RE: NGH .9 carb help
There is a thread on Rcgroups that will help you out with this. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1555659&highlight=ngh This helped me. Remember this carb must be 1/2 way open for idle. Make sure you use the correct low speed screw. It is not the one in the manual, its the one on the throttle arm. It took me a few hours to get mine tuned. After that it runs great. Use a felt clunk in the tank. Good luck

RE: going to open my own lhs
I owned a hobby shop for several years. It is a ton of fun to operate. No doubt you will need to stock $50 to $75K worth of stock. Kits, arfs etc. do not sell as much as parts. Car guys love to dump lots of money into their cars. Many people order online. With Tower, Horizon, etc competing against you and at the same time being your supplier, it can be tough. Many people will buy a cheap plane or heli at the flea market and then will want you to fix it when it breaks. Profit margins not great, But... It is a very fun business to be in. Not to mention you have anything on the shelf to support your habit. LOL. I have since sold my shop and really miss it. It will be a good retirement job in the future.

RE: Hobbico TorqMaster 180 Starter Review
I have been using the 180 starter with 2 - 2200 mah 3 cell lipos in series. Have used it all summer to turn a Saito 180. No problems. Without the extra kick and would not turn over the Saito. I agree, if it burns up I'll get another one.

RE: Hangar 9 RV-8 .46 ARF
I had the same problem with my wings. I applied some Ultra-stripe around the root of the wing where it attaches to the fuselage. I felt the same as you did about the wings being weak. I have yet to have any trouble. But, it still worries me. The wings actually have a little play in them and that scares me. Really thinking about just epoxying them.

RE: E-flite BAe Hawk 15 DF ARF
I run a 4 cell 3200 mah lipo in mine. Just make sure your ESC can handle the 4 cell battery. Other than that, it is a ball to fly. It is fast and keep the speed up on landing. You do not need to keep the power on, just keep the nose lowered and add power if you are coming up short. It will cover some ground on landing / rollout. If you get it too slow it will dip a wing and spin in, fast! It takes a pretty good distance to get off the ground 50-75'. Once up it moves. It really gets small in a hurry.

RE: E-flite BAe Hawk 15 DF ARF
I put this plane together last week and finally got to fly it yesterday. Flew it 3 times and all I can say is Wow! It looks great in the air and flys like it is on rails. Put the 4 cell pack in and it really goes up. Need to land fairly fast to keep it from stalling. Great plane from E-flite.

Hey everyone who attended, we really enjoyed having each and everyone of you to the Middletown airport. We hope you all come back next year. The planes were great and the people greater! Everyone here at the airport enjoyed the event. I have had nothing but positive remarks from the people in town. We are really looking forward to next year. Thanks to all who came and had fun. Thanks Gary, Sandy, Bob, Jim, Terry, Mike, etc. Great time. Rich Bevis Airport Manager

RE: Spektrum Alpha 40 radio problems
Make sure you remove the bind plug before disconnecting the battery connected to the receiver. The binding will not work through the charge plug. I have an AR500 reciever, the stock receiver in the Alpha 40, go bad. It would not bind to anything. Horizon replaced it and the new one works great. I have seen other receiver that need to be rebound after sitting for several weeks to months. I don't know how much you fly the 40, but if you want more speed and fun, pull the 3 blade prop off and put on a 2 blade. The plane will come alive. Switching to a DX7 transmitter will also improve control service movements, IE faster rolls, turns, etc. One more note. If you drill out the restricter plate in the muffler with a 3/8" bit, you will be amazed at the performance increase. It's a great plane to keep moving up with. Hope all works well.
