ORIGINAL: KitBuilder your a 747 pilot and that's your workbench :) !! I turned my canopy 180 degress and recut the bottom to match .. much sleeker. I round the tip with hollow block, teardrop shpaed. some sheet the turtledeck too.. much smoother nice looking. I rotated engine 90 degress so exhaust exited the bototm, with the diverter in place it was a very clean plane after flights.
I think that's a nice workbench[;)]

This plane was very easy to put together Greg the guy who sells these will give you all kinds of info and links for building and set up.I did not know anything about electric it was and still is my first electric. Greg set me up with electronics package. If someone used crappy electronics and put it together poorly [pretty hard to mess this build up]then yea that' true with any model.

I bet the OS 55ax would pull that around just fine. Its not like your going to be standing it on its prop and 3Ding it . And your on the high end of what the Manufacture recommends.

My club also has a mixture of about everything. We even allow flying lawnmowers. We pretty much have one rule. Don't fly over the pit area. It's been working just fine for the last 35 years. RE: Flying in strong Winds
ORIGINAL: Hewey19 For me seems like 10-15 mph is ideal. 20 mph is OK as long it is consistent and in a good direction. Once it gets to around 25+ mph I usually pack it up. It stops being fun for me when I am doing alot of correcting and saving of the plane. Sort of like the plane is flying me instead of me flying the plane. I also usally take my GP Big Stik 40 out when the wind is really blowing.
Good Advice Hewey

RE: Nexstar
ORIGINAL: ttjames You all are scaring me. I convinced my wife to get me the EP version for Christmas and I hope I made the right decision. I have been dreaming flying an R/C plane since I was 6 years old and when I finnaly get one, I find this thread. Lot of trash talk about this plane, but I see there are plenty of suporters too. I do not expect to use this plance for anything other than "learning to fly", so hopefully I will accomplish that. I am kinda shy and it has taken me some nevre to contact the local club about an instructor. They told me to come on out, but I read on here of one instructor who will not even train someone who has one of these. Hope I have a better experience than that.
You made a good choice James.I know you are getting the EP version. But remember the first year I put 21 gallons of fuel in mine. That is a lot of flight time with this bird. You wont be disappointed.Get an instructor go out and have some fun.

Yea gaRCfield your right .Thats what it does it wants to go Right. Some times to the point of ooooh what a rush.I have to agree with you on the flaps and droops they did do a good job of slowing the aircraft down.I guess Iam like 99.9% of the other guys I never did use the leveling system as a matter of fact its still in the plane though.

O.S. 91FX or Saito's Fa 100 Mojo 60
Going to build a mojo 60.Do I go with the Satio 100.Or the o.s 91 .Does anyone have one with a o.s 91.Just wondering how it performs in a hover?.I would like to get a satio 100. But I just can't trust them. All I own is o.s 4 strokes [to heavy]and 2 strokes.I find them the most reliable engines out there easy to start and no dead sticks.I have not had good luck with a satio fa 72 I owned. It would just dead stick all the time and I could not trust it so I finally sold it. What kind of luck have other guys had with a satio?

RE: Just wondering what the best prop would be for my OS 55AX on my mojo 40 ?
Ok here's what I have come up with so far.Pretty much what most guys have been telling me.Went to my LhS and bought a 13x4 zinger pro. The only 13x4 wood prop that they had..In a hover it has good spool up.Was down on the deck and doing tail touches and hit the ground and busted the prop[:@].Put on a apc 13x4W. It did not have the instant spool up as the zinger. The apc seemed to work good for all other maneuvers and once it did spool up the apc 13x4w did seem to have more pull..Its just when your playing close to the ground I like that instant spool up.Gonna order me some xoars from swanys house I will report on them also.I know zinger makes the 13x4 pro.And they also make a 13x4 tractor propeller .But don't know which one would be better in a hover or if you could even tell the differance?

Just wondering what the best prop would be for my OS 55AX and my mojo 40? A apc 13x4 or a apc 13x4W?Towers website says the 13x4 is a sport composite propeller it sells for $4.69.The 13x4W is a pattern composite propeller it sells for $7.59?What will the noticable difference be between the two if any?Would a wood prop be better?
