RE: Extreme Flight Vanquish 2m Build Thread
I got a Plettenberg Advance 30-10 for this arf but i havent been able to find a way toi mount it without adding a lot of weight. I have given up the hope to run the advance 30-10 in my EF Vanquish and orded a Himax so i can finish my plane and start flying it. Ill prob sell the pletty and score more battery sets.

What length extentions did every one use? I'm getting back to this arf after a small delay lol

RE: Nuance
If your ailerons required differential it can be done this way instead of programming in the differential. You would just have a small bit of trial and error to get the push rod the right length for the amount of differential you require.

RE: Nuance
ORIGINAL: patternflyer1 Just a question about how they mounted the servo arm. Shouldn't the servo arm be mounted 90 degrees with the rod, not 90 degrees with the servo? Thx Chris
This was designed to achieve a certain amount of throw and differential. If you use a different length servo arm you wont have the proper throw and differential that this setup was designed for with out losing resolution and mechanical advantage. His pdf pamphlet thingy stated that when you use this size arm with this geometry you will get the desired throw and desired differential.

Another thing I incorrectly assumed that these arfs were going to come with wing bags so now I need a good source for pattern plane style wing stab and etc bags. What are my options and is a fuse bag needed? Thanx again

RE: Extreme Flight Vanquish 2m Build Thread
Can I get a list of needed equipment from you veterans of pattern? I have my vanquish still in the box cause i have to study for tests. I still need to remove it and check to make sure there's no damage. things I have: 2m vanquish arf w/ included gear platty adv 30-10 I had planned on possibly getting some gator wing adjusters for finer adjustments to wing incidence. I would like to hear your thoughts on this and how I would install them to a plane with an already existing anti rotation pin in the wing. What type and size spinner should I go for? Im also trying to decide what servos to use. I know what to do for imac giant scale planes but no experience with the pattern oriented gear. I saw that A. Jesky was using brush-less 651 and 551 servos for ele and ail. What are the advantages of brush-less servos over standard digi servos. Thanx

RE: What type of exhaust - Can/Pitts/Tuned Pipe?
The stock exhaust is still ok on the 100 cc but you cant use a horribly loud prop. I had stock DA exhaust w/ mezjlic 27x10 prop on my 35% H9 extra260 last year and scored 5 on the sound score some times 10s never had any zeros. most the time i was under half throttle except on 45° and 90° uplines and even then didnt have to go to full power. The plane was 27.5 pounds. Having the extra power help a lot. If the plane is IMAC only then tuned pipes are great but if you want to fly 3d with them you will have to get used to the lack of transition. Im in the 40% planes for my imac now and run a DA170 on re3 tuned pipes and mis the perfect throttle transition of canisters or stock exhaust but on this sized engine it gets to loud to use stock exhaust. My current plane is to heavy for canisters so the tuned pipes extra power stays, but on my future plane that will be under 40 pounds i will use canns for the transition.

RE: How are you guys weighing your birds?
Dont use a home scale those lie alot a person know weighed their plane and came out with s 36 pound plane then the plane was weighed on a good scale and it was 41. I usually weigh my planes at flyins were some one almost always has a good scale. I would like to get a good scale for my self but always end up using the money for another plane hehe.
ORIGINAL: chuck l flatlandmike, I like you idea, particularly the adjustability. What is the geometry issue you mentioned? Is there any concern about damaging the rudder servo because of the ''hard'' connections? Chuck
You just need to make sure the steering arm is the same length or just a bit longer than the control horn coming off the rudder plus try

RE: Pilot RC 30% Yak tailwheel-need good fix
I use a push rod on one side. You have to pay some attention to geometry but its the best way to go imo as far as perfect steering goes.

RE: New Wheels by Airman
On the kevans, I ran the chrome hubs of which only one failed out of 6 sets. The biggest prob i had with them is they wear fast and i get blow outs. On the 50cc the kevans lasted a long time but on the 35%er and up they only lasted 2-4 weeks before blowouts so i had to stop using them. less than a month on a set of kevans is not except able.

Ill keep it posted. What wheels that arent foam weigh less; all the wheels i weighed came at or above 5 oz each? Foam wheels are not an option for me as well as kevans the faom get flat spots in less than a day and the kevans blow out in the span of a week. sorry no edit, I meant to click on quote! - SORRY!

New Wheels by Airman
I posted about these wheels on FG web site and I thought I would spread the word here too. I found these wheels recently and wanted to make sure every one knew about them. They are about 5" wheels with bearings instead of bushings and come with axles already installed. There on a intro price of 79.99 to 89.99 depending on what wheel you get . One set had a bolt on hub the others have a normal wheel collar set up. Either hub can have the disk or spoke style. Edit they weigh 5.5 oz [;)] Can be seen and ordered from Kirbys Custom Graphics web site. http://www.angelfire.com/oh2/kirbysgraphics/Wheels.html

RE: New Wheels by Airman
They are 5.5 oz and they already have the axles. The first 3 pics are mine and the others I took from the web site. not very many tires are less weight than that and all those that are i have seen fall apart on the run way far to soon in their life span. I wont run the skylines or the dubro any more because the tires come off the hub or the hub has spit up on me.

RE: Throttle Curve Question for 100cc
Its a personal preference. I set my endpoints equal and above 100/100 I shoot for more than 130/130. then I set my throttle up so that the power (not rpm) is linear. I do it by feel. If it feels like I get most of my power by half throttle i set the throttle curve to move that further up the throttle stick. If you are using a futaba tx you can add a little expo to achieve this.
