RE: The funny thing about jets today.....
The jet community is a clique unto themselves. They have the talent and the money to back it up so why not ban together and confront the manufactures. Without customers they will cease to exist. A comment was made about the affordability and quality of H9 ARFs and that too is a misconception. I own a H9 Taylorcraft that has a twisted fuselage and Horizon will not replace.

RE: Improving stability
The wave of the future yes it is. How many beginners in the past just gave up and left the hobby. I learned the hard way both with fixed and rotary winged models. Others don't they just give up. Technology is keeping our hobby alive so accept what it has to offer. Without the advent of exponential I could never have mastered 3D maneuvers.

RE: Securing your AMA field
Losing battle IMO. You catch the vandals and nothing will happen to them. They just will come back and totally destroy what ever is left. Locate some property owned by the city or county than your problems will likely go away.

Contact US companies that manufacture UAV/RPV and you may find a dream job. General Atomics' would be a start.

You my sir have summed it up in a nutshell. I have a hangar full of taildraggers and no two land the same. Some require landing on the mains were others' require a three point stall.

RE: OS 120 AX Problem ?
Sounds more like a fuel meter problem. You have an air leak some place. Check;cyclinder head, back plate, needle valve "O" ring and carb seat. I have used both SlimLine and Bisson mufflers and never had a problem with my OS 160FX.

Horizon and Warranty Policies
I recently purchased a H9 ARF from a distributor and the fuselage was warped. The company was contacted by email and they told me to contact Horizon. I did that and they said they were not responsible since I did not purchase the ARF through them. Buyer beware when dealing with vendors selling Horizon products.

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft
As anyone received a twisted fuselage? When I installed the empanage the horizontal stabilizer was not level and naturally the verticl was out of alignment. I corrected the problem by shimming up the left side of the horizontal mounts. I contacted the distrubitor who directed me to Horizon and Horizon said it was not there problem since I did not purchase it through them. This is a case of customer no service.

RE: Am I the only one who flies pattern with no mixes in their plane ??
Your right however your also wrong. Most old school pattern fliers used the fingers not thumb method to fly. With the advent of computer radios the stick bangers joined the elite club of the pattern fraternity. What this caused was the crash of pattern flying. Without computer assistance how many people would be into large scale 3D? I at one tme flew pattern and still have one. Now I'm into scale and use mixing for quite a few functions.

RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?
Speed is relative that is why you have a throttle. Most if not all pattern airframes are designed to be stable in all three axis. I purchased a used "Vector" and in the beginning I was behind the plane in control inputs but eventually I made my way to the cockpit. Vintage pattern plane designs fly within a wide speed envelope and make you a better pilot in the long run.

RE: Throttle servo buzzing for DLE20
Buzzing is common in coreless servos. The noise is the result of the servo constantly trying to hold its' position. Nothing to worry about.

Bottom line, do you want something that resembles it full scale counterpart and fly accordingly. Or do you want a gnat that flys like a fly.

The pump you want is sold by Hobby Lobby. It is manufactured in Germany by Kavan. Our company purchased these by the hundreds and were used in our aerial targets for the smoke system.
ORIGINAL: wallace.tharp I agree, it is a subject primarily about an airplane and an important historical one at that. I am a WWII and history fan and I have looked ito the Swastika subject. For those interested, and it is fascinating....google/wikipedia the word and be amazed. Hint, the Navajos used the symbol and the Romans put it on floor tile in Spain. It seems to have been originated in India a very long time ago! True, it took Hitler to give it a bad name. Obviously it represents perpetual motion. Does this mean no round red balls in Japan?
ORIGINAL: rye hi i have a C-G chipmuck that i build years ago and havent flown it until now it has a OS-61 siding side ways when i take off i have to give it a lot of left rudder i got the toe set in ,is it because the motor is sideways ? thanks rye
For every action there is an oppposite and equal reation. The rotation of the propellor is the culprit and throttle/rudder management is the key to the solution.

RE: OS 1.20AX Unexplained Flameouts.......>>>
I have run both two and four cycle engines for many years and most of not all problems is fuel metering. Either too much fuel or not enough entering the carburetor. Leaning and riching the fuel/air mixture ratio is the key issue for any set-up.
