RE: Futura 1.9m Build
Thanks for the advise. Changed the Hopper tank and all plumbing to the pump, problem solved she is awesome. Now we just playing with the CG. Found that what is measured and how she flies is very different, but as you all kniow a good setup takes time.

RE: Futura 1.9m Build
I have uploaded some pics of the header tank before and after changing the suction. Do I need to have that filter inside the hopper, there is a big difference with it removed. I have one filter on my fuel tank for filling and one on the suction side of the fuel pump. The plumbing inside the tanks is all large side Tygon tubing with large clunks.

RE: Futura 1.9M build pictures
guys I have a question. I have a Evo\jet 140 installed in mine.Last week we maidened the jet. First flight was ok, second flight while doing a dirty pass , motor back just off idle in the bank for finals tried to increase the throttle but no response from the turbine everything else worked fine. Managed to land safely and did some ground run ups all seemed ok. Checked the ECU for errors,,,nothing. Anyway today back to the field first 4 minutes of the flight all ok running just off half throttle. This time turned into wind throttle back just off idle for about 5-8 seconds tried to throttle up nothing again. This time when we landed we tried to throttle up but turbine stayed on idle and eventually slowly spoiled up. Ok this is a new turbine 4 flights. We have since change the fuel pump and ecu did a flight test , it did the same. I had the agent with me so we changed the turbine did a flight test , did the same again. Got home pulled the turbine electronics and checked all the plumbing , everything looks ok. Over the intakes is a wire mesh which the previous owner installed as he was running of a grass runway, could this restrict the air flow. He was also running a jetcat P100, slightly smaller turbine. Anyone have any ideas what could be happening here. Everything is great while flying at half throttle and above down to idle or just off and that's were it stays....stumped...could this be a fuel issue or airflow?? regards Gary

RE: Tomahawk Futura Build Thread
somehow don't think this is the case opposite servo is setup identical for obvious reasons, been doing this a while and am very much aware of servos binding etc, reason why I always use a ammeter in line . Think maybe it was just its time RIP..... Good thing about this is that it happened on the ground and not in the air. Something I also find strange in the design of the Power Box product is the fact that that specific channel wasn't switched off to prevent something like a short progressing to where the whole system is draw down causing one to loose an aircraft.

RE: Tomahawk Futura Build Thread
Have a small issue, maybe someone can help. Burned out two flap servos setting up the throws. had an amp meter in line so not sure why this happened. No binding was evident. I did notice that when i slowed the servos down the one side started jittering a bit, could this be an issue. Checked my voltages all 5.7 volts ,,,and yes they are all HV servos in the jet. Everything runs through a Power bOX COCKPIT..I have both servos running through independent channels, maybe i should run these through a matched channel and do the setup totally from the power box,,,,Life packs x 2 . I have now changed both servos for JR 8711 a bit of an over kill but its what i have lying around. before i start setting up again,,,any tip, tricks etc. Is there any chance that the up/down/offset setting on the 14 MZ could have down this. I pretty sure my setup was good, no sub trim , EP all 100% with no binding....I'm a bit stumped. regards Gary.

Thanks Neville, will call you later have some questions. One being the lack of intake ducting. Model has huge intakes but that's it , air isn't ducted to the turbine as in the larger Futura.

Guys, I am busy with my Futura , turbine arrived today EvoJet 140. I have a question. How far must the turbine be from the thrust tube. Normally i would set the turbine about 1.5 cm from the thrust tube but this tube is different as you all know, almost bell ended ( wide) Any suggestions. rgds Gary

RE: AMT MURCURY ELECTRIC START ISSUE
Ray, Thanks, found the battery pack was not good. had a new pack made up 1500mha 10 cell Nicad, but still i get no start. Im using 50% mix of butane and propane as the starting gas. I have tried cold and hot plugs but still the same. The only beep I get is before it goes into start sequence, 5 beeps it spins up, pops once on the spin down but no ignition. Now I'm thinking that maybe this is a gas issue. I have bi-passed the gas solenoid as well thinking maybe i had an issue with the hardware but still the same. To check if the ECU is fine I applied some heat with a heat gun to the EGT probe, here all is fine ECU detects the temp change and starts spinning the motor. So in a nutshell I have a ignition problem.....Maybe i should try normal LPG gas...with a hot plug. rgds gary

RE: AMT MURCURY ELECTRIC START ISSUE
Hello, I have checked it all is ok, i do see a rise in temp on the EDT, she still just pops and nothing more. I think maybe my battery might be bad, takes a full charge but when i go into the start sequence the voltage drops down to 10.2 volts as the electric motor starts spinning up. Could this be a cause for this ...

AMT MURCURY ELECTRIC START ISSUE
hello need some help with startup. Either I am doing something wrong or there is an issue. On startup i get my 5 beeps, the electric motor kicks on but then goes off , does this until the battery runs flat. Gas is on solonoid valve is working as i can hear a pop . Thats as far as it gets. I have checked everything, cannot find anything wrong plus no errors besides supply error after about the 4 try. So \motor spools and stops, \spools and stops , does not spin up.....

Keep it simple, I turbo regulator with dual batteries, running two Fasst 7 channel receivers works fine for me in a 35% plane, no issues. Have plane split down the middle..

I have a very similar system, but have a separate battery for the seiko. The pack for the Seiko i charge once on a weekend and thats it. Fly about 10 flights on the weekend and pck takes about 1600mha. i use a 3 cell 2200 mha pack. Both flights packs are 3200mha and thats pretty much the same charged once on a weekend ....
