RE: SLASH RACING in POWHATAN VA.
i do not know. we've been looking and can't find anything really that looks good and will be reliable. i guess brushed motors are getting to be a thing of the past with all the brushless setups that are out. lots of them have been discontinued. i've been researching the ezrun brushless setups and people really seem to like them. for $70 you can get the esc and motor. they have them at hobbycity.com. the downside is it takes a couple weeks to get here from hong kong.

30c is the power they supply. means more power delivered to the esc than say a 20c battery. i'm new to lipo's also but learning alot. i have question for you guys. what motors are you all running. we're having a hard time finding good brushed motors that are inexspensive.

RE: Engine Break-in during Cold Weather
i've run lots of traxxas engines and everyone has run hot no matter what fuel i've run. breakin needs to be 200-230 minimum. normal running temp after should be 250-270 or they just don't run well. 300ft is more than enough room for breakin. the heat cycle method i use is as follows. make sure you use a GOOD temp gun like a raytec and not duratrax or the like (they are know to be 30-60 degree's off true temp). no more than 1/4 to 1/2 throttle during breakin. get it up to 220 run for 2 min. shut it down let it cool. 3 cycles like this get up to 240 run for 3 min. shut it down let it cool. 3 cycles like this. get up to 250-270 for 4 min. shut it down let it cool. 3 cycles like this. after EVERY cycle from the start put piston at top dead center for cooling. it is time consuming but works incredibly well and engines hold a tune much better and last longer.

RE: The Official Traxxas 4wd Slash Thread...
t9dragon ok yes thats 1/10 and comparable to the slash 4x4 fine no problem there. but slimjimzrule never said anything about 1/8 scale and "happywing" chimes in about 1/8 scale. i was just trying to find out what he's talking about. maybe he's just trying to justify all the money he spent on the mugen's in his sig [:D] i mean 1/10 is 1/10 scale and 1/8 scale is 1/8 scale they shouldn't be compared anyways..

happywing lets see?. there really is no comparing them. one is 1/10 and one is 1/8. so whats your point?. he never said it was or is better than an 1/8 scale[8|].

RE: castle creations sidewinder esc
sorry. it's in a hyper mini ste. stock spur gear (42t i beleive) and stock 14 tooth pinion. lol weather should be fine. gearing is fine according to a castle e-mail i got. they even say to run a minimum 4000 mah lipo. now the 3200 i ran seemed to run great but i only did 4-5 laps with it but it never dropped off in speed or power. now the 2200 i got about 100ft and it dropped off in speed to real slow maybe 5mph. i think from a standing start to full speed under full throttle the 2200 just couldn't deliver the amp's. it's all good though i now will have enough lipo's for quite a while [:D].

RE: castle creations sidewinder esc
ok it's a brand new c/c 4600 motor, sidewinder esc. the battery was fully charged. 3 cell 2200 mah. docman2 ( not my battery (scott's). i also ran his 3200 2 cell and it was fine. i'm thinking it is the battery has too low mah rating. i'm not sure what the "c" rating is on his 2200. oh'well i have 2 5000 mah 2 cell's on the way so i shouldn't have an issue. thanks for all the input guys.

RE: hyper mini ste
the crt.5 and mini hyper ste don't need the adapters. all you need are 2.2 wheels and tires of your choice. stock slash and stampede wheels and tires bolt right on also. and yes selling in threads is against the rules. just letting you know because i've gotten warned by the mods for it also.

yes thats what the manual says but it does not run right with a 3 cell 2200 lipo. fast for the first 100ft then real slow. 2 cell 3200 is fine.

please ignore the above post[:'(]. does anyone have a computer screenshot of the stock settings of the esc. i'm wondering what your stock (default) settings are for lipo's. i have a castle link coming and want to compare them. i think my lipo setting may be wrong out of the box.

it's called buying advertising. if you pay them enough they will reveiw just about anything. redcat is spending a bunch of money BUT they are making it back in sales. no different than any other company.

if you want something for snow get the proline dirt paws or badlands. i have both in the 2.2 size and they fit 12mm hubs. or like said before paddle tires. just don't nail the throttle from a dead stop or you will dig a hole and bury it lol.
