RE: Torch Engines
ORIGINAL: JEFFRO503 Donnie...i have spoke to you before about these motors , but i forgot to ask....with the T90 and 180cc motors...what headers will fit if a guy wanted to run a canister setup on them? Also....Isn' the torch 1800 about 1lb lighter than the Kroma 180? And one last question....the same guy mr Assis owns both Kroma nd Torch , am i correct? I have a couple QQ 101" yaks that are going to need a good 80cc-90cc motor , but i want to run a canister on it. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what these Torch motors cost. Thanks Donnie!
I am currently using the header designed for a 3W 200 , it will bolt on and is very easy to match port these . I am running a Greeves pipe set-up ..The T90 is selling for $775 , and as of right now I have two in stock . The T90 is as powerfull as the competitor , just a lot smoother . ( Not knocking them ) I will be building a 35%er myself with a T90 and also be running a pipe ..
ORIGINAL: JEFFRO503 What is that spacer between the crab/jug there made out of? Looks like about a 3/8" - 1/2" spacer of some type. Also...quick question for flying skunks or whomever might know. On the torch engine site , most all the engines in the pics are( or look to be) a "cast type" case....these ones i'm seeing pictures of here are all machined aluminum

I know that it will fit in the cowl of the GP yak , Richard has his in a 74"EF Yak , as for the warbird , not sure. I have experience with the T180 in a Godfrey Extra , and soon hope to be putting a T90 in a New 35% Godfrey Laser ..

6pack , just do what a couple of other fliers do/did , make the drive up to Daytona and fly. We have one pilot that makes the trip almost on a weekly basis, the other pilot liked it so much he moved up to the area. [:D]

you will find that Vess props work like no other props on the market today, they give you the "instant" spool-up and the "bite " that is needed to achieve hard core 3D down low.

the weight of the 90 is 2360g (5.1lbs) , as far as mufflers you have the choice of a Johnson "pitts style" or header with pipe or fuse muffler.

I do believe that there is only signal comming from the "servo" lead. The power is supplied of the red and black leads. I could be wrong. [8|]

YouthMasters in Florida
This year on October 18,19 we will be holding a YouthMasters event at Daytona Beach ,we are doing this in conjuction with YouthMasters held at Tripple Tree and under the same guidelines that we followed and operated under at Tripple Tree. The pilots must be 16 and under, have a current AMA card and be ready to have Fun.The aircraft that the pilots will be "competing" with will be supplied. We will break down the pilots down into 2 different classes,(Beginers+experienced). The only aircraft that a pilot needs to bring is a foamie for "Saturday Nite 3D". If you are over the age of 16 you are still come and be the "coaches and field support" for the younger pilots that are "competing" If there are any questions feel free to ask .I was so impressed with what I saw last year at the YouthMasters with my 6 year old son that I could not resist doing something in the same maner here in Florida.I know that there is a lot of Great talent out there in OUR youth and I do not want to see it go to waste, lets give them a weekend just for them and let them Shine.

Torch Engines
just to give the heads-up, there is soon to be (10) Torch 90cc singles to be delivered to my house.[:D] if anybody is interested please let me know. This is a great single to put on a 35% plane that you are trying to keep light, they have a very smooth idle and produce very compairable power to other top named singles on the market today, these are NOT Chinese knock-offs of an engine ,but a purpose built gasoline engine for rc with weight in mind.
