ORIGINAL: mimoore67 Thanks! I've been looking at various retracts! I wish Lado-Tech had a 3/8'' Robostrut ready gear! I'll probably be using a robarts with 3/8'' offset sturts and a 105 degree rail mount nose gear. The nose gear will be mounted using a two piece engine mount, so it's the scale location, not back on the firewall. I have a RCV 90SP engine! I've seen these fly with electric power too, and with such a point nose, the electrics keep everything very nice and need! Yeah I Most Likly Use Robarts Also :)
RE: Nitro Models Cessna 421C build and fan page
ORIGINAL: cdbtx *LOL* Now that I think about it... having a few spare motors and esc's is not a bad thing...  Still searching for retracts... saw that Hobby King had the Tigertracts Series I with struts for $135.00... but they're back-ordered.  Lado is back-ordered... Robarts - pricey.. Any other suggestions.  Just received my Hangar 9 P51D Bluenose and it has some very nice retracts... electrical.. wondering if they might be Lado's....
Me Personally I Don't Think The Tiger Tracts Would Be Strong Enough, The Twin Is Pretty Heavy On Landings, I'm At Around 15lbs If You Use Bigger Motors And Battery I Think You'll Hit 16 To 16 1/2lbs. It May Be Best To Install All Your Electronics Your Going To Use And Motor, Get That Weight And Go From There. I Have The Tiger Tracts On My TT-62 Twin And It's At 10lbs The Gear Barely Holds Up On Landings, I Always Have To Adjust The Wheels Again And Again, I Think There Good For About A 8lb Plane.

I Hear Ya, Somtime Things Are Laying Around And Why Not Just Use Them. At Half Throttle You'll Fly A Long Time And Have Plenty Of Power. ;0 The Lights Sounds Very Cool Do It.

RE: Nitro Models Cessna 421C build and fan page
ORIGINAL: cdbtx Just received my 421 this week and started the build. So far so good - canopy arrived crushed and am awaiting a replacement - other than that - probably the same build as most others. Question - I saw that someone was using the Tigertracts - any issues with those? What struts are you using? Overall - love the plane - the finish is outstanding, lots of room to work. Going electic with this one using Power 60's and dual 60 Amp ESC's with 8amp BEC.. Any tips or hints are welcome. Chuck
I Think If You Us Power 60 It Will Be Over Kill Majorly, The Power 46 Run Great On This Twin For A Scale Flight Use 4 Cells, And If You Want Power And Speed Use A 5 Cell Lipo's, It'll Be A Hand Full On Power 46 With 5 Cells, Jumps In The Air Less Than 7 Feet Of Runway. I Can Only Imagine On Flight On Power 60's :)
