RE: Anyone own a Ricky Carmichael Moto?
actually, they are pretty close to hobby grade, and if you look around in the mags, you'll see people are developing mods for them. Those bikes are pretty cool.

RE: Evader BX racing mods
I don't want to bash the evader here, but its going to sound like it anyways, so here goes... As far as people saying that the evader plastic and graphite are not weak, i'm sorry, but you are wrong. It is. When you get your hands on some real Losi plastic or graphite, you'll understand. All of a sudden you'll be doing really stoopid stuff with your car, and you'll be stunned at how tough it is. This is what makes Diskgolfer's 'not evader' setup so hot. I would like to point out that I believe for 99% of us, the XX design is more than competitive. You've gotta learn to drive fast before you can be fast. Just my $.02

Macking a track
I'm putting the fishing touches on a 1/10 track in my backyard, moving around dirt and all, and i was wondering if anyone knew of any webpages or threads that could help me with track design, any input is helpful, thanks.

RE: Evader BX racing mods
I have to agree with the evader fans here, I really no longer use my evader for racing, i switched up to Losi, but there are still some VERY competitive evaders at the track. Besides, the Losi XX-T and XX are not really all that outdated for club racing, and as we all know, thats all an evader really is. As far as racing an evader, I think the best investment you can make is time at the track to develop a proper setup and to gain experience. Sometimes I go to the track and I watch people race and I'm pretty sure that I could beat them with my Tamiya Lunchbox, they have all of the speed and the tech money can buy, but no idea how to use it.

RE: wow
i've been running IB 4200 on my GTB/5.5 XXX-T and they just get warm, my older GP3300s used to get HOT. So yeah, i guess all I'm saying is that I'm impressed with the IB4200 cells. They also have crazy punch, and it lasts. I'm very impressed.

RE: Diff question for my XXX-T
have you taken the diff apart yet? You should look inside the tranny, and if you can post pictures. The internals of the XXX-T tranny are very light, and i would think that you would want to keep it that way instead of changing the gears out to something heaver. After some tweaking i've found the XXX-T Tranny to be VERY DURABLE. I run a Novak Velociti 5.5 on mine, and its plent fast enough for racing and bashing, and aside from the required diff rebuild every now and then (yes, you've gotta do it), and my first couple of melted diff gears from having the diff too loose, it has held up very well.

RE: Front wheel hop
another thing is tp make sure that the front wheels are weighted correctly. this can be fixed with some shoe goo and a couple of nuts. Just spin the wheel on the axl, and it will come to rest with the heavy part of the wheel down, mark the light spot and add weight thusly...

RE: Team Orion 3900mAh Rocket Stick vs. Team Orion 3800mAh Rocket Stick
oh yeah, you can get IB3800 SxS packs from boom boom and several other places for in the $40s or less, and that would be even better than either of those two sport packs.

RE: Team Orion 3900mAh Rocket Stick vs. Team Orion 3800mAh Rocket Stick
i'd prolly go for the pack made out of IB3800 cells, as they are awesome! I can't quite tell what the cells are in the less exspensive pack, but i'm sure they are of lesser quality, hence the lower price.

RE: Rising Storm / Gravel Hound
can you be abit more specific when you say the DF-02 isnt designed to harness such power? where in particular is it lacking strength?
oh, just the little things like the lack of a slipper clutch, lack of adjustability for gear mesh, all of the plastic outdrives, lack of adjustability of the diffs. The plastic housings on the metal diff gears are bound to crack apart from that power too. Just things like that. I can just see jumping this with a powerful brushless would end up causing all kinds of problems. I still rather like this model, particularly as a basher. It is a whole bunch of fun!

RE: Rising Storm / Gravel Hound
i'm currently building a hound for my wife, just as a basher so she can play with me and our kids and i've noticed a couple of things... for what i'll be using this for, its gonna be the best. but as i build the drivetrain, i don't really see any way that it can possibly stand up to the GTB and the 5.5 or the 6.5, not to mention the 4.5 for any legitimate period of time, even with hop ups. it just doesn't have the design to harness that kind of power. i may be wrong, but i just don't see it. i run the GTB in my Losi XXXT, and the 5.5 is hard on the tranny for that ST, and it is made to harness the power of low turn racing mod motors... just an observation.

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics
I always end up having more fun with my lunchbox with the stock silver can in it. That always seems fast enough to me for that truck. Whats really funny is that I have a Losi XXXT with a GTB 5.5 and nowhere near the amount of kids come running to watch as do when I break out the Lunchbox. There really is just something unspeakably cool about the big yellow box.
