RE: whats your thoughts on this
except for the twin rudders, what you have there is a Rivets...I think BobHH is kitting his version, I did a set of them but sold them all... check with Steve at select hobbies, he'd have one if Bob did kit it....its fast on a good .049...Rog Oh and if you make it fixed wing your gonna need a good sized hatch opening to get the servos and battery and rx and get it balanced the rivets is a 28 inch wingspan and about 20 inches long so its a tight fit and a critical balance.. the wing is the hatch on the rivets and its also designed for a tanked engine not a product engine

RE: 10 size pylon racer (need your advice!)
We talked here once awhile back about getting a kit made and everyone with the same engine...but if you guys are needing arf's and I get that too..there are lots of lecky planes out there that can be converted that would run on a .10 engine....someone is always converting some plane either glow to lecky or vice versa...Rog

RE: Anyone get their credit/debit card info stolen lately?
Tim got back to me but didnt say who it was....never use a debit card online...I have one debit card and one credit card and I only use the credit card online,,other than that if I cant buy it I cant have it....BobHH, I heard a story years back that yours reminded me off,,this girl found out her boyfriend was messing around on her and asked her to feed the fish/water the plants whatever while he took off for a weekend "business" trip..so she gets to his apartment and calls a sex hotline in China or Japan not sure which and just lays the receiver down on the table and the guy comes home to a $10k phone bill!!...thats mean dudette! Alot of times a bank will stop debit/credit cards if there is small activity..like someone will charge a candy bar a couple of times to see if an account is active then go for one big purchase.....Tim get back out there flying bud...Rog Bruce pm is coming...

RE: laminating sheet tail surfaces.
ORIGINAL: combatpigg The way to keep things flat is to not use water based glue for laminating! [;)] I've heard about applying a bare scraping of Elmers to both sides, let it dry, then iron the sheets together. I'm usually too busy using techniques that I know will get planes done to try out new ones.
About 40 years ago my mother bought a piano, they were packed in mahogany crates,, my dad asked if he could have the crate, guy said sure...came back from a long weekend in the mountains to find 12 mahogany crates in the back yard...dad and I got to work stripping them (right after he called to stop any more from coming)...long story short we built a solid mahogany bar in the basement,,,with clamps and snoopy school glue,,its still standing and still flat...Rog

RE: laminating sheet tail surfaces.
I have laminated 1/16 balsa to make 1/8th , you cut out the part you need evelator or whatever then use the spray glue or white if you have time for it to dry, and then cut and sand to the original piece size and as you say "voila"...have done this several times..Rog

RE: Good Plane for .074?
I got the Goldberg chipmonk (like Mr Cox)and tiger 400, put the .074 in the tiger and it was a sweet flyer, but a memory now..and the chipmonk I left lecky for now..stuffing the .074 in my skydrill with larger front wheels for rough field take off tail dragger but no rear wheel just a wire skid...shouldnt take more than a few feet to take off, course its been on the building table for a year now...there are so many arfs out there for leckys, or skaliwags site select hobbies and check out early rc's baby stick it flew great on the .074 lazer cut well....Rog

RE: Norvel .074 - when is tight too tight?
Duke, the .074's in the old LMH helis were notorious for bending rods,,I ended up putting either 6 or 8 head shims in mine to break it in and it still had plenty o' power on tap....just a good suggestion for breakin, if you can get or make the shims...Rog
