RE: Best Basswood Glue
I ended up using a 1/64 plywood brace on each side of the joint as you suggested Carlosponti & now it is holding up under stress. I thought about slotting the wood for each joint like Del did but he was also using dowel rod. I thought this would be the easiest way to remedy the problem. Thanks for the help everyone, I can't believe the number of responses I got & I just posted this question this afternoon. Thanks again.

There will be a bend in it. There is a bend at about the mid-fuse point back to the tail on the Fokker DRI. Thanks everyone you are very helpful.

I'm building a GTM DRI & I'm having trouble getting Titebond or CA to hold on a butt joint using Basswood. Is there a glue that works really well with this type of wood?. Thanks

RE: Aeroworks 50cc QB Mustang??
I called Aeroworks today to see when it will be released & how much. I was told around March & cost between $1500-$2000. At $1500 with the retracts & wheels I would most likely order one but, for $2000.00 I don't think so.

I have one new in the box & if I don't sell it I plan on using a RCV 130cd. KMP sells a spinner for this plane. Wish I could help you on the parts. Have you tried YT International?.

RE: Can I get her back?
That's about the size of the runway my club has. It's not difficult, we land large planes there without any problems. We consider ourselves carrier pilots. Look at it this way, if you can land there you can land at about any field. When you line her up just make a long approach and use the throttle to control your altitude. As you get near the runway you should be only a few feet above the runway. Once over the runway chop the throttle & grease her in. Landing are my favorite part & I consider the flyer's in our club to be some of the best at landings cause we gotta be. Have at it.

RE: Nightly team building...
A buddy of mine & I are just finishing up Fokker DVII's that we started last January. I go over to his house about 4 times a week to build. It has been great, the old saying "Two heads are better than one", well it's true. It has been very beneficial when it comes to solving problems & we laugh & have a jolly ole time. It's worked out so well that we have taken in another friend that's a builder. This time we are building Glenn Torrance Fokker DRI's, should be lots of fun. Go for it & have a great time.

Wanted to post some pictures of my Flair DVII. I should be finished in a few weeks. When completed it will have a yellow nose & wheels & a red tail with white dots all over it. You can see my building buddy's DVII in the background. It's been a great time building these kits togeather. Thanks to Chris from Wildmann graphics for all your help in making the 1/6 scale solartex lozenge covering.

RE: Have Arf's finally taken over building from kits?
When I got involved in this hobby many years ago there were only a few ARF's & most were junk. Back then everyone I flew with kit built all their planes & some are still flying them. That situation has certainly changed. I have several ARF's that are very high quality. They have served their purpose well. Working & trying to spend time with my son left me little time to kit build. Now that he is older I have started to build again & I must say that the quality of kits on the market has greatly improved also. A friend of mine & I are building Fokker DVII's together & it has been an absolute blast. Building kits can be a lot of fun especially when the wind is blowing too hard to fly or its raining. It gives me a chance to enjoy another facet of this great hobby. ARF's & kits are all welcome in our club even though some of my flying buddies think I'm crazy for spending 6 months building a plane. I hope that kits will be around for a long time to come & would encourage anyone thinking about building a kit for the first time to do your homework & buy a nice kit that goes together well. It really is a very rewarding experience. Kit or ARf I love them all just because they are flying machines.

Does RCV make a 90 degree exhaust pipe for the 91cd. A flex pipe would work also & I know os makes one to fit but I need a 4 inch & the shortest one they make is over 7 inches. Thanks

Its a very nice flying plane. Easy to fly, just like a trainer. The only thing I didn't like about it was the cheap covering. Flies great on a 40 size engine. Have fun.

I'm building a Flair Fokker DVII & I have a picture in a book Of a DVII with lower lozenge colors on the fuse & a red tail plane with white dots all over it & a yellow nose & wheels. Anyone have a clue as to the pilot of the plane & if lower lozenge surface colors were ever used on the fuse. I've looked on the internet without success. Thanks
