RE: MODEL AIRPLANES STORAGE WARS AUCTION FULTON NEW YORK
The laws vary from state to state but here in NC after the 60 to 180 days (per the contract) the owner of the rental unit can pick through whatever they want..and usually its junk or furniture that no 0ne wants so they quit paying for it...so then the owner has an auction comp come in ,, but as stated its staged for TV...heck I had a friend who wins all the police auctions, buy lots online of junk and he said because of all the tv hype,,theres no junk left! watch storage wars and see/hear them prices stuff crazy.."oh yeah I can get thousands for these 2 camera lenses" its crazy...Rog

RE: a little big for 1/2A but 15 size
These are the small ones...more popular now than ever Once you get past ~.25 it pretty much goes to .40-.46 and you learn alot in the Beginner forum about those...trainers need .40 engines for the most part...because thats what the hobby was/is pushing at the time..I am an oldtimer here and dont post like I once did, but for still many of us here the Herr Lil Extra was built for the Norvel .074 (mine wouldnt fly it) but we immediatly subbed in .15 engines and it is a sweet combo!..alot of us followed the lecky planes when they first became hot a few years back and glued an .049 on them..I bought a $5 foam plane at KMart and cut 6" off the nose and made a back plate to mount a cox golden bee .049 to...once I finally got it right and flew it a few times , it shook itself apart in midair..but it was a blast to do...it was Dickeybird that told me how...Piper Chuck, havent seen you in a long time,,but he made it to one of my old flyins once or twice...I have been "out of the hobby" as in havent flown for 2years?...life gets complicated and rc falls by the wayside fast when it does.....I shouldnt have commented on the 2nd posters thoughts "Mr 100 posts" was inappropriate...sometimes we all get a nerve struck...Raindave is a guitar player in a band in Greensboro,NC...Ptulmer dont know that one he came up from Georgia for one of my meets.. we were the Carolina 1/2A Crew ...they were a blast...one fine day I'll get back into it...ok thats enough of a rant from me....but its a hobby, ya know, something we enjoy, it can be an expensive hobby which doesnt help with tensions, but we as a rule dont want to get technical enough to bother each other...I'm in lots of forums all over the web and my other hobby is motorcycles (I have 5) and theres plenty of "well if you dont ride x bike your a wuss"...and on this forum we have had disccussions on anything from motorcycles. gutiars, dogs, video games..you name it ...all of it inappropriate, but friendly....thats the main thing....Rog

RE: a little big for 1/2A but 15 size
ORIGINAL: nitroairplane I really don't see a problem. the 1/2a  forum at RCU is for planes that are .15 or smaller so really it does belong here it is a bit just like posting eBay finds maybe we should make an eBay and other finds thread so nobody gets upset.
As a rule its .25 or lower and no the mods arent gonna ask for an "ebay and other finds" forum as it is direct competition...this has been discussed before, they sometimes allow an ebay notice if say..I had said I was looking for a cox .010 engine and someone here popped up with "hey theres one on the bay for $xx" just as info to pass on to me..might be better to pm me, but there are probably others interested in the same engine...just an example.. and thats all Airraptor was doing inititally but with RCUs own sales/ads...Rog

RE: a little big for 1/2A but 15 size
Its just a heads up for the sales/ads dept here at RCU...in the most likely forum to generate interest in that size plane.(much like when the local paper places ads for its own ads services in the ad section)...and there is no such thing as an incorrect opinion , hence the word opinion...Rog
ORIGINAL: batdog Moderator .These type posting are getting more frequent and should be removed in a timely manner
We all have opinions, Mr 100 posts..but this is pretty much the only forum that size plane belongs in..plus it is RCUs own sales section so I'm pretty sure the Mod is fine with it....Rog

RE: TD .010 Powered Spruce Goose
That was cool!!!!..at one of the carolina 1/2a crew flyins Raymond had a 3 engined stick and we got it going and topped off with fuel and it flew great and the .010s all stopped within about 10 seconds of each other,,there was whoopin and hollerin for that too...but alas Raymond has gone lecky and the crew has disbanded mostly because of me... perchance one day we will get together again,,the SMALL would give me an excuse to visit my sister who just moved to Nashville...hmmm...Rog

RE: NVEngines
ORIGINAL: Sport_Pilot Bought one labor day.  Son wants to do the BNF electric, but I don't like electric.   So I thought I would give 1/2 a a try.  Thinking of buying a hummer.  I also have a Cox TD, and a Cox Black Widow.  I have an old Goldburgh 1/2 A blazer kit but am almost afraid of building it, I think I woule like to keep the kit as a collectors item.  Know anybody that can cut a kit?  Not sure if I want to part with the plans.
You probably dont want a hummer unless your a real builder, as I recall its a box of balsa you sand into a plane...PM Skaliwag he has a similar kit, easier to build, I was about finished with mine when one of my dogs turned it into a chew toy in seconds...Rog
