RE: Don Muddiman Flying Machine
EH, I for one have always ruled in favor of the FM over the Hotts, The Hotts is a fun plane, I still have one. I perfer the FM, better design, speed etc. No argument from me. Check my RCU handle....kinda says it all? [:D] Anyways no more debate [>:] The FM is the best thought out design EVER built [;)] I have said it before and will say it again, no other design can compare, not in my life time or another.. [8D]

RE: Don Muddiman Flying Machine
It feels good doesn't it? I TOTALLY agree! The only time I am completely focused on the task at hand is either jumping my dirtbike or flying that FM, the second she leaves the ground magic happens! +1 for RC MANIAC119 MAX!!!!

RE: Don Muddiman Flying Machine
+1 for Tom, I am not looking for an argument, just holes to bore in the sky. I am a true FM die-hard, I have always enjoyed SPEED and aerobatics the FM is the perfect blend of them both, I can not think of a better design, nor will one come along in my life time. I have kept the FM alive at my field, Tom is right I have 3 of these birds and a Midwest Hotts II that I am borrowing the pipe of. Everyone always and I mean ALWAYS asks what is that? When I tell them and then give out a brief history lesson on the plane I have never dissappointed. I know you don't know me Don, but I truly push your design and speak SUPER high of it any chance I get. I will never forget the first time I saw my old friend Oscar fly one, I knew then and there I better hurry up and learn to fly, it truly modivated me to learn to FLY. As long as I am breathing and have two hands, I will be the guy at the field, making all the noise with an FM on a un-muffled pipe running a Rossi, Nothing like the sing of HIGH RPM, it DEMANDS attention. People take notice. Screw electric, screw gas, I am NITRO all the way baby, tuned pipes, HIGH RPM and SPEED, I love the rush, I love the plane, I am done!!!!

RE: Don Muddiman Flying Machine
I agree with Tom..I called them (East RC) a long time ago, at least 2yrs, they are doing NOTHING with the FM. They should pull it from their site.

RE: Don Muddiman Flying Machine
ORIGINAL: Condor060 <div style=''margin: 0in 0in 0pt''><span style=''font-size: 9pt''>These are two different builds not in the original CAD design. One with ply and one balsa. These are just prototypes with a few ideas of a lighter, faster, stronger, aircraft. The guy building the prototypes is a world class glider designer with 300 mph plus gliders doing really crazy stuff. He builds a large portion of the high G load gliders in the market and wanted us to take a look at some new ideas they are using in their newest gliders. The aluminum blocks for the wings will always be a part of the kit.  Once we look at what we have we will make our final changes and start the production.
I like the looks of the bottom FUSE...Until some testing is done (high speed dives and g outs) we won't know. Hey if she passes the test you know I am in. I think the composite FUSE is the way to go..kinda FAI'ish. Anyways we are all bitting our nails here !!!! THIS IS TRULY EXCITING STUFF!

RE: Don Muddiman Flying Machine
Something I learned a long time ago, it helps to remember your last control input to recover from a sticky situation (thanks Oscar) I know this is hard to do with a fast machine like the FM, but every little bit helps. I love the NEON colors and my pink FM is so EASY to see and FLY (thanks to the expertise of Joel/high quality scratch builder). anyways back to the bench!

OK, Rossi .45 speed purchased today, now, I am hunting down a header and tuned pipe. I will break this motor in on an OLD scratch built FM that has MORE than proven herself!
