I saw it is for the D model. Will it fit the B model?

RE: KMP Stuka-build details
Has anyone installed or planning to install a DLE 30cc engine in this plane? I’ve just received my Stuka B yesterday and I just happen to have a DLE 30cc laying around. I dry fitted and it fits perfect. Wonder if it’s too much power for it. If you have this engine installed, appreciated if you could shed some light on this.

RE: KMP New Spitfire Mk XIV
I am going to maiden my Spitfire this coming Sunday. I am a little concerned with the CG recommended at 120mm. Has anyone have any experience or flown at the recommended CG? Or how did you set your up? Thanks, Gary

RE: 26cc ESM WARBIRDS READY TO SHIP!!!
That is why I put IMHO (in my humble opinion). Not saying everyone should think the same and I certainly don’t expect that any way. I understand P-40 had severed in different theater and if this scheme is your cup of tea, go for it. AVG is more of a personal thing for me. My late uncle was part of the AVG and as kid, I attended their annual reunion. AVG has a special place in my heart. IMHO……..

Hey guys, look what I had found. http://www.esmmodel.com/inc/Enproductdetail.asp?productid=211 Too bad they don't have them in AVG Flying Tiger version. I hope they change their mind someday. IMHO...P-40 = Flying Tiger.

RE: KMP Corsair
Doc, I had Aerovate 26cc engine installed on a WM P-47 with a 71 inch wingspan and weights about 12.5 lbs (http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7543706/mpage_5/key_/tm.htm) post #116. It pulls it nice and scale, but can not do big loops. A little more power would be ideal. I was using a 16x8 at 8,300 rpm. Regarding the Corsair, judging from everyone’s comments here, it weights about 19 lbs with a 74 inch wingspan. The 26cc will pull it along but I think it will be sluggish. I like my war bird to be a little on the fast side so that I could perform big loops and little bit of emergency power to get me out of trouble in case I needed it. Gary

RE: KMP Corsair
I am starting to work on my Corsair. Haven’t decided on the engine yet. I thought about the Aerovate 26cc but my experience with this particular engine tells me it might not be enough power for this plane. I am leaning toward a DLE 30cc (http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/items/DL30ENGINE.html). Has anyone installed this engine in the Corsair?

I just ordered the B version. Looks like the B version has a bigger chin. I don’t have to cut up the cowling. Has anyone install a 26CC gas engine in her? If you have, what muffler have you used? Pictures are greatly appreciated. I like what this guy had done to his Stuka http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tc4cGBeFfI

RE: KMP New Spitfire Mk XIV
Tevans55, Your setup is awesome! I love how you did the air refill by the wheel well. Also, I noticed you have a rocker switch on top of a micro servo. Is this for an on board glow driver? How much ballast do you have to install up front in order to balance at CG? Again, love your setup and hope you don’t mind me stealing some of your ideas. Ghostrider

RE: KMP New Spitfire Mk XIV
Tomas, That is great! I thought about using the RCGF 26cc engine on this plane. It would be prefect with the weight of a gasser. However, the thought of cutting up the cowling discourages me. I love to see how you and Keleo come up with the solution. If this works out, I’ll be the first inline to get the new engine and the muffler. Look forward for your post. Ghostrider

I lost the muffler (part number X2001) during flight on RCGF 26cc. Wondering if anyone sells replacement for it. Or if anyone on the forum has extra one that is willing to sell it to me.

RE: KMP New Spitfire Mk XIV
Hi, I just started building this plane and enjoying every minute of it. I am deciding on an engine for her and wondering how much difference there is between a Saito 150 and Saito 180. I know the size and weight are very close. For people whom had installed the Saito 150, is it enough power for big loops? What is the estimated maximum speed with full throttle? I once in awhile do enjoy buzzing the runway full speed and don’t mind the extra power. However, if the Saito 150 is sufficient then I rather just use that. If you have suggestion for another type of engine, I am all ears. Thanks, Gary

RE: *World Models 70" P-47D THUNDERBOLT*
Jeff, I am planning on it. I reset the CG. I made it a little nose heavy (move the batteries around). This is due the fact that on my initial built, in order for me to fit the carburetor into the firewall, I moved the tank from behind the firewall to almost the center of CG. My tank could hold 16 fluid oz. This means that I lose almost 16 oz to the nose and render my plane tail heavy. This explains why my plane behaves the way it did on the first few flights (tail heavy and doesn’t settle in on landings). Hope this takes care of that issue. As for the prop nut, I use TT adapter kit for Zenoah G-38 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001136968&I=LXKE17&P=K It fits perfectly find. Gary

RE: *World Models 70" P-47D THUNDERBOLT*
ORIGINAL: i@sun.com 1) Jeff & Gary, What is the “push open – pull closed bar for? If it’s a choke or mixture, how on earth do you operate it? The bar is for the choke. Usually on the first start of the day, the engine needs to be choke to get started. Unless you starts it with a electric starter. 2) Is the little yellow pipe at the bottom of the firewall simply a tank overflow or filler or what? It is for overflow and vent for the tank. 3) Is a fuel pump needed for this engine? There doesn’t seem to be a + pressure tap off the manifold? No. suction from the piston will draw fuel from the carburetor. 4) What fuel mix do you use for an engine like this? Am I to assume that standard mower 2 stroke isn’t suitable? I do 30:1 on lawnmower oil for break in and 40:1 synthetic after. 5) Finally most embarrassing question… How do you start the bugger? :) Hand start or electric starter. Oh… one other thing. This model looks fantastic, however has anyone thought of mounting some wing guns to finish it off? Many thanks and warm regards, Ian.
RE: *World Models 70" P-47D THUNDERBOLT*
Jeff, I am still running lawnmower oil. I got couple of tanks to go for break in. After that, I will switch to synthetic and increase the prop pitch. Hopefully it will increase the speed. Are you on synthetic? Zippi, There is an approximately 3/8 gap between the fuselage and the engine cowl all around. It should be enough for cooling. I have not experienced any overheating tendency. But the weather here has been cold. I not sure if this will be the same during the summer months. Jeff? Gary
