RE: Dirt cheap 100cc airframe?
Nitroplanes uses thinner plywood then the better built planes, better built planes are at the buyer specs for better glue and better grade plywood, but I don't see anything wrong with a person starting out with a cheaper airframe, may need to reglue all joints and up grade a few item and go have fun, later down the road, he or she will up grade to a better built model [:D][:D][:D]

RE: Old school funtana 90
[8D][8D] The main thing is that the funtana is a nice flying plane with a gasser on it, and will hover at half throttle, a nice 3D plane or for just flying around.

[:)][:)][:)] Well I have 7 funtana, Im using a SPE 26cc side mount carb, my funtana flies nice, it weighs 11.8lb, my buddy has the funtana 90, with a DLE 30cc, it flies real nice, using the stock CG, weigh is not a issue.

RE: Dirt cheap 100cc airframe?
[8D][8D] Well, you have to remember, at most nice flying field, they have a safety person there, and they already know most of the flyer, most guys tell everybody what they are going to buy, and I like NitroPlanes models, they have a lot of people buying there product, I think Hobby king is #1, for selling r/c item in the world, at my field, the Hawksrc, we have about 23 nitroplanes models flying, no issue, some did mods, and some didn't, the 100cc nitroplanes model flies nice, it's no IMAC plane, but for the money, a nice step up to Giant Scale [:D][:D][:D][:D]

RE: Dirt cheap 100cc airframe?
[8|][8|], Sound like you are bitter, over affordable airframe, a large 100cc, for a new person stepping his game up, is wonderful, I started that way, and now, I have a 40% Robert Godfrey Extra 300, AeroWorks 150cc Yak-54, 35% QQ Yak-54, 2-33% SD/TOC Yak-54 and the 33% Great Planes Extra 300, but I started with a cheap airframe, so if I crash, the cost would be a lot less, you need to remember, all ARF airframe are made in china, from AeroWorks to Extreme Flight models, so don't knock a person that coming up to be the next XFC winner, God Love all of USE, and So do I, Happy Flying !!!!!!

AeroWorks 150cc YAK-54, Project
Well, back in march, I was talk in to going to the Biggest R/C Swap Meet on the east coast, down in Perry, Ga. 1100 table [:D], I pickup a 40% Carden Edge 540 and a AeroWorks 150cc Yak-54, and a couple other item, like a DX7s for $230.00, a lot of good deals, well I sold the Carden, to fund the YAK-54, the Yak needs a right wing and a engine cowl, well I posted wanted ads, three guys, saying they had wings, but all three guys fell thru, so I found a club member, to rebuild the right wing, AeroWorks is asking $450.00 plus shipping for the right wing, and not in stock, cheaper to rebuild it, here are some pics.[8|][8|]

RE: DLE-111 first start... warranty used, but things are looking good.
If you pick this engine up from somebody, the person had a prop srike or a crash, the hub didn't look bent when it was spinning, maybe you over tight the prop, was the prop new or used ???, the prop coming off like that would bent the shaft, if the shaft was bent you would not had ran the engine that long, it did not look bent when it was running, tower hobby sell crankshaft for around $100.00, if you don't want to fix it I would buy it, I have 3 of them, dam good engine !!!!!!!!

[8D][8D][8D] The guys at your field need to check their equipment, 2.4 is the best thing that happen to the RC world, I fly a 40% Robert Godfrey Extra 300 on a DX6i, I found on the smaller gas planes that a bad spark plug can cause a high signal that the receiver can pick up, on the 40% plane that took a hit, was the receiver blinking ?????????????, everybody are quick to blame 2.4, just like before 2.4 came out, everybody on 72 would say !!! I GOT HIT THAT WAY I CRASHED !!!, a bunch of crap ????????????[&o][&o][&o][&o]
