RE: Pre-Maiden Jitters
I love that feeling . because it reminds me that I'm alive . I recently maidened my GP WACO ,, I turned down some earlier attempts because things just were'nt right .. But one of the things I do is I bring a friend with me who is very experinced , and is very calm when things look ike they may go bad . My maiden went off like a good dream .. every thing went right . but , I did have to sit down for about 10 min afterwards . Love them jitters ..

RE: E-Flite retracts
Well to all that have been following this thread ,, I've started having trouble with my retracts too . I first started with them powering up off the flight battery, that was ok for a little while then they started stalling on me and using a l;ot of juice ... Now I have them hooked up to a deducated power supply with a 6v life battery . Got wiring diagram from this thread . But one side would fail to cycle only about about once in 6 trys .. When it was mounted in the plane , it was very sporadic, take it out and it worked every time . It was detrimined that there was a slight shift in the retract to cause it not to cycle . I put a 5/32 washer under the 2 screws closest to the wheel . This let it shift , but not shut off . now they work ... if they don't I'll post up ..

RE: E-Flite retracts
Well Idris... good luck on whatever brand or type of retract you choose . Between my friends and I we have hundreds of no problem take offs and landings with them , and not all of them perfect either, some landings are fairly rough. Yeah I trust these retracts so much , that I'm putting them in 2 more planes. A 65 inch P-47 , and a 72 inch Spitfire . About $1800 worth of planes . Good l;uck to you ..

RE: E-Flite retracts
Hmmmm ... it seems that maybe you could have a faulty pair of retracts .... I run mine off my rx battery.. 6volt 1500mah , this will give me more than enough juice to fly my planes . When they were connected to a 4.8 voly battery , yes they struggled. You are'nt flying a electric power are you ?

RE: Spitfire Brotherhood (All Spitfires Welcome)
Hmmm .... sound like something I would have done ... I feel the best way to correct this problem is just cut the flaps off the wing . If you want to have them , cut some slots in the flap , and use CA hinges to reconnect them . From what I know about the H-9 Spit , a lot of pilots say that the plane land well without them .... Just my 2 c worth ...
