RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
quick ? I was running my BB and it stopped, i noticed one back wheel locked. Now when you start it its a pain and the wheels don't turn at the RPM as before, but the motor RPM does. I checked the clutch spring and it is fine.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
The car is not that responsive to the transmitter, I changed all the batteries so could the crystals be going bad. I also can't get it to run right like before, it either sounds like its flooding or not enough fuel. I tried adjusting but I have to adjust while I'm running it, longer I run it I have to make adjustments to be able to keep running.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
I found the problem. It was the wheel rubbing on the hub carrier. I tightened it so it wouldn't come off, but it was dragging, I unsnug a little to turn now is working fine, but the wheel comes off after 1/2hr run time. I also found grit in the dif from sand mixing with the grease. I also put back in the original clutch with the traxxes spring, runs great now. Only thing left is to replace the pipe, since I broke from a wipe-out, LOL.

Yes, it starts to turn high higher RPM than usual. The others turn fine but not the 1 back. I thought something was maybe jammed at the dog bone, but I found nothing. I'm able to turn free by hand, but not when driving

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
Now one of the back wheels won't turn. It rotates when the RPM is very high, but other than that it won't rotate the same time as the other does. It locks up, but i can turn it by hand

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
whats a good rim to use. I got a pair of Proline bow tie tires coming for the back. These factory tires just don't cut it. I run more on pavement then dirt. What is a good tire for dirt, when I decide to run dirt. Also what is a tuned pipe and header that will bolt straight on.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
I bought the hop hop parts for the front drive, universal trans shafts. How do the install. I took out the large bearing so they would set in place, but they seem to long, the upper a arm will not connect and since they are long, the shafts bind the wheels from turning. This was ordered by the PN listed in the book, is there something else I need to do or do I need the hub upgrades before they will fit.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
Mine started to ding, I removed the bearing to find that it started to come apart. Also, is there any other trans shafts I can use on the front wheels. I ran my car and one of the dog bones vanished form the front. I tried getting replacements from Redcat but they said to use another, don't carry the one listed in the manual. It is the 84mm shaft, the ones they said to buy is like 1/8" to long.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
If the 22t and 17t gears are F thread and the bell is M thread, then all you do is thread the 22t on first(will be closest to block) and then the 17t. The clutch bell is easy, just remove the allen bolt at the end holding it in place(watch for the washers that are there), remove the 2 ball bearings that are in the old bell and install them in the new bell. Same removal as if replacing the clutch spring. Just install the new reverse as the old is removed.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
the carb should have a opening , like a half moon, at the rotary. if it dies when appling the brake. It could be rotary is closing all the way. I went through the same thing a week ago. Also, the inching screw should be flush and I think(not sure) the needle valve should be about 2 1/2 turns out. You should have a slight opening at the rotary when the brake is applied. Another problem I had was a cracked carb. Also I had a problem with the clutch spring breaking twice, changed all those parts and haven't had a problem since. Sorry That I couldn't be more help.

I got the clutch to work. Now I just need to find the 2 throttle gears. I looked at the pinon gears, and you can see where the throttle gears are taken the color of the tips. The throttle gears are bad also anyway. These factory parts seem really cheap. WOULD THIS BE THE ONE http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCLR6&P=M and http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCLR7&P=M
