Jon, Im running 24 degrees of timing and setting the PWM rate to 8, this was recommended to me from hacker and seem to be working well so far. Andrew

RE: New Krill Spark Evo I- Build Thread.....
Dave, That was the first model that came from that factory so we built it with it being flush to the spinner ring, After flying the plane we had to add downthrust as well as right thrust. I think the nose is 0-0. I will try and post a picture of the nose of my model with the way it's set now. Andrew
ORIGINAL: SByrd I am looking forward to getting my Spark Evo it is suppose to be here Wednesday. Andrew are you running a soft mount with your hacker? Stephen Byrd
Stephen, Sorry I was just able to jump back online and check this out. I do run a soft mount type of setup with the hacker. I picked up the parts that were needed from mcmaster carr. Basically its just a rubber grommet that has a aluminum spacer in the middle to not allow it to compress to much, then It has washers on both sides of the grommet. Andrew

I wonder if there not used for sfg's but rather tip planes to increase aileron authority similar to what seba has been doing on his planes? It would make the most logical sense to me. Like doug said, bipes do not need any help with rudder authority. Andrew

Mike, I really enjoy flying which is why i dont mind shovelling off the runway to go out and get some flying in, which is what happened today. Once you get your nuance going if you have any questions let me know I've gotten about 20 flights on mine so far and the only thing I'm working on now is just getting the snaps Sparkie like. Andrew

Everette, I agree with you that the planes are getting a bit pricey, but looking at the krill planes to the oxai I think your getting a good deal on the krill models. I wouldn't necessarily call these shake and bake airplanes as the molds that are used for these planes cost upwards of 10k to produce quality models. Andrew

Everette, I wish I could say the bottom was carbon and a special version but unfortunately it's not. It's just because the bottom of my plane is blue it came through the fiberglass. Mine is soft on the bottom as well. Andrew

I can tell you two of the items, it's. 70mm spinner and it can swing a 22" prop no problem at all. I'll try and grab that measurement for you in the morning. Andrew

RE: New Composite F3A.
My nuance has flown!! and I must say its a great flying airplane. The build went relatively easy with zero issues other than changing out some hardware to things that I like to use, such as axles, wheels, and ball links. The airplane is extremely light with my Q80-11s, castle ice 80hv, futaba BLS352 on rudder, BLS551 on ailerons, BLS651's on ailerons, and a Thunder Power 10s5000 my plane weighs in at 4565! I couldnt believe the weight of the model but I weighed it numerous times and it still showed that every time. As far as flying goes the tall fuse is very effective and seems to really hold well in knife edge flight. The model rolls really well, I would say better than my spark evo which is pretty hard to believe. At the weight it slows down great for the spins even at 5000 feet that I fly at. The Q80 on a Falcon 21x14 is an amazing combo with a bunch of power! It slows down really well and just keeps a good constant speed when flying. I ended up with my cg at 275mm from the rear forward which is 15mm further forward then the instructions call for. For me this seemed to have the best overall feel but I do like my CG a bit further forward than most. I have 1% rudder to aileron mixing, 0 rudder to elevator, and 2.5% down elevator to throttle which produces a very true downline. Overall I can say I'm very happy with the model and will continue to fly the model and compare it to the spark evo and my other models. Andrew Jesky
ORIGINAL: Zi-Chun Lin Hi AJ Congrations for good result in WC!! I am wondering if original design of spark evo is good,Why you rebuild the wing for spark EVO! I has two spark evo and it's almost can not do ''snap''
Thank you very much for you comments. The reason I used different wings at the WC2011 was I really like a light airplane. I'm not sure on the others weight at the worlds but mine was pretty light at 4680grams with a 5000mah pack. I have flown the stock wings and they do snap slower than most. I have worked with Ivo to produce the same wing with bigger ailerons. Currently mark atwood is flying these wings and his snaps are much faster. Andrew

Steve As far as hatch latches go I would run the hatch latch that chris moon sells. I tried to past the URL in here but it will not allow me to. There a red color. They are the best I have seen. Also, on the bottom hatch we placed pins in the back and just a 4-40 screw up front. I'll try and post pictures when I have my camera in my hand. Andrew

RE: World Championships Equipment used
Thanks for starting this thread! It is good to see what everyone used. As for me it was hacker C50-14XL and castle ice 80HV controller, Falcon 20x15 prop. Thunder power 10s 5000 mah 25c packs. Alejandro, Thanks for the comments, I really had fun flying in the finals and all pilots flew really good. In the finals I ended up using the 5000mah packs just due to the fact I had only been pulling about 4000mah out per flight. In utah I was using more battery and was concerned I would not have enough power in the wind but that wasn't any issue. Andrew

RE: 3D Hobby Shop Osiris 2M
This airframe for right now is going to be electric only as it will would be making different molds for the nose and we find that its best at the moment to just make it for electric. We think we will have a very good power combo price with the airplane that will allow people to make a switch for a good price that will not break the bank. Andrew

RE: 3D Hobby Shop Osiris 2M
Everette, I completely understand your concerns, that is why I never base my opinions on the prototype for quality as I know the factory puts all there time and effort into making that one plane the best they can, that is why once the factory says all models are complete and ready to ship we surprise them and ask them to airship 4-6 models for our inspection prior to the container leaving port. RE: 3D Hobby Shop Osiris 2M
Doug, Thanks for starting this thread, I'm very excited to get this plane out to the market as there is a great need for something to come out that is priced to get more people into the hobby. As far as quality goes, we shall see how it turns out, but I'm pretty certain we can get it pretty nicely made. Everette, I do not want to have this thread turned around like some of the threads before but before this plane gets here its really hard to call out the airplane for quality when it is not even available. But when I get a final prototype airplane I'll make sure to take a lot of pictures and measurements from the model and make sure its square. Andrew
