If you make a cowl plug and send it to me I'd be happy to make your molds and parts. I also would like to build one of those birds. Perhaps we can work out a trade parts for parts or something.

RE: Mold release removal
You use water to clean the part. You must sand a new fiberglass part, 220 grit is best to ruff up the surface. You must also use the proper primer. If you can scratch the primer off with your fingernail it is not the right one for fiberglass. A clean scuffed surface and the correct primer are essential for a successful paint job.

[quote]ORIGINAL: frequent flyer David I finished the molds for the Arrow 40 Deck and the Skymaster 20 Deck a couple of days ago. I laid up the first parts yesterday. The info I need is what do you like. The Arrow 40 Deck weight of the original is 42.5 grams and it appears to be one layer of 6oz. cloth and fairly thin as you had mentioned. The Skymaster 20 Deck also looks like one layer of 6oz

In the pictures below I have made one of each Decks using two layers of 5.7 oz. cloth the Arrow 40 Deck weight is 67.5 grams about an once more but much stronger. The Skymaster 20 Deck is made the same way. Its weight is 46.2 grams. a gain of 20 grams. Is this aceptable? Don
