RE: Fresno 2012 Jet Rally, no turbines?
ORIGINAL: John Redman Hey John, Couldn't say screw you to you, you have always been up front and great with myself and other jet guys from the California area. I look at you as a friend and respect what you have done in the past for the jet community. The post on here from Al speaking for the ''field/club'' is the disheartening point. He seems to have more than a serious grudge for some reason. As noted in the thread, the Fresno Jets of times past was always one of the great jet events we had in California, if not the greatest. I think most would agree. I do remember a thread in the past couple of years with guys looking for information on the Fresno event. They could not find anything here. This was the recent past. Also for Rick and George to show up and be about the only ones there that sends a message. The message is more on communication than anything else, and it has been echoed here. If you are planning on an EDF event I wish you the best. At least this year there is talk of the event and that always brings pilots out. So keep it in perspective and understand most on this thread are DONE with Al and his words which are from your club and facility: Like it or not. Going to take some work on your part to fix that. I wish you the best and tell Dave I said hi as well.
Actually Rick and George left way early, it was Chris and me there the whole time. If look at the pics from the event. It's our planes and thats about it, but still a great time. John I still remember your generosity when I lost my firebird at Fresno, I also recall the Green Scooby Doo Jet! Hope to see you out there again! Best wishes, Kevin G

Yep, you covered last year pretty well, me and Chris got there and had the whole place pretty much too ourselves the whole weekend! I hope they get it together and can put on a event as this was one of the most enjoyable for me in the past, even if it's where I put in my Firebird a few years ago! Where are you Dave!

RE: E-Flite F4 EDF
ORIGINAL: WHMC Test flew my F-4 today. Very impressed with the flying envelope, goes very fast and PUUTS around half throttle real well. Built stock per plans and addenum. Set elevator throw at leading edge of stab. I did notice on landing when you throttle down a little extra elevator required as the sink rate increases more so than say a Habu. Flew ail. low and elev. mid., two clicks of up, trimmed and on its way. Weight 7lbs. 1oz ready to go. Thought it was going to be a handful however pleasantly suprised how well it flies and lands. Have fun guys and definately worth the wait! WHMC STL
Good Deal, sounds like a winner!

RE: parkzone habu (newbie to electric)
ORIGINAL: geeter my advice, don't fly the habu on anything but the recomended 4 cell lipo. a 3 will not give the power for take off. don't throw the plane either. take it off the ground. don't use a five cell li-po either. it will burn the esc out. use the plane the way it is intended for, and enjoy it. later a esc upgrade and more mah li-po and five cells may be possable. check the motor rating for voltage also it may need to be up graded too. there are retracts avail, for getting more speed that would help and cost less than a new esc, motor and higher rated li-po battery...........good luck.....RON
Actually the stock Eflite ESC IS able to use 5 cell lipos . Read the manual and you can set it up to run 5 cells. Problem is the stock Habu Eflite motor will NOT take it, well not for long.

RE: HABU 32?
ORIGINAL: Hellcat716 I have just finished putting the Habu 32 together and I am concerned about the fit of the wing to the fuselage. I can wiggle the tip of the wing back and forth about 1/32''. The fit is tight at the spar but has a bit of gap at the front of the wing where it meets the fuselage. Both sides are this way. Is this normal on the model and if so any problems when flying? Thanks for any info.
Just put a shim on the rear pin until it feels tight. Very common thing on these Habu's

Doppler it stock at 118mph on 6s 151mph on 8s these were in pretty steep dives enjoy.
Awesome, thanks for doing the leg work there on that flight! RE: Multiplex Twister EDF
PS, I used on the above airplane a stick that goes through the sides to secure the canopy. I used nyrod pieces in the foam then run the stick through with one end having a little ball to help grab it out. Works fantastic, no worries ever.

RE: Multiplex Twister EDF
I made mine from a hobby store one. Pretty easy, just bring your foam one with you and match the size, cut it and I used the original as a frame ,slit it put the clear canopy in with some glue and done. A little model magic for the inperfections and ready to paint the frame. I hope this makes sense and helps!

RE: HABU HOP UP????
TP 3250 45c 4 cell gives me 1080 watts and the best speed so far. I'm trying to talk Chris into using his turbine in the Habu, but still that is what 3 pounds of thrust?

RE: HABU HOP UP????
ORIGINAL: acw I tried my habu today with 5 cells and stock motor / speed controller. The performance is much better but the speed controller got hot and shut down after 1mn 30 seconds of WOT flight. Â On a subsequent flight, I got to 3mn by not flying full power and then the speed controller shut down again. - it is very interesting to note that the speed controller shuts down and doesn't burn - the 5 cell 3300 mah battery fits perfectly without mod. Â I just had to add some weight in the back. - The CG is a little forward with the 5 cells and a little backward with the 4 cells. That way the plane flies with both without changing any weight. I'll try it soon with an 80A speed controller. Arnaud
Did you use the stock esc with 5 cells? If so you have to change it to 5 cells

RE: My parkzone HABU
ORIGINAL: perfeet I ran my Habu on 5s for three flights. It flies great. New 80A esc. Fan/motor stock. Unlimited vertical! According to posts in another forum most agree that the motor can handle 5s if not going WOT for long periods of time. I had 15-30 second periods with WOT in my flights yesterday. The power systems seems to handle that without any problems Time will tell if the motor will hold up, but so far it looks good <img src=''http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/regular_smile.gif'' alt='''' />
Good deal! I have a twister that I run with 4cells and I heard the same thing about it frying but after almost three years it runs fine, but again I use the throttle to keep it FROM frying. The esc that comes with the Habu IS a 5cell speed control so no worries! Have fun and let us know if you encounter any issue! Thanks!

RE: My parkzone HABU
ORIGINAL: n411x@hotmail.com Has anyone run a 5 cell pack with this EDF system???
Not from reviewing the thread, alot of what if's but no actual flight tests. The esc can do 5 cells, only thing would be throttle control and use a meter to see what you get first. I have ran the Twister stock motor on 4 cells which is for 3 cells and it's still going after two years, but I manage the throttle well. Bury the throttle all the time and the motor probably wont put out for long. I'll tell you the 1080 watts I get on the Habu with the 4 cell TP3250 45C is pretty decent.
