RE: Powered Parachutes
Not sure how to post pics on here but here is a link to my blog on my Airfoilz Powered Chute on RCGroups. I have since sold it and now working on a 120" SeaBreeze that will be powered with a 15cc RCGF gasoline engine swinging a 14" prop. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1550126 My Airfoilz flew well and I converted it from the way it was intended for a nitro .15 to a 1120kv outrunner turning a 10x7e APC prop. I had a blast with it and as usual it is time to go bigger! There is a video online of a guy flying a 120" chute using a CCRC 26 gas engine. It flies well but to keep weight down and also to be able to mount a cam on it I will be using my 15cc gasser!

RE: Idiots in New York, RC plane buzzing Statue of Liberty & Brooklyn Bridge
ORIGINAL: cj_rumley
ORIGINAL: warningshot What does your answer have to do with making them legal in the UK?
It was in reply to a post from a guy in Michigan.
I remember reading a story in the paper here in MI where a guy had a potato canon in his car on a traffic stop and was arrested by the MI State Police for possessing it. I don't recall that it was because he was aiming or shooting it while driving which he was not so I was lead to believe it was ILLEGAL. Maybe you could dig a little deeper and see if MI has a law against them???? Personally I like the 3 man slingshot! Now that is a lot of fun! Water balloons, gourds, baseballs, large rocks.... P.S., don't use eggs! lol
ORIGINAL: bogbeagle Potato guns are illegal, according to Section 5 of the 1968 Firearms Act. I'm not kidding, either.
You know you're stuff and yes they are! It is basically a cannon/(poor mans RPG) made of pvc that uses aqua-net hairspray as the propellant and it will fire a potato over a half mile with great accuracy! It could probably take out a ultralight or Piper cub if it got into the wrong hands!!![:D]

RE: Idiots in New York, RC plane buzzing Statue of Liberty & Brooklyn Bridge
ORIGINAL: bogbeagle Technically, the pumpkins wouldn't be flying ... so you'll have to seek the authorisation of some Government body, other than the FAA. Surely you have a Federal Bureau which regulates the use of pumpkins? There's probably a couple of dozen people, in a quiet office somewhere, just waiting for a call. (over here, we have the Potato Council ... a taxpayer-funded body which ''seeks to serve and develop the potato-growing industry''.)
Does the Potato council condone the use of potato guns?

RE: Lanzo Old Timer ARF is it the end of the world?
The plane is controlled by Spektrum and uses a Turnigy 3635 outrunner and 30A esc. I am getting over a half hour of flight time on a Turnigy 2200 3S battery and unlimited vertical to get to glide altitude fast. It had a McCoy .35 Red head in it prior. Can you believe no one would give me $35 for it before I converted it to electric??? I am very glad I kept it!!!

Can anyone subscribed here tell me whether this is a Lanzo airplane. Wing is similar but it is not a "Bomber".

RE: wcm 1/4 scale sprint car
I just acquired this one and need new foam for the rims. I believe these are the stock rims because the ones in the picture by the guy that originally started this post look the same. Any ideas as where to buy these? I would like to stick with the original rims. I have paypal if you have a set laying around to part with. Thanks and any additional advice or help would be appreciated~

RE: Oil mix ratio for DLE engines
That is where I fill up my cans for my boats, lawn mower, weedwhacker etc... I saw in a earlier post where someone filled at Shell and had sand in the tank? We dont have that problem here in Niles, only thing I know of is the owner getting pinched a couple of times by Weights and Measures for tampering with the pumps for his personal gain. Not sure how that worked out after fines but they are still selling sand free gasoline...[;)]

RE: Oil mix ratio for DLE engines
Use pennzoil 2 cycle 32:1 mix with 87 octane and you will be fine. I don't care to run anything with a 50:1 mix, too little oil!!! The DLE 30 does not have a hardened sleeve.... Great engine with loads of power for the little that it weighs. I run a 20" APC competition prop and it swings it with ease! Enjoy it and don't seize it up with a 50:1 mix, manual recommends a 30:1 mix so i really do not know why these guys would run 50:1 mix or even suggest it???

Is profane language tolerated on RCU???
Profane language used on RCU on my feedback area is rediculous. Do you have any recommendation as to how I can get this garbage off my rating area or to whom I should talk to about it??? This guy should be banned from this site for language used! http://www.rcuniverse.com/community/profile.cfm?section=ratings&memid=403495

RE: 3 Cyl 049 radial
ORIGINAL: jbirnsch I bought this on feebay last week. It doesn't run for long and I knew that when I bought it. It is just cool. I know that is lost it's pumping action due to the multi cylinders in the same crank case at different timings. If I add a supercharger to the input do you think it would keep running? RB Innovations makes them for small glow engines. Basically forcing air/fuel mix into the CC should keep it running right? Jason
Very awesome Jason! I have never seen a cox .049 like that before. I hope the supercharger you got from me works on it! So does that make it a 1.47 engine??? Very neatto and if it does not work it will look nice in a display...

RE: AMA charges too much
Well Bob, unlike your club RCU does not require AMA. Low prices, BOB. And lastly I am free to offer my opinion, Bob! RCU members, Park Flier's, RENEGADES and AMA'ers are allowed to post here BOB, any other question's??? BOB??? Bob when I decide I don't want to belong to something that I do not care for or stand behind, I simply choose what I want to do! I don't let others dictate my every move. I have current AMA members that drive up to two hours for my flight instruction because they do not feel welcome at their local AMA club that is only 10 minutes from home and want to learn how to fly. And then I spend up to 5 hours per session enjoying my hobby with them at NO COST, try to get that kind of help at a AMA sanctioned club BOB! Do they make that kind of attempt or spend that much time on a newbie at your club BOB? I highly doubt it! 23 years in the HOBBY Bob, I remember how I was treated. Renegade for life BOB... Why didn't you post my entire quote Bob???

RE: AMA charges too much
AMA does not cost me a dime simply because I refuse to pay for NOTHING! Myself and my flying partners are considered RENEGADES by AMA'ers and by AMA standards. Who gives a rip!!! We fly, we crash and we have a hell of a lot more fun than people at the AMA fields(all I hear from clubsters is whining and club politics). I was a member for a year back in the 90's and went clubs locally and to Muncie for what??? Basically I went to Tri-Valley R/C in South Bend, IN to listen to the old guys bitch about us young guys(kinda like NASCAR these days) and then down to Muncie,IN which is a nice place but was treated like a second class citizen. "I don't need that crap nor do I need AMA". I know where the AMA sites are and I simply stay away! I will continue to fly at places I elect to fly at for free and laugh my you know what off when reading stories like this. Grow a pair, take a stand and go fly. If you want to throw your $$ away to AMA that is your choice. If you want to pay club dues and argue about what you can and cannot do at the field go for it! I choose the more inexpensive route which is being a RENAGADE and is more fun and allows me the time to read all these horror stories. And don't let this fact scare you, I give instruction and help many people that are new in the hobby get started all without the AMA. I rarely hear a good story come from a newbie that has ever had the pleasure of going to an AMA sanctioned field to learn how to fly. AMA suck's, get used to it or simply elect to be a RENEGADE! ~FLYIN'J~ [sm=bananahead.gif]
