RE: WACO YMF
The sig cougar is a great plane. Unfortunately mine sucommed to a bad cell in the battery. It does have a foam wing with 1/64 balsa sheeting as I recall it is a mid wing. The cavalier is also a mid wing with very long and spindly landing gear. There is one more in the series but I can not recall the name of it, and I think it was a low wing. Possibly the patriot. Regardless of the name they are all very aerobatic but stable planes

Amen on the Newcastle Brown Ale. Also if you go down under, you must try Swan, available only in western Australia. For you Canadians I highly reccomend Schooner, the only beer you guys make worth a damn. Too bad its only in Nova Scotia

RE: Watcha Buildin'?
Not building much, between flying sessions trying to build a 60 inch wing span Grumman JF2 Duck. As soon as I get the switches and batteries for the retracts installed , it will be ready for sheeting, sanding, sanding and painting.

redbiskits, Probably spelled that wrong, I fly mine with a 120 four stroke, and only exceed half throttle when doing vertical part of a loop, for safety sake of my nerves. The plane takes of on its own at half throttle and puts around nicely at quarter throttle.

A good quality latex paint can be color matched, but it needs to be fuel proofed for alchohol . Also you can use rustoleum, it is fuel proof for gas. If you want to spend a lot of money, automotive paints or good old fashioned dope works well. I used latex on mine and had it matched to military colors for a Cuban paint scheme.

Some experts. When it snows its global warming. When its hot, global warming. When it rains global warming. All I know is the last few winters have been very cold here in florida. The summers have been just about normal.Must be global warming. Thank you aAl Gore

I see a gentleman is offering plans and patterns for a waco cto in quarter scale on ebay. problem is he states an all up weight of 26 pounds. Does this sound even close, for a 91 inch wing.

RE: How Many Builders Are Left?
There are still a few of us builders left here in Florida. Trouble is there are so few kits available for larger planes that I have taken up scratch building. Sure beats "assembling" someone elses work. Feels better to.

RE: Please, dear God, make them stop!
As long as we are asking them to stop, perhaps those people who assemble arf's will stop calling it "building a model". If you want to fly them , fine but please use the correct term for them.

RE: Does it seem that the small engines have taken over ?
I am happy to see the small gassers coming out, makes it very reasonable to switch from $18 a gal fuel to $3 gal [ oil included] fuel. Also they are just as easy to transport as the glow fuel jobs in the 90 to 120 size. Now all we need are some GENUINE kits to put them in instead of cookie cutter yaks, sukhois, extras, etc etc.The most reasonable real kit I found for an excursion into small gas was from, got gas rc. Only three kits to chose from, but laser cut and designed for 30 cc gas. JUst did my maiden flight last week and need to get away from that 18/10 prop to a 20/6 or 20/8. Plane is just a rocket at half throttle.

Made it to the field with my raggedy ole pica waco today. About 3 mph breeze, heat index around 100, but I toughed it out for a couple of good flights, easy to do when only two people show up. Looking at all your beutiful waco's makes me wish we had a building season here so I had time ro recover mine and do a little cosmetic repairs. Is anyone going to monster plane in Lakeland this fall. Be sure to sport your brotherhood tee's. May all your landings be greased and on schedule.

Had the usual great time at top gun this year. Met a few of the brothers, and got to drool on two beutiful waco,s. Congratsto Mitch on geting fourth, I would have given you first but then I am slightly predjudiced to two wings and round engines. Wish more of you could have seen the great flights regardless of the nasty cross winds.

I am looking forward to seeing a whole lot of brothers at top gun this year. I will be easy to spot with my brotherhood shirt and trade mark sign, no it,s not a hawaian shirt. This year I can only make it on saturday but that is usually one of the better days for us sight seers. May all your landings be smooth and right on the centerline.
