RE: Extreme Flight Extra 58"
In answer to your question the 88" Extra is a superb machine, it is the smoothest 50cc plane I have flown, in terms of precision it is brilliant, very precise, but turn the rates up and it is a 3D machine, hovering is sooo easy, I had it on the deck on its maiden and it just sat there, also I had a dead stick on my second flight as I had just retuned the engine, but it certainly is a floater, no problems at all, I think mine has come out at around 16.5lbs which is very light for a 50CC model so the DA50 proves to provide supeb power with the ES pipe. I don''t really want to compare the two planes out right as that would not be a fair judgement, obviously they fly differently due to the size, weight etc etc, but if you are looking to get a 50cc machine, the EF extra is certainly the way to go! Build thread, pics and video here: http://www.rcmf.co.uk/4um/index.php/topic,46011.0.html As for the 78" extra I have not heard anything, the next plane to come from EF will be the electric yak, the replacement for the old 55sp-e taking the same setup as the vanquish this time though. hope this helps regards

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
Got the west engine and pipe now, and its all installed, its s nice tight fit, but atleast I know it aint coming out! Got the rx in now as well, so the rest of the bits should be here tomorrow, only problem is, even when it is finished it is blowing a gale here so no miadens for me  you never know I might get lucky! :D (ever the optimist!) RE: EF 58" Extra-300 BUILD THREAD -- ELECTRIC!
Hi, I believe the ideal glow engine for this plane is the Saito 82 so I dont know whether the 91 may be a bit over kill, I dont think anyone else has tried it with this engine. Here are some glow vids if they are any use to you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMrl6OYRgx0 (saito 82) There is a video comparing the glow and electric extra and the electric has the power over the glow version, I just can't find it at the moment mate!

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
I have recently recieved the outlaw from Dan at Freestyle-rc and boy does it promise to be one hell of an awesome piece of kit! :D I have gone for the orange scheme in this model, lovely covering and a brilliant hardware kit as usual from EF, taking in to account the forces that this model will be undergoing in the air, nice big, strong control horns as well as 4mm rods rather than the conventional smaller and thinner rod. Also included is the engine mount, tank and a few other little bits, including an ally skid to mount in order to stop the needle on the engine from being damaged during landing. Hardware included: First thing to do it to cut the slots for the fins both above the fuz and underneath: Once glued: Then glue the vertical fin in, (this will hold the rudder on as well): I used 30 minute epoxy for all of the cluing which is advisable considering the forces this will under go! I also choose to put 2 extra strengthening pieces in the fuz just for my own piece of mind, there are just triangular pieces again epoxyed in: Next glue the smaller piece of the vertical fin in, this glues to what becomes the hatch to access the inside of the fuz: I then mounted the rudder servo in place, I have chosen to go for Hitec HS635HB servos all round: Note the sturdy control horns: Throttle servo is next, use the supplied servo plat and scre the servo to this before it goes in to the fuz, I used a Hitec HS225MG mini for the throttle as a mini is advised as there is very little room for a std servo, I filed the screws down to sit flush with the plate and then glued the plate in to place in the fuz: The hole is drilled for the rod for the throttle and then the engine mount with the supplied screws and claw bolts already in place can be mounted, along with the metal skid: The hatch can be secured for the time being: And I have chosen to put the decals on at this stage as I am waiting for the servos and engine to complete the model: I will be using the West 36 engine on a pipe The servos are Hitec HS635HB on the elevons and rudder And a Hitec HS225MG mini on throttle Futaba 8Ch rx with an 1100mAh 6.0v battery. Hopefully I should be able to continue the build when the rest of the bits arrive! :D

RE: Extremeflight 88.5" Extra - Build and Fly
well I have finally flown her today along with maidening my 88" yak as well!!! What can I say, I love this plane, it flies so precisely and nicely, it is unbievably light and that shows through when it flies. The engine has more than enough power and the decals certainly finish it when it flies. No coupling on KE and a couple of click of Elevator to get her flying right, managed to get two flights, but felt that confident that 5 minutes in to the maiden I had it hovering on the deck and it just sat there, VERY stable! Will hopefully get some pics up tonight and a short video of the more precise stuff. The extra seems very stable and a capable all rounder plane, the yak is nice to fly but I think it is certainly a dedicated 3D model, whereas the extra is able to give a nice mix, but both superb planes that I can't wait to get back out with! made up Heres the vid form today of the extra second flight, had just been adjusting the engine so hence why I wasn't going too mad and I wanted to see what she would be like flying some precision stuff, verdict: AWESOME!!!! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jL0TwJGGkmU

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!!
I havent checked the temp, but I know what the deadstick was due to on the video, I had retuned the engine after the first flight to get it running sweeter and had set the idle too low, it actually cut on me when I taxed out as well, so thats all that it was I think, but will keep an eye on the temps, thanks mate!

no, the pipe is performing well, nice and quiet and plenty of power, will just get some flying time on the model now to give the engine chance to bed in, but it look very hopeful and I am very impressed with the setup on first impressions!

RE: EF 58" Extra-300 BUILD THREAD -- ELECTRIC!
thanks for the comments, My setup is pretty much stock setup, the motor is the Torque Revolution 4014T/570 Brushless Outrunner and Speed Controler the Airboss Elite 80 Amp ESC. I am running a HItec 5925MG on the rudder and Hitec 225MG minis on the ailerons and a single on for the elevator. The batteries are Flight Power EVO25 3700mAh 5Cell lipos and these contol both the radio gear and the motor with no problems at all, I get 12 mins flying times with these! The AXI you have been recommended would do it but the torque motor is recommended and can produce another 400W on top of the AXI and they are not that expensive, if you want the ultimate setup go for the torque set up, this motor was designed for this model, so it makes sense! hope this helps

there are two white sleeves as well that sit over the UC and butt up against the fuz see pic (above the spats) the black silicon is meant to go in between these wheel pant type things and join them to the fuz, I used a touch a glue and some white sealer as I wanted to keep it all white. hope this helps

RE: EF 58" Extra-300 BUILD THREAD -- ELECTRIC!
If a charger goes up to 5S my guess would be that it should do 3700, I am using the Ultramat 25 charger, which does up to 7S batteries, all I do is set the cpacity in mAh and then how many number of cells the battery has and the charger then automatically sets itself up to charge my battery at 1C, which on the 3700mAh pack is 3.7A
