RE: Official Venom Creeper Rock Crawler thread..
I know im gonna make a lot of people cringe on here but need to let u know. I have installed a mamba max system 6900kv in my venom creeper crawler. I wanted something out of the ordinary and this thing is incredibly insane, now granted i dont grab gobs of throttle from a stand still but i am not nice to this thing, and have to say i am very impressed with the durability.

RE: 3pm 2.4 g and 3-cell lipo
I was also thinking that if you just run energizer or duracell batts, the voltage would be 12 if not maybe a little higher. I charged the 3-cell last night and it toped out at 12.40 volts. I cannot see where a controller would draw more juice from a batt, versus the mamba system i had originaly bought it for. Is it possible for the lipo to "puff up" just sitting around, or does it need to be in use to do this, i have never had any issues with lipo batts so i am a little unsure of what you are talking about. I have set the batt in the controller and there is enough room to put 2 in there.

RE: Slash running with sc10
As i said before i am really sucked into this thread, but need to mention that ya,ll have said the same thing about 6 times. No-one could possibly say what this sc10 is gonna be like, except the guy driving it in the video. The slash without a doubt will be an icon, like the original rc10, clodbuster or t-maxx. I personally have 2 and have no intention of ever getting rid of them. I am very partial to associateds products, but in a way i hope this truck doesnt survive, because i really like the slash. The poor handling, as some say, is just another characteristic of why the truck is awesome to race. It puts more of the race in the drivers hands versus having money pay for your wins. In that i mean, the guy with the money gets the good batteries and motors and all the goodies, while the rest struggle to make what they got keep up, eventually losing interest and leaving the hobby. Settle down everyone, we still have a lot of manufactures to copy the slash yet. Give it a year and then take the gloves off.

RE: Slash running with sc10
Race the sc10 on a dragstrip with the megatech dragster, who will win. Race the megatech dragster on a slash course, who will win. I own 2 slashes and love them, will never sell. I am also highly partial to AE. But i gotta tell ya, this thread should be filmed an d produced as a soap opera. A whole bunch of people arguing over senseless things. I got sucked in and i am sure many would.

RE: Vendettas not winding up..
You do know that the red and green duratrax motors are timeable. Looks to me like the motor was in reverse timing which would seriously overheat the motor. To time them you only need to put some needle nose plyers into the slots on endbell and turn it i believe counter clockwise. Do it in little increments and test between, when you find the ultimate timing just leave it there.

RE: Something we have all been waiting for!!! Aluminum Idler Gear by Losi!
But why are they years behind traxxas. Not trying to start a war, but traxxas did this for years, and yes it was good, but traxxas realized it still wasnt right and went all metal. Metal to aluminum to plastic, something is going to prematurely wear out here, the same thing traxxas went through. Why not learn from others and just go all metal, or figure out associateds secret.

RE: OFFICAL SC10 thread
An AE stealth tranny does not need to be metal. By far the best well built tranny out there.

RE: SC10 360 degree view!
It is definitely 2wd and based off the t4, i dont know how long those mudflaps will last though. Lets not forget about the slash though, if it werent for traxxas, we wouldnt have the sc8, and now the sc10. AE should have to pay royalties. LOL

RE: SC10 360 degree view!
Unfortunately losi dropped the ball on the desert truck, IF they were trying to make it a short course truck. Which obviously they were not, so why try to compare them. GO AE.

I love associated products, and tamiya products. I have recently purchased a clodbuster and a original blackfoot for a winter projects. I own a ftt4, as if i needed to say it LOL, but have considered the J82. I cannot wait to see how and what you do, as i am sure yours will be a staple for many.

New purchase, got a question Original rc10
I bought 2 rc10 original buggies, a traxxas bandit, and a tamiya blackfoot last weekend. My question is with the 2 rc10,s. I am going to restore one for a shelf queen I have a brand new carbon fiber chassis, all good a-arms, shocks, pretty much every part among the two to make a sweet shelf queen, but there are two different looking trannies. One looks like the stealth, the other is boxier, so to speak, and even I, being the associated nut that i am, do not know which was the better one. I think the boxier one was the worlds tranny, thus being a upgrade. If anyone can help me out i would be greatly appreciated. What are my chances at finding original body, tires and rims.

RE: Rustler... GOOD??? BAD????
If you put the slash a-arms and front rims on the rear, you end up with toe-in, thus resulting in a much better handling rustler. Night and day difference. On alot of the stock rustler, stampede, and bandits you can almost see a toe-out, resulring in the poor performance. up until my slash a-arm conversion, i used to use traxxas 4-tec rear hub carriers which gave me about 3 degree toe-in overall.

RE: novak havoc 3S esc
I can tell you that novak motors are not weak. I own 2 novak systems, 1 vxl, and 1 mamba system. On the same battery, the novak is by far the better system. Where vxl and mamba get all the power is being able to run 3-cell lipo, which is cool. The novak havoc being able to run 3-cell has got to be incredible. And will prabably warrant me getting rid of the vxl and mamba systems. These are my opinions only.

Micro rs4 suggestions
I recently opened my rc storage and have been playing with my original micro rs4. This car is actually a pretty cool rc. What does everyone recommend for upgrades for it. I know i need tires, the stock foamers are alll dry and cracked. The nissan skyline body is in perfect shape though. It has a hpi micro PRO CONTROL reversing esc #306. does anyone have the specifics of this. how many cell, and what motor limit

RE: Tight fit with lipo in micro-t?
I did the same thing with my micro t. And IMO customer support at LOSI stinks. I called and e-mailed them about 20 times combined, finally got a hold of someone, and was told that if i hurt the battery putting it in the truck, then they would not replace it. The killer is that either the truck or the battery was not designed properly and obviously a lot of people have problems with it, the lipo batteries are way overpriced as it is.

RE: Now many converted from nitro to electric
I swithched from electric to nitro about 10 years ago, and then back to electric 5 years ago. I would puke if i tallied up the amount of money i spent in my 5 year nitro period. But i did have a riot with the nitro. Brushless and lipo is the way to go nowadays. One good thing about the electric ruling rc is that sooner or later the nitro engine companies are going to have to eventually design better engines. Nitro engines havent changed in design in a long long time. All they have done is worked them to get more power out of them, which only results in less life. I for one would like to see a line of 4 stroke rc engines for land use. Oil filled crankcase and spark plug. I am not talking about the weedwacker engine line either, but same concept. I think this is wishfull thinking though.

RE: built a carbon fiber motor mount tonight
That is by far the coolest mod i have seen in a while. Put a patent on it, cause i want about 20 of them, t4, b4, mini baja, mini t, micro dt times 2, e-maxx. hell, i would even put them in the pede and rustler and use the motor screws to hold on.

RE: What is a good 1/18 for under 100
I have bought 2 losi mini baja,s on ebay and craigslist, one for 40 and the other for 50. They are a cool little car to beat around with, pretty durable and quick. You can find these all over for about the same price, and as said before, tons of parts and hop-ups available.

RE: Anyone have this servo?
I dont dispute the speed factor, cause all my race vehicles have airtronics servo,s which are .12 to .14 sec transition time. But in my bashers and specically all my traxxas vehicles, i have went with the torque as they are a heavy vehicle. Not trying to get in a arguement over silly stuff, just my opinion.
