RE: K&B 3.5
yes they are meant to slip on and off to replace the trust washer which goes between output shaft housing and the dog drive , the dog drive should have 2 allen set screws to tighten against the output shaft , i recommend a little loctite on each for vibration purposes. the thing you want to watch for is wear in the housing keep it well lubed with water proof grease and a well balanced prop or you are going to go through alot of output shafts , i found out the hard way , i have a k&b 7.5 outboard motor on a prather lap cat 2. well best of luck hope that was helpfull

RE: turning fin
the run you seen , i just got done lowering the motor a 1/4 " inch, i started the day 1/8 " above instruction specs for motor ht. and was dropping it at 1/8 " increments, when it flipped over, i was like yeah it did something different , i took it as a sign and called it a day. yes it was a little rich butt i could never get it to plane right to warm it up and fine tune the carb. oh yeah i even tried adjusting the neg. & post. tilt on the motor, a guy suggested while i was there. i want to thank you for your help ,

RE: k&b outboard
usually the hgt of the prop is 1/8 to 14 inch above the lowest point at the rear of the sponsons. you should have neg. angle and c/g should be 25-30 % foward of transom , basiclly you wigh the boat complete even fuel, then measure the entire boat from rear of motor to top of boat. with that multiply that times 8 then multiply that # by 0.30 , with that sum divide it by 8 and that will give you mesurement foward from the ear of the transom. ( if yuor mesurement had a exp. 33 3/16of an inch or 33 3/4 , if you use the formula i gave you it includes it into the mathmatics ) then go fin you a dowel or pvc pipe fasten it to a board and you can use that to balance it, keep the fuel in untill balanced use lead wghts silicone to inside of boat this is information is just for outboards motors , inboards are harder because you have to do this while your building the boat for motor location. i ope this helps and not confuse you more , hit me back what you come up with , later
