RE: Kyosho Blizzards
Here is some onboard video from my Kyosho Blizzard. The video is transmitted to inside the house and the vid receiver is hooked to the TV. I am in the house controlling the Blizz by what I see from the camera. FPV driving (first person view) I edited this from over 20 minutes of bashing around the yard on a 3 cell 2100 lipo. The power system is a Castle Sidewinder 4600kv brushless with the matching ESC. FPV gear is a KX171 camera, 900mhz 500mw Tx, one 8dbi patch, 900mhz Rx hooked to the TV in the house. I have an onboard mic but muted it cuz the audio got out of sync with the the video from the huge (20 minute) file size. Video gets a bit jerky/stutters too. Sorry about the music... ...and the length of the vid, its kinda long and maybe a bit boring. Also kinda bouncy, not much for a suspension on the Blizzard. Oh yeah, please excuse the paint job, I screwed up on that. (need to get another body and try again) http://www.vimeo.com/3374581

RE: 16.8V New E-maxx
ORIGINAL: t9dragon I have been seriously thinking about getting the New E-Maxx. But I have a few questions. Can it handle brushless out of the box? Can the stock electronics handle lipos? Are there any weak spots on the truck? Is there anything I should upgrade right away?
"Can it handle brushless out of the box?".......Yes, the transmission and geartrain can handle it. Obviously you would need to buy a brushless motor and esc... "Can the stock electronics handle lipos?".......The stock esc is NOT setup for lipo's, but if you go brushless you will need a new esc anyway. "Are there any weak spots on the truck?"........I broke the front skidplate twice after a couple of jumps gone wrong...[;)] "Is there anything I should upgrade right away?".......Tires, We still have snow here, and the stock tires suck on slippery surfaces, I got the Traxxas Sporttrax tires, they are awesome on slick surfaces. The Traxxas Talons are pretty good too, but the Sporttrax have incredible bite! Stock tires probably ok on hard dirt or asphalt, don't know, have not seen any of that for months!

RE: Wheely King
ORIGINAL: Access Looks good, have you ever tried getting your own circuit boards made from places like www.expresspcb.com ? Nice to have the pan/tilt option, most camera setups don't.
Thanks![:D] I have never had circuit boards made by anyone like that, although I have etched my own boards a long time ago. Now most electronic projects I build are pretty simple and I just use some generic strip board or perf board. Pan sure comes in handy, tilt is somewhat less useful, but I may mount a small rear view mirror so I can see behind when backing up.
ORIGINAL: MF2MM5700 Nice job on the paint! How do you like those tires?
Thanks![:D] Those Traxxas SportTraxx tires have awesome grip... [:D] I have been running them on snow and ice and they are much better than the stock tires. Also tried the Traxxas Talons, the Talons are also much better than stock tires on slippery surfaces, almost as good as the SportTraxx. Stock tires probably ok on dirt or asphalt but we still have snow everywhere and they suck on snow.
ORIGINAL: Emaxx101 Hey guys, bought the 6900 system..............WOW. It goes 30+ with 6 cells at 22/93 and is totaly controlable. Not to many wheelies, as you guys menchioned, but lots of intense power and speed. I got 40+ minutes of runtime with a 3900 pack and the motor didn't even brake a sweat. Great investment.[sm=49_49.gif]
What gearing did you use? stock?

RE: Wheely King
Here are few shots of the camera/transmitter platform... when all done with testing and such I will disassemble and paint the platform flat black. this will cut down on reflections that the camera picks up. the little black thing next to the led is the microphone. the warning led is part of the little circuit board, it lights up (very bright blue) when the 3 cell lipo batt falls below 9.6V pan and tilt is a pandora from rangevideo.com... uses a HS-81 for pan, and a HS-65HB for tilt

Wheely King
Here's mine [:D] BushWhacker body, my 2nd ever paint job and a bunch of mods... Including onboard wireless video camera with pan and tilt, Camera and transmitter powered by a 3 cell lipo, Electronics include a low voltage warning light for the camera lipo. Extra wheely bar cuz when you are driving by camera you don't want to flip over! still to come... LED headlights and taillights... and maybe some window tint for the rear windows. (cuts down on the reflections that the camera picks up...)

I have enough stock stuff left over to almost build another truck...[;)] bought all the aluminum stuff, it just bolts on. those lower shock mounts available from RC4wd. don't know how many turns that motor is, heard others had good luck with it so decided to try it. works ok, somewhat more power than stock.

RE: e-maxx 3905 any good
I run mine in snow, all stock and stock gearing, except for tires. I have the Traxxas Sport Traxx tires on it, awesome traction on snow and slippery surfaces! Never had a problem with the stock gearing on the snow, it just rips thru snow no problem! Also have had it completely packed with snow all in, and on-top of the chassis, snow everywhere! no troubles! just do the maintenance like the manual says.
