RE: Rtf 3D foamie under 36
At 39", it's wingspan is a tad larger than you're looking for, but I'm not sure if you're willing to allow a tad bit extra or not. Anyways, I'm talking about the Parkzone Typhoon 2. For 3D RTF under 40", you can't go wrong. That's the only 3D RTF that'd I'd trust off the top of my head...hopefully someone else has more suggestions.

RE: What are your other hobbies?
Corvettes are amazing vehicles! I've never hiked 70 miles...yikes. I'm an outdoor guy, so I've had my fair share of hikes and backpacking trips, but nothing like that [X(] I forgot to add that I'm involved with my college's rock climbing and kayaking club to stay outdoors and stay in relatively good fitness. [8D] I have too many hobbies [8|] Wait...having too many hobbies is almost impossible, isn't it? [>:]

What are your other hobbies?
Well, I couldn't find a "general off topic" or similar forum anywhere on this site, so I feel a slight twinge of guilt posting this here, but I couldn't find another option. Plus, I feel this is relevant to Electric flight "General" discussion (just barely relevant [:D]) so I think it'd be an interested thread to learn what all of us do for fun other than build and fly [;)] What are your other hobbies other than RC Airplanes? Personally, I am SCUBA certified and try to dive locally in rivers and quarries whenever I can, and I would love to go on another ocean diving trip when I can afford it. At my college, I'll be taking a SCUBA Safety and Accident Management class to help out with the diving. Also, I'm into motorcycles, but right now all I can do is read about them and drool, because "I can't have one while living under my parents' roof." Thankfully I move out this summer. Lastly, my mom and I have saltwater reef aquariums. Well, she has the larger reef tank, I just have a mantis shrimp tank with Princess the mantis shrimp in there. Youtube "mantis shrimp" if you are interested, you will see some really cool videos. So enough about me, what about you? (Once again, I apologize but I couldn't find another home for this thread)

RE: Parkzone Habu
I can smell some retracts and a beefed up motor in someone's game plan for this [:D] Not my game plan, because I surely don't have the cash to tinker with a new design, but I'd like to get one to toss around. There's nothing like the feeling of adding an EDF jet to the fleet [;)] And the Zfoam is pretty much the standard foam used on almost all of the parkzone planes, meaning it's fairly tought and "gives" easily, but is also easy to glue back. Normally, when something breaks in a crash (that's foam), the Zfoam gives a really clean break. So the repair is almost unnoticable because the pieces "fit like a glove". A little Foam Safe CA to get the two parts reunited and you're good to go. I'll definitely be looking forward to a review.

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark
Thanks for the welcome back Gryph. You're the only one I've recognized other than GG and chippedprop on this thread...sad day. I like the looks of the ARC motor line. What kind of speed do you get with what prop on those? Ugh I would love to grab a MEGA and slap it in one, but this is a budget build and I'm looking for cheaper (but still decent) components for decent speed and vert. More speed than vert preferably. Probably going with HS-81s for servos, I actually think I have an MG around here somewhere. If it works I'll drop it in and grab another MG for it. That'll give me some more confidence in the steering department anyways.

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark
Well hello hello hello you lovely ladies long time no nothing, right? Happy new year everyone. I'm coming back to ask some questions. I have yet to brushless a Stryker in my lifetime, and I haven't flown a real plane in about 2 years. Getting a car absolutely demolished my funding for flying, so all airplanes I already had were flown until I couldn't afford to keep them running. Now, all I want is a brushless stryker to fly, for now. I've got my RC buggy listed on ebay (it's been boxed up for months now) and I'm trying to scrounge together as much money as possible to get some bird up and flying. Being 18 sure doesn't help this hobby does it... My questions are what motors have you guys tossed into these that are decent all around motors? Cheap, decent speed, decent climb rate. The BP-21 was the age old cheapo awesome motor, but I've been out of the loop for a while now and didn't know if we have anything updated or not. Motor and prop used, as well as the performance it gives, would be great! I haven't looked through this thread yet, btw. I don't have that kind of time this week :D

I didn't entirely vanish...
Good evening everyone. It's been probably 1 to 1.5 years since I've been on this site, or even touched an RC vehicle. It sucks, I know. For those that remember me, I was the annoying Sophomore in Highschool that worked at the LHS, quit that job, and was always posting haha. Now, I'm a senior in highschool, with no money on me because school has me too busy to hold onto a job. Girls and cars have taken away any other funds I have, so RC anything is out of the question. My car was only 4900, but with gas and insurance as it is today, It'll be payed off when I'm out of college. I haven't flown or built a plane in year(s). My Stryker and Aerobird (first planes I ever flew) died during the long term storage. My Stryker's rx is dead and the Aerobird might fly...but it's tail is busted up. My gear for my foamies is all in a scratch built, unfinished EPP Ultimate with an eflite motor that was never used. All of this sitting on a cabinet in my garage. My nitro buggy in in pieces in a box because I decided to, after it completely busted a tire, strip the thing and thoroughly clean it, I never re assembled it. The fire may have died down to embers, but the rc bug is still there. Which is easily confirmed when my college major is going to either be mechanical or aerospace engineering. I thought I'd pop back on to see how many of you guys remember me since I vanished. Sorry to all the promises, like "I'll buy an Aerocat and put a Mega on her" and "I'll build an EPP 3D Bipe from scratch", I haven't met those yet. So, hi. How is everyone? -Justin

Wow I love all the DIY stuff! Alright you guys are definately bringing hope back...I guess I spent so much money wanting the best of the best and stuff. Instead of finishing the slightly crusty half bottle of CA, i'd go buy a new one etc etc. I guess I did learn something from it. Finance control! And if I didn't care about college...I definately wouldn't be making this post hahaha I've got a whole bank account that could be emptied in no time.[:D]

RE: How do you afford it?
Yeah I was money drunk when I bought all that stuff...always wanting better and better...I wish I could sell all the stuff I have. I have a nitro car I put a butt load into sitting in pieces in a box. I was going to clean the thing, took it all apart, and now just don't have the willpower or time to put the thing back together. Blade CP heli parts and broken helicopters sitting in a cabinet in the garage untouched for months. Any takers? Maybe I should put up an add in the RC marketplace...as long as I can get SOME money back. Any have any good EPP 3D planes in mind that could last me till I get into a career?[:D]

RE: How do you afford it?
What I really need is a plane that won't break. And to get rid of this EPP and stuff I blew money on...Maybe I can pull a foamy from the pile like a pheonix from the ashes? I dunno. I think I'm going to sell the stuff I'm not using, like my $60 brushless motor that hasn't even seen a plane yet. I think I'm just pounding myself hard because of that attempted build...it was a disaster.

How do you afford it?
Hey guys, some of you may know me, some may not. I've been out of RC for half of a year now, and it's me. I just can't afford it. I'm 17 with a job, but that doesn't help much because 90% of my paychecks go right into savings for my future life outside of highschool. Right now I'd love to get at least one plane flying, but my Tx has sat untouched thanks to an unsuccessful scratch build (which I dropped over $150 on hoping to get a plane out of it, and it went down the tube. The fuse and tail section are still alive in my garage, but can't finish it). I used to have 5 operational aircraft ranging from beginner slow to 3D, and now all are retired or . My question to you is, if you are financially challenged like I am, how do you afford to stay up and flying? Right now I'd kill for just a used wing to fly. Prefferably brushless though [:D]

Well guys I'm having to back out of the hobby quite a bit...
Well guys my worst fear is here. My parents don't like the fact that I'm taking up 2 foldable tables of stuff in the garage with my RC plane, heli, and my nitro 1/8 buggy stuff. So they are making me either throw it away or pack it away...leaving me with very little of my toys left. My nitro buggy is currently dissassembled for cleaning so I have no idea when it will be back in action, and EPP scratchbuilt Ulti remains just a fuse without wings attached but radio gear installed. One helicopter is in for repairs and no parts have been ordered yet. And this leaves me with my Stryker to fly, my Aerobird to fly, my aeroaces of course, and the simulator. None of my ARF built planes are in flying order right now so are being forced to be packed away along with my transmitter and various misc tools. SAD DAY because I don't know when I'll ever see my stuff again. The Stryker is so old and doesn't fly the same (going 2 years plus now), and the Aerobird is boring some days and fun other days... I'll still try and make it to SEFF next year, but I won't be flying.

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan
Should be a good plane! Z foam is now being used quite a lot thanks to the absolute PUNISHMENT the original stryker could take when they made the fuse Z foam. Fairly stiff, extremely glueable stuff. Brushless, 480 to boot. Should be a real powerhouse combined with the Lipo! AND FINALLY!!! A PARKZONE PLANE WITH LANDING GEAR!!!![:D] I love Horizon's RTF branches (Parkzone, Hobbyzone, some Eflite) because they always seem to give us what we want in their next aircraft. The 2.4ghz in the CX2 was awesome and now the new Micro Cessna will have it too. Great company. I work at my LHS and I'll try and get the official ETA on this bird.
Sorry if this is a duplicate post. I lost internet connection ( typical with Comcast )
Not to go off topic or anything, but we used to have Comcast in our house. RE: ParkZone Micro Cessna 210
The only problem I'm seeing is that it is definately going to cost a pretty penny to buy one of this. 150 dollars for a micro is pretty steep but hopefully that means it will fly awesome. Plus 2.4 Ghz, you can't go wrong with that!
oh boy, different stickers and sfg's, isnt that what everyone is doin these days
Dude can you ever be nice about anything? This is the third thread I've seen you bashing something. It really screws up our forum when you do that, so stop being a troll and take your attitude somewhere else Well I wondered how parkzone managed to make the T2 only 10 dollars more than the T1 even with the SFG's and digital servos, and I guess they saved it by putting in a crappy reciever. I hate it when companies do that, we would so much rather pay the 30 dollars more for a glitch free plane, than pay the cheaper money for a problem plane. Has anyone flown this plane and not experienced the glitches?

hey hobbydude214, if you aren't going to answer the question than don't post on the thread. He asked which FLATOUT is the best, and last time I check the Hobby Lobby Yak 55 is not even made by Great Planes, which is why it has Hobby Lobby in its name. As far as the question goes, I would say the Reflection is probably the best out of all of them. The best flyer anyways...the Turmoil is probably tied with it because it flies really well, just not as good as the reflection and it is a bit easier to put together.[;)]

Yeah 400 bucks...the the Raze buggy is absolutely awesome. You pretty much can't break that thing cause those stress tech parts are the strongest things I've ever seen. Plus, if you do break one, they replace it for free within the first 12 months. IMHO, all other duratrax vehicles are crap. RE: Scored big on this one!
Wow got it flying tonight. WOW! Easier to fly than a Blade CP that's for sure. The non motorized tail really held still, which I fell in love with immediately because my BCP's tail always hunted somewhere and I hated that. This tail went where I wanted, when I wanted. But apparently the tail shaft that connects to the tail rotor blades (not the drive shaft in the boom) is really easy to bend. Lol, BUT, it is also easy to re heat and straighten, just like a BCP's main shaft[8|]. Anyways I got in some FF and some accidental FFF, some piroettes both directions, and some hovering. Definately the most stable FP heli I have ever flown. I really scored big on this one![:D] Will try to get a video of my new toy sometime...to show you guys what I'm talking about with stable and stuff. Now I'm not going to recomend a BCP to beginners anymore cause this thing rocks.

Duratrax Raze - Now a Truggy
The super popular Duratrax Raze 1/8 Buggy now has a twin, except the two aren't identical. Duratrax has introduced the Duratrax Raze Truggy, and if it runs as good as the original Buggy it is sure to be a hit! It is RTR and includes: -Duratrax Raze ST Truggy with .27 Super Tiger G27CS Engine w/ pullstart or quikpit shaft start (2 websites said 2 different things) -glow plug (the O.S. #8 is a great replacement) -fully assembled wheels (just like all other RTRs) -FM 3ch Pistol Grip radio (Futaba?) -glow starter (unless it is an upgrade from the original Raze it is crap) -fuel bottle (mostly crap, kind of useful though) Those speccs came from the Tower Hobbies website but I am unsure on some of them as other websites have shown slightly different specs and the new Raze isn't even up on the Duratrax website as of yet. The price tag on the Raze Truggy has climbed sufficiently from the orginal buggy's tag. The Rraze Truggy will run you about $400 plus tax and fuel and other accessories that most experienced nitro addicts will already have. Anyone have a chance to purchase this yet? Or is it still pre-production? I love my Raze buggy which is why I'm so excited about the Truggy.

RE: Scored big on this one!
Yeah if I can get it to fly I'm thinking about putting the CCPM head from my BCP onto it's frame and added a 4th servo for better swash control. It would be an awesome heli if I could make that happen, and then put a HH on her and a 370 inrunner. I'm going to have to stop I'm starting to drool... But you should have seen my dad's face when he walked into the kitchen to see that sitting on the table. His jaw was about to drop, and then my mom said "it's Justin's new toy, it only cost $150" and then I swear he was about to have a heart attack. It was hilarious[:D] I can already predict what was going through his head *not another one not another one oh please not another one*

RE: Scored big on this one!
Yeah Tx, Rx/gyro (what kind of gyro is it anyways?), 3 servos, and an awesome thing is that the tail is non motor driven (I hate how unreliable motor driven tails have been). So I now have a fixed pitch yet shaft driven tail heli. Good thing I have a charger for the NiHM pack and the Lipo pack[:D] Of course, I'm having to take it in to work today to install the motor because me of all people DIDN'T HAVE THE RIGHT SIZED ALLEN WRENCH to install the hex screws for the motor. I stayed up till 11 last night looking around my different work benches for a wrench that would fit. If this thing holds the tail really well, I'm going to convert my Blade to belt driven using the belt drive from this heli. Really sturdy landing skids too...wow what a steal. The price of course still being $0.00 with a tax rate of 0%. Not too bad[:D] Once I get her up and working I'll try and post pics. In the meantime I'll try and research the 22d, we had a hoot at the LHS reading the "English" manual.
