RE: century swift 3d rtf
I love mine. took it out of the box, checked over the entire heli, found the tail belt needed to be tighter, checked all screws and setup with my dx7, (silly not too) and put a better tail servo on her and thats it. flys nice ff and does basic flips, rolls, loops, perfect to learn and grow with. the gyro works much better with my new tail servo and I already had two 4s evo 3700 packs, so with the 4s century pack that came with it, I can get three nice flights (mixed light acro and ff) at about 5mins each. good for now. I cut my canopy scoop off the bottom so my battery can mount more forward for perfect cg with no added weight. new decals changed for a better look than the ones that were on the canopy. thats all for awile until I feel the need to upgrade.[;)]

RE: Just Got an SC8!!!
I have had my sc8 for a couple of weeks now and finally had a chance to run it at my track. I like the way it looks and handles. what I dont like is the starting system. I have rounded the hex off the starter shaft and will be getting a starter box asap. also is it normal for their to be some leakage of fuel/oil around the roto start area on the motor, after running for awile? mine runs great and holds its tune nice, (finally). it runs strong and for our smallish track is geared just right. I did change the shock oil and preload shims front and rear to my liking for our track, and she is dialed in nice. I also changed tires to some sportwerks and ofna 17mm rims. today though I did break my front right steering knuckle and have a replacement on the way, sucks. also most places I have looked online have dropped the price some already. I was lucky when getting mine at my lhs as I did not need the radio and got 100.00 off the top. sweet.

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
my lipo has a built in cut off. also if you read your manual it does say that the xl-5 is not lipo compatable, but that is because there is no built in lipo cutoff. if you add a cut off either external or lipo built in then your good to go up to a 2cell lipo. I have run a 3 cell lipo in mine stock, but the motor only lasted a few runs and she was toast. also the speed control is only rated for 9.6 volts at 50 amps, so a 3cell lipo would eventually fry that if run for to long.

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
I ran my stock slash for about a weeks worth of driving and the titan motor went south. I went to my LHS and he had a speed freak trinity motor in stock (13x2) so I bought it and wow, what a difference. he gave me a deal on it ($30) and it is the only thing I have done to mine, the rest is stock. I have a 4000mah 2cell lipo and 20/86 gearing and it runs great, no overheating or problems at all, now to get some tires to hook up at the track and I will be set.

RE: First time rc driver Slash upgrade questions
I have been running my slash for about a week now, still completly stock. I have a vxl brushless that will go in it ,but for now I am using a 3s 3300 lipo in it and it has been going strong for better than a week now driving at least once or twice a day. this is not recommended as the stock brushed 12 turn and xl-5 speed control are only rated for 9.6 volts max, but it is working and I am going to run it like this until somthing goes, since it hauls now. I am surprised really that it has ran so long, it just wont die. also I do keep a eye on motor and speed control temps, and never let it run too long so as not to run my lipo down past 3 volts per cell. all the temps of my lipo, motor and speed control have been well within their limits though so again I have been surprised.

RE: RC8 or HYPER 8.5
8.5 for durability. mine has been bashed to h#ll, and the only thing I ever busted, was a right front knuckle, and that was full speed into the front tire of my full size truck. if anyone says different they are full of it, or trying to do stupid stuff with it that no buggy could withstand.

I have had mine for a month now and have put it through god knows and run it at least a couple times a day no problems at all.
