RE: Himoto RTR RXB-28
last I knew the rxb only came with the .21 sh or go 3 port. I have alot of experience with this buggy.. will you have a good experience with it? that all depennds on what your plans are with it.. if your just wanting a less expensive bash buggy it would prolly fit the bill.. these buggies are quite tuff.. I know mine was int the air approx 15ft. landing on HARD flat ground several times with no issues.. now if you want to race you most likely wont like this buggy.. atleast on my local track no matter what I did I couldnt get it to make tight enough turns and would lose so much ground.. even had a couple experienced drivers help try to figure out how to make it turn. the rxb is a pretty solid buggy but a racer it is not.. either way I would go with something like a sh zcar as I have. I dont know your spending limit but I would highly conceder a kit.. no better way to get to know your buggy better then building it.. believe me if your going to last in this hobby your gonna havta know your way around your buggy

just electric lately...thats if I run at all....guys I race with talked me into getting a short course truck to race indoors...so I bought a kyosho ultima sc (got second my very first race with it..lol)...still running it with stock motor and esc...want to get a 13.5 brushless but with all the b/s at work I dont want to spend any money on it (if I keep running my smart mouth I might get fired and have to go back truckin)..lol...nitro is dead...my rxb needs a major overhaul (cv shafts and chassis atleast)...and have only ran the rxt maybe 20 min since I got it (yanno me a buggy dude..lol)....

RE: Truggy track setup ?'s
if I was racing ur rig here is what I would do....first and formost say bye bye to the aluim arms....way more trouble then what they are worth (for instance your axle problem, aluim has its place on rc, but arms isnt one of them)... second bye bye badland tires....running on a track with them suckers has to be like riding on ice....tires are on of the most important (if no the most imprortant) thing in whether you run at the front or the rear..check to see what other guys are running at your track and go from there...panther makes pretty good tires and are not usually as muchas aka or proline...ya dont have to break the bank if you shop around...anyways I would venture to guess that nobody else is running anything sim. to badlands (suprised they let ya on the track with em..lol)..if they are the track must be horrid. as far as setup....2 deg. chamber all around...no toe on the front and slight toe in on the rear...I'd start out with 55wt in thefront shocks and 50 in the rear (all depends on your springs)...diffs I would try 5000 in the front 7000 in the center and 2000 in the rear...you want the front to pull you around the track...if you notice alot of push in and out of the corners try lighter diff oils...always drop your rc after making any suspension adjustments....ride height axles even and I usuallylet the back sag just a lil below the front (I think they fly better with less work on the trigger)...make sure to adjust you droop and give her hell engine wise...dont know what run time ur getting but ya already got it so might as well run it ( 5 port would most likely be better suited for truggy)...just remember run time and smoothdriving is king...anytime u spend in the pits fueling and getting marshalled adds up fast...I would dang sure slap some aluim clutch shoes on it if ya havent already done it...

RE: RXT track problem
the problem your having with your front axles coming out is because you dont have your droop set....on the bottom of your arms is some grub screws...after you get the ride height you want you need to drop your truggy from about a foot or so onto a table...then you want to tighten them grub screws to were they just touch the arms at that height...if you dont do this your arms drop and this allows your axles to fall out of the cups

RE: HimotoRacing Wolf mini heli
if you read the instructions they tell you to not fly or keep in direct sunlight....I have noticed some heli's prefer their controller..I had a A and B and the A wouldnt act right with the B contoller when switched to A...why I dont know, it just didnt...also like Brian mentioned the controller needs to be pointed at the heli at all times... I did have one that crashed and a wire to the bottom blade motor came off...tried to solder it back on with no luck (got it back on still no power to the motor, may have messed up the chip when heating it)...anyways I dont know exactly how it happend due to it wasnt mine..the person bought my other heli to replace it...so now I'm down to one agian..lol

RE: SH .28 Engines
one other thing to look for if your going to race...I'd look for engines that will allow you to change your carb venturies.... changing your venturies will give you yet another way of tuning your engine...the smaller the ventury will let less air in which will drop your hp some but give you better run time...larger ventury will more power due to it allows more air, but less run time...you will need to adjust your needles if switching venturies as far as looking for the biggest baddest dirt throwing fire demon of engines you need to remember a few things...slower is faster and consistancy is king...I'm just a club racer and not a pro by any means, not even close....but I do see engines like the dynamite .21 mach 2 and platnuims in buggies and truggies not only keep up with the nova's, rb's os's and so on on the track..they guys wheeling them are beating them cause they are more consistant with lookin to race or just compete with ur buddies on track like conditions here is what I found to be best...try to get as much run time out of a tank (less time you spend in the pits is more time on the track, on the track is were it counts).. slower is faster, your not gaining much time on your lid...and to finish first, first you must finish

RE: New engine in the rxb-1
its a standard plug....I dont think go offered turbo heads until like the 4th gen engines the difference between the new gx series and previos GO's is more refined timing, port shape, location and finish work as well as the tin coating that is spose to help the components to last longer...also the new engines come with a extra connecting rod due to breaking in a new engine causes alot of stress on the connecting rod and GO engines are well known as very tight engines and you must pre-heat them to start them for usually atleast 1 1/2 gal...so after the engine is good and broke in your spose to change the rod... also there is a difference between the tuning needles as the older models had very touchy needles...the newer needles are spose to help make it easier to do fine tune adjustments as they need to be turned a bit further.

RE: SH .28 Engines
one thing you need to remember is that if you change your gearing or tune your engine (pipe) to get more low end power you will lose some top end speed..... I'm running a sh .21 8 port on my rxb with aluim clutch shoes, stock spings, 13t clutchbell and a midrange dynamite pipe...this is what I found to give me good low end power to get out of the corners and I still have plenty top end to run down the straights (straights aint that long anyways)... iffin you (or anyone for that matter) have a rxt and are wanting to race it on a budget here is what I would do as far as engine, pipe and gears (depending on the track ofcourse)... if you really want to race and be competative you might conceder dropping to a .21 engine...reason being is you will get better mileage (longer run times = less pitting which means your on the track longer.. every second counts).... I'd look at the go .21 5 port or 3 port (race specs).....but iffin your really on a budget I would mod my stock sh.28 with the xtm piston/sleave or just buy a xtm 457... throw some aluim. clutch shoes on it (I think stock springs would work fine)...and I'd add the bump box backplate so I could utilize the bump box.. now here were it depends on your track or how you want to run....if you want to launch off the line, come out of corners strong and are not that worried about top end cause short straights I would go to a 14t or 13t clutchbell (they are like $6 so just get both)...if the straights are real short an you like alot of bottom end I'd look at the dynamite torque pipe...if fairly decent straights try the midrange...if you have decent straights try the stock clutcbell (I believe its 15t)...you will need to do a lil experimenting...I'm thinkin for me a if I was to run a .28 I'd run 14t clutchbell, aluim shoes, midrange pipe on the truggy...atleast thats were I'd start the xtm 457 piston/sleave really wakes up the sh.28 p3...the difference is night and day...my torpedas with the modded sh's not only have more bottom end then my rxb, they are just as fast if not a lil faster...but I can get longer run times with the .21 then I can the .28's....

RE: Inexpensive RC toy for a dog to chase?
I took my 1/10th nitro truggy to work awhile back...our shop dog went nuts when I fired it up....in the shop he owned it..tight quarters he would just grab it by a wheel and fling it across the floor....so I took it outside and was running it...I would cruise along letting him chase,..when he got close I'd pour the coals to it and leave him in the dust...he lost intrest real quick once he figured out he couldnt catch it outdoors..lol

I watched a video on how to cut out bodies awhile back...guy used a exacto knife and just scored the body along the lines to be cut....used some scissors and cut to the line...from there he just peeled the scrap right away from the body...tried it on a onroad body and it worked pretty good...the last buggy body I tried it on it didnt work as well... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_T5byfs3Ylk

fastest driver at the track I run wheels a d8....give him a mugen and it would be a mugen, give him a losi and it would be a losi (see the trend??..lol)... as far as getting a car that will handle a crash,...they all can...funny thing is you may jump 10ft high land and not break a thing....hit a rut wrong and snap a tie rod...it happens, they all break....

RE: Hello all, New to the forums and looking for some opinions.
my personal opinion diff. go 1/8th....my favorite platform is buggy, but a truggy may suit your needs better....either way there isnt usually tons of upgrades for either truggy or buggy as there is monster trucks...but I'm not a big monster truck fan and all that bling bling stuff you can throw on monster trucks does nothing for me...I'm more into handling and going fast..lol... first I would ask myself what I actually planned on doing with the rc....if I was planning on running in tall grass, more rough type terrain I would go truggy...if I wasnt planning on rough terrain and wanted to run on more like track conditions I would conceder buggy....I do think buggies get along decent in grass and rough terrain but the truggy tackles it better... there are some good rtr's out there new that would suit you fine and by going new you wouldnt have to worry so much about buying someone elses headache...I'm not a huge fan of buying used but if your budget only allows that you dont have much choice...you can buy pretty decent rtr's for $300 (buggy) lil more for a truggy....they may not be full blown racers but doesnt sound like thats what your after...but they could be raced if you wanted to try your hand at it before you go nuts and spend big money
