RE: Glitch
Check/replace Y harnesses. You didn't say what type engine ... electric, glow/nitro, gas. Gas is pretty noisy and lots of vibrations. Do not use metal to metal contacts when connecting throttle, etc to a gas engine. My 2 cents.

RE: 26 gas16/8 or 17/10 prop
In post #2
ORIGINAL: ggraham500 I am using a 16/8 on my CG WildStick (12 lbs) with a CRRC Pro 26cc which is very aerobatic and a 17/6 on my GP Giant BigStick (16 lbs) with a DLE-30 which is fun but less aerobatic.
I recently took my 12lb Wild Stick with the 26cc gas engine out again. What fun! I also flew my 16lb Giant Big Stck with the 30cc DLE ... And a 18x8 prop ... Not nearly

RE: 2 flyers, 1 AMA membership?
I am not an attorney, but this sounds a bit complicated because yes, your AMA membership is also insurance, but in reality the insurance is secondary to your home insurance. If you are flying and under 18, your dad is responsible for your and his actions so probably AMA on him is questionable. I have home insurance and also purchase additional "umbrella coverage" each year as well to make sure I am covered wherever I fly. My two cents.

RE: Constant chord wing query
Constant chord wings have better stall and post-stall characteristics but poorer roll rates and have poor snap characteristics. Think of military warbirds in combat. They all have tapered wings. I would think it is more difficult to design a tapered wing with good stall and post-stall characteristics, but well designed tapered wing will have better roll and snap characteristics. My two cents.

RE: 26 gas16/8 or 17/10 prop
What is the approx weight of your Super Decathlon? The approx rpm of the MVVS 26 on the ground? I am using a 16/8 on my CG WildStick (12 lbs) with a CRRC Pro 26cc which is very aerobatic and a 17/6 on my GP Giant BigStick (16 lbs) with a DLE-30 which is fun but less aerobatic.

RE: Is it my ignition or engine?
Why bother to run the 4.8v batteries in series like you apparently are and have to use a regulator to choke them back down to a max of 6.0 volts? Either use two 4.8v batteries in parallel and use a SmartFly BatShare or just use a single 4.8v battery..

RE: DLE-30 Carb Wont Draw Fuel
Please let us know how the maiden went. I have a DLE-20 in my GP Giant Super Sportster but have yet to maiden her. I know it might be a bit under powered by many peoples standard, but the Saito 150 I use to run the plane on was way more than it needed, so I wanted to try the DLE-20 rather than a DLE-30 (which I have waiting "in the wings").

RE: Ring Engine Compression
I would rather suggest that after maybe 15 minutes on the ground for initial breakin then fly the plane moderately to get the airflow over the engine cylinder for cooling. Only short bursts at wot increasing until the engine has probably another 5 or 6 flights of 10-12 min each. This has become my practice for the last several years.

RE: NGH 9cc Engine input???
ORIGINAL: earlwb ... They do have a special BEC device that can use a single battery pack to power both the ignition system and RC system. it uses RFI filters and adjustable voltage regulators. Here is one such device http://www.tech-aero.net/ultra-ibec   ...
Actually the url is http://www.tech-aero.net/ultra-ibec (without the extra spaces at the end). Depends on your flying style. You could just pin those CA hinges, but the nylon pinned hinges are much stronger of course.
