RE: XB-70 EDF
ETM and "Hobby Warehouse" both run what I would refer too as "somewhat shoddy" businesses. Both often say "in stock-ready to ship", however that usually refers to the inventory at the factory or the wholesale warehouse in China. They take our money, up front...then, and only when they have a quantity that qualifies for a discount, do they place an order. In the meantime, they offer excuses for a long delay...never mentioning the likely "real" reason, like they've already spent the funds that you sent them for airplane "X" because they had to spend those funds to pay for previous shipments, or who knows what!
ORIGINAL: Sessholvlaru I am still waiting for my XB-70 to show up from EasyTiger Models. It sounds like ETM is waiting for NiceSky to send them the planes. -Frustrated.
And then, there is a very good probability that Easy Tiger has NOT ordered them.....you might want to check the local BBB for further info.

RE: Best RTF electric jet?
I agree, SilverState! I lost mine last fall because these 70 year-old eyes could not tell which "side" was up! Glad to see the V2. I'll definitely get just the airframe when they become available. I went to the Parkzone website to check it out. Great color (livery) so even I will be better able to track it.

RE: Best RTF electric jet?
Thanks for the info! Now, we can assist you better. I've ordered a number of planes from Nitro over the past 3 years, with pretty good results. The biggest issue with them is the lack of spare parts. Check out www.hobby-lobby.com they offer really great customer service and Jason is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Let me know if you find any of their EDF's to your liking.

Need much more info from you before any advice can be given... What is your RC experience? What are your "performance" expectations? What type of EDF are you after.....sport/scale/military/civilian/trainer??????? Do you have any RC plane building experience, or just ARF assembly?

RE: Genesis Power LiPo by Banana Hobby Battery tech Question
I think BH purposely had that "Genesis" label put on their LiPo line to mislead us into thinking it's a GensAce product. I am quite sure that Genesis is their "house" brand, just as "SkyLipo" is a NitroPlanes/HobbyPartz "house brand and "Turnigy" is a HobbyKing house brand.

RE: Genesis Power LiPo by Banana Hobby Battery tech Question
ORIGINAL: SilverState RC Ive read and heard nothing but good things about the Gensace batteries. However I dont have any personal experience with these batteries.  I do have experience with Sky Lipo batteries. I run the 4s 3000 and 3300mha 40C battery packs. I have had no issues with these packs and I run them with kinda hot edf and motor combos.
Just to be clear.....Genesis Power LiPo are NOT GensAce LiPo's. I also have Sky Lipo and GensAce and have had no issues with either brand.

RE: New Change Sun 70mm 10 blade fans
Thanks for your reply. Just to make sure that i understood correctly. you meant to say i can use one 3S battery/fan-motor? What if i go with 4S per setup, will i still be ok? On the other hand do you think that following ESC is of good quality to use on my application? : TURNIGY TRUST 70A SBEC Brushless Speed Controller Thanks again for your help Regards,
If you use the 2800kv motors, run them on 4S. If you use one 4S LiPo, it should be at least 5000mAh/40C to power BOTH motors/you could use two 4S3300mAh/40C to power each motor separately, or wire them in parallel (4S6600mAh) to power both motors. If you use the 2100kv motors, run them on 6S......you could use two 3S4000mAh/40C wired in series to make a 6S4000mAh supply. I use Exceed-RC 80Amp OPTO ESC's, 4S5000/30-40C, 3100kv E-Flite inrunners (Delta V-15's) in my Windrider 737. Way more than enough power. I know its a bit smaller than yours. Good luck!

RE: Need help picking a first EDF jet
Nope, not for anyone who does not have some experience. I have this exact same plane, and it does fly very well. A plane such as this is good for a 3rd or 4th aircraft. Master the first two.......then, try something like the T-28.

RE: Need help picking a first EDF jet
ORIGINAL: RelaxedFire Should I practice on the Dynam until I get it mastered, landings, takeoffs, flying, everything, then move onto an EDF jet, or how should I go about moving up the latter? Thanks so much folks!
Yes, master the "Cessna" type trainer...then I would suggest another inexpensive airplane before going to any EDF. As most EDF's are either "low wing" or "mid wing" type designs, you should gain some more experience with a propeller driven aircraft with "low wing" design, such as this Dynam product. It can use the same battery and radio that comes with the Dynam "Cessna". It will be a bit faster and more aerobatic than the "Cessna". I would highly recommend this before trying a ducted fan model. http://www.nitroplanes.com/60a-dy8936-srtrainer-arf-silver.html This one is silver in color.....they also have it in white, but that one is a few bucks more (don't know why) Hopefully, NitroPlane's sale prices are still in effect when you order. They are both an excellant value. Regards, Gary

RE: Need help picking a first EDF jet
ORIGINAL: RelaxedFire Are there any cheaper alternatives?
Not that I have ever seen! I have been in this hobby since I was 13 (and I recently turned 70). The Dynam plane (Cessna 182) is an outstanding value. I have their twin engine "Grand Cruiser" (their name for a Cessna 310), and it also is a superb flyer! They are made of EPO foam, and this type of foam is very durable.

RE: Need help picking a first EDF jet
ORIGINAL: RelaxedFire There are no beginner jets whatsoever?   If not, I'll go the safe way. Gary, would this plane be suitable for someone who hasn't experienced flying an RC plane very much? And would it last a long time? Any other reccomendations would be great on other trainers. Thanks guys
There are a few EDF's that are fairly easy to fly..COMPARED TO OTHER EDF'S, But even those are not a good idea for anyone who does not have some experience flying an actual RC plane. I have known a number of airline pilots who experience difficulty when attempting to fly RC.....even though the characteristics of flight are very similar. Unless money is no object, you need to start with a modest trainer. One reason I recommended the Dynam is it is fairly hard to destroy, and even if you damage parts of it beyond repair, spare parts are easily available.....and it's kinda inexpensive. The type of trainer that you start with depends on how much RC equipment you may have already, and what amount of money you can spend. Here is another very good "trainer" plane from Horizon Hobby: http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/apprentice-15e-pnp-EFL2900 It's a bit more $$$- $299 with radio or $229 without radio

RE: Need help picking a first EDF jet
I agree with Quoreng! Computer flight programs are great, but........You need to experience the "real world" before you move into ANY EDF. I would suggest the following for a first RC plane. Dynam makes some pretty decent stuff...and spare parts are readily available. http://www.nitroplanes.com/60a-dy8938-trainer182-new-rtf-24g.html Good Luck! -Gary

Why do you want/need to disable the steering? (the steer rod {or cables} will not move the nose leg when gear is retracted, anyway...servo arm moves, but no big deal)

If you order a run of 2 or 3 thousand from the manufactures, you can import them in a nice box with YOUR name on them.
