ORIGINAL: Silent-AV8R
ORIGINAL: Skaluf Well, yes and no. The program is Futaba, but the aircraft/vehicles will be another manufacturer. Steve
Well that sort of clears it up. Futaba builds the TX's and the other manufacturers the airplanes.............

RE: Why Futaba does not offer BNF?????
ORIGINAL: Silent-AV8R The point you are missing is that these are called "Futaba Transmtter Ready". In other words, no transmitter comes with them. They will have a FHSS compatible receiver in them. The airframe and everything else is a Great Planes/Hobbico product. Futaba makes little, if anything, that comes with the FTR products. You will HAVE to use a Futaba transmitter since those will be the ONLY transmitter that will work with the FTR planes that Great Planes will be selling. Again, no transmitter comes with it.
That's exactly the same reason that I bought a new Futaba 6J for the FTR airplanes(and cheaper receivers) because I'm a Futaba fan and I was almost going to get a DX7.................
ORIGINAL: Silent-AV8R
ORIGINAL: frivera12 I have my 6J waiting for what Futaba has to offer with the FTR's. We'll see soon...........
To be clear, Futaba is not doing the FTR. Great Planes/Hobbico is doing them. They have an arrangement with Futaba that allows them to do so. But Futaba itself is not doing the planes.
This has been discussed before. Great

RE: Futaba
I think I'm going to get a 6J and wait for what Futaba will offer with the "FTR". Another plus is that FHSS receivers are almost half of what the FAAST costs.

RE: Why Futaba does not offer BNF?????
ORIGINAL: Bruno Stachel So will I be able to use my 6EX if and when BNF becomes abailable? Or will it be outdated as my DX6 is? I'm concerned that we're about to enter a game where transmitters will need to be replaced a bit more often than I would like.
I'm in the same situation. I'm currently flying the 6EX(been great with no problems so far) but from the information I have gathered from other forums the 6EX and 7C will be become dinosaurs very soon. I think if these FTR's airplanes become available soon one option is to get a Futaba 6J or wait for the 8J. The other Futaba radios will be in the upper leagues..............If not the DX's are readily available .........

RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF
Very succesful maiden flight for my 2nd Escapade. Most of the flight was done at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle and that was plenty of fast. Nice combo with the 55ax with good fuel economy.
