RE: Logo 10 motor/ gearing questions
http://hackerbrushless.com/motorDetails.aspx?series=C50 its the C5014L I just totally rebuilt the heli and I found that the bearings were really gummed up. I think thats the mojor problem with the heat. When i would try to spin them they would sonly spin about one revolution. A little cleaning up and they were spinning like new. Im running a 13t pinion but to get my head up to 1800 Im going to need a 15. I guess I will see if thats too much on the motor. Now the bearings are good I think i will be ok

Logo 10 aerial rig, have some questions.
I have a logo 10 and have recently custom built an aerial photography rig for it. (will post pics tomorrow). My question is about gearing, Im running a Hacker C50 14L 1740rpm/v Motor and a 200t Main gear. Im unsure of the Speed control but I know its Jeti... Maybe 50 or 70?? Im running a 4s1p 4000mah Li-po. Logo is mostly stock other than carbon blades. Im wondering what Pinion i should be using for this setup. I want to keep things cool, the entire camera rig should be around 2lbs or less auw. I would just be doing easy flying for the camera but want to make sure i have the power to pull out in an emergency situation. Any suggestions out there? Thanks a lot - Chris

Logo 10 motor/ gearing questions
I need a little help here, electronics and gearing always confuses me. I have a Mikado Logo 10 that I recently purchased. Im running a 4s lipo. The motor is a Hacker C50 14L (1740 RPM/V, 1200 peak watts). It has a 11t pinion and a 200t main gear. The headspeed seems fine (dont have a tach) it flies smooth but after about 5 minutes of flying I land and the motor seems VERY hot to the touch. The speed control and batt are slightly warm but not hot. Anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking maybe i need to change the pinion??? Oh yeah, its got a Logo 20 head on it so its a little more mass to swing Thanks - Chris

RE: Whats it worth? NVM, I just bought it (LOGO 10)
I did my first paint job, check it out. I used 400 grit sand paper and wet sanded the entire fuse. Sprayed it with a white base coat and went from there, took lots of tape but i got it done. Used the krylon fusion plastic paint and it seemed to work great. What do you think?

RE: Whats it worth? NVM, I just bought it (LOGO 10)
I got a 4s from my LHS instead of gambling with the zippys. Now my problem is tail wag. I have the Gy401 gyro with a digital S9650 tail servo. I read the 401 manual and it says for digital servo set the delay at 0. I did that and it didnt help. So i turned it up little by little and it goes through worse spots but doesnt seem to get any better. I unhook the servo horn and the linkage feels smooth. Im not sure where to go from here, the servo is mounted in the frame but I have the boom mount. Anyone have and opinions on this?

How about these Lightmax Zippy Li-pos??? 4S1P 5000mah 25C battery for only around $70. Add the $15 dollars in shipping and your up to $85....... not to mention the 10-30 day shipping time!!! Are these batteries worth it?? Some of these 4S batteries I'm finding are a couple hundred bucks! Anyone out there got any comments on these???

Battery help! I have a 6s1p battery with this heli and its a little too fast for me. Then I have a 12 cell nicd that seems a little slow. So my question is what battery do yall suggest? Im thinking of a 4s or 5s .... I dont fly 3d, just some lazy flying around. Looking for a good battery to have decent flight time, but also have some power in case i should need it. Thanks for any suggestions.

RE: Whats it worth? NVM, I just bought it (LOGO 10)
well the first flight was a little hairy! I had my pitch curve set ... well ... just a little bit wrong. It spooled up and all of a sudden leaped to about 20' up! I was trying for about a 2 or 3' hover but now im 20' up in a heli thats not trimmed and still hasnt been programmed perfectly. LUCKILY i was able to keep my cool and set her down without any problems. After a little adjustments I have her flying pretty nice, did some hovering, some piros, and a couple circles. I had noticed before I started there was 1 tooth missing on the main gear. I could hear it chattering and knew it was only a matter of time. I was about 5' up when i heard a "sound" I knew what was happening. The gear started to strip and I was able to set it down right as it started to piro out of control. Soooo Overall it was good, I knew the MG was gonna go so I already have a couple on the way. On another note, Anyone have a good source for Logo parts? I found a few websites but wanted to know if anyone has a site the personally like ... good service... good products... has things in stock! you know, things like that. Thought i would just get some opinions.

RE: Whats it worth? NVM, I just bought it (LOGO 10)
Thanks David... How will this heli perform on the Nicad I got with it? For a while I just want a tame heli so i can get back with it. And What about this 6S lipo? The guy I bought it from said the headspeed was insane and he only flew a couple times with it. What would be the best lipo for the heli, no 3d or anything.... I was thinking of selling the 6s or trading it and getting a 4s for it.

Whats it worth? NVM, I just bought it (LOGO 10)
Ok its been a couple years since i have flown Heli's but I found one for sale that I think may be a good deal. If you can give an estimate of its worth I would appreciate it. Also any comments on the heli itself would be nice. I dealt with Align and Thunder tiger helis most but never the Mikado line. Thanks in advance for any info - Chris mikado logo 10 witch is completely ready to go except for transmitter. It has a Hacker C50 14L and a jeti 50a ESC w/ cooling fan. GY401 gyro and futaba digital tail servo. fullymax 6S1P 4500 mah pack also have a 12 cell nickel cadmium pack. It has an upgraded logo 20 head for mass with Mah 9/46,5/500 carbon fiber blades. and logo 20 vertical and horizontal fins. The body is custom fit logo 24 bionic. one thing is it is missing the battery plate It also comes with a logo 20 frame with an aveox motor and extra blades He says its ready to go minus TX. Hitec RX is installed and has an unknown size RX batt. All Futaba servos

tracks?
Whats everones opinion on building custom tracks? Is it worth the effort? Im in the process of building a tank but the track design seems like its going to be difficult. I want to build some tracks with bike chain as a basis and somehow mold rubber tracks to the unit making it a one piece track. The tracks will have to be strong enough to spin at high rates of speed, I plan to drive each track with a brushess motor. I need some input here - Thanks ..... Chris

INSPIRATION: Ripsaw MS1 [image]http://chinese.automk.com/media/2007/06/ripsaw.jpg[/image] DETAILS: Custom tube chassis made of automotive brake line (see pic below of a custom chassis I made for a rock crawler), 2 Brushless motors (one on each track), 2 speed controls, LED lighting system, 2 li-po 11.1v batteries, custom suspension, custom tracks, hoping for a top speed around 50mph! ..... [image]http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n320/fire_boy92/P1010035.jpg[/image] Thats about all I got right now, what does everyone think? any questions or suggestions?

RE: t Thinking of starting a new project
First Pics ... A little hard to tell what this piece is by looking at it right now.... It is the framework for the suspension and swing arms for the tracks. I will make 2 of these, then build the main body and attach these to it. [image]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3377/3451822458_24b4683f74.jpg?v=0[/image]

RE: t Thinking of starting a new project
Im still in the thinking/ sketching stage but so far im going with a 18" - 20" wheelbase (drive wheel - front tensioner wheel). It will have lots of suspension travel, T-max shocks for the bogies and a savage shock for the tensioner. Tracks will be custom with bicycle chain as the basis. In the rear i will mount the rear hubs off a 1/10th scale car to the frame. bearings will go in the hub and a cvd axle/stub shaft out to a 2.2" wheel. The wheel will have chain sprockets mounted to it. On the other end of the cvd would be some sort of transmission to hook up the BL motors to. I will powdercoat the frame and have mounting tabs to secure body panels to. I want it to have a futuristic look with a "cabin" or place where a driver would sit. This project, like my rock crawler project, will go slow... I will try to keep up with the progress on here and post any pics or drawings i come up with. Feel free to add any comments or suggestions. I have experience in the hobby but this is my first tank, also if anyone knows how to, or can link me to how to build a LED light system inexpensively I would appreciate it. i was thinking of buying individual LED's and putting my soldering skills to use doing all the wiring myself.

Well I placed a special order at my LHS for the aluminum i need about two weeks ago .... I go in there the other day and they havent even ordered it yet!! I have my tlt all built up, figured there were no need for pics of the axles since they are all over the place in here. When that aluminum shows up im going to get started and start posing some pics.

one part confuses me a little, the part about bodies.... It says you have to run 1/10th body, then it says tubers have to have solid side panels and raised roof and so on. Is this in addition to the body or do tubers not have to have the 1/10th body??? just the panels??

NEW 2.2 Build Thread!!
Ok so I have my TLT on the way, this will be my build thread throughout the entire process. I will try to post as many pics as I can throughout the build. This is what I have come up with. Tuber, tig welded out of aluminum. Square and rod aluminum used. 3 link (maybe) Droop suspension Based on a crawler I found in crawl magazine march/april 2007, Team Tsuda FJ cruiser. NOW FOR THE QUESTIONS.... I have looked around but havent found exactly what im looking for ... 2.2 WB?? ground clearance?? Chassis width?? Once I have these numbers in mind I can start the drawings. Thanks in advance for any help ---- CHRIS
