RE: My redcat buggy froze!
I'm on the other side of the country but my not so LHS charges $20 to tune a nitro car. That includes a car that won't start. Parts would be extra if necessary.

RE: My redcat buggy froze!
It just occurred to me, have you checked the throttle trim on the radio without the car running? When you turn on the power to your radio and then your car does your throttle servo move? Is it humming? If your trim is properly set your throttle servo won't hum. If it's humming: turn everything off remove the screw from the throttle servo arm and lift the arm off the gear take off your air filter so you can see your carb gap - adjust the gap to 1 to 2 mm (mine is closer to 1mm) set you throttle trim on the radio: I've heard it two ways (1) is to set the throttle trim on the radio all the way back (this didn't work for me) (2) is to set the throttle trim on the radio to the middle (this is what I had to do) Now, turn on your radio then your car power switch Is the throttle servo humming? If yes, then adjust the throttle trim until the humming stops, Once you get it to the point where it's not humming. Turn off the power on the car then the radio then turn the power back on for the radio then the car... still not humming, right? Great. Turn off the power to the car and the radio. Next put the throttle servo arm back on the servo gear and screw it in, put it on carefully so it doesn't move the gear but tight enough that the carb gap stays at 1 - 2 mm Turn off the power on the car then the radio then turn the power back on for the radio then the car... still not humming, right? The carb gap is still properly set, right? Put the air filter back on. Fire it up. Good luck there is a video for this on youtube but I don't remember where, sorry.

RE: My redcat buggy froze!
If you're trying to get the wheels not to spin at idle. Start with the idle screw. turn it so that it rev's low but doesn't shut off. Once you have that and I'm thinking that your wheels are still spinning Then adjust your LSN (low speed needle) - not the one in the brass sleeve - turn the LSN counter clockwise in very small increments and wait 30 - 45 seconds before you touch it again. Imagine that the screw is the little hand on a clock and your gonna turn it 1 hour at time. That's 1/12 of a turn. small increments. I hope that you remember where all those needles were when you started (stock needle settings) remember, this isn't frustrating, this is getting to know your car, it's part of the fun.

have you tried to watch the video's? I think that the video's will really help you break in the engine and learn about the carb.

RE: My redcat buggy froze!
I'm guessing that your talking about my post? I don't understand the question. When you unscrew the throttle servo arm the bar don't have to come off you can just move them out of the way..

[quote]ORIGINAL: gigabyte411 Tornado S30 I need the hinge pin that holds the front lower arm to the Front Differential Gearbox housing. The schematic doesn't really show it. It looks like part #6060 but that shows upper arm and #2063 shows rear so that leaves #2036 that I found on a parts search on a website but not on the schematic. I also need the screw that holds the front shock

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
I got mine from my not so LHS. It's a OFNA micro unit. It fits right inside the battery box on the car with the Rx.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
You say that you changed the batteries in the remote but did you change them in the car. The symptom that you describing is what happens to me when my batteries are low. I never know which batteries are low so I change out all 12. Try 12 new batteries and you should be good. I'm only able to get about 8 tanks out of a set of batteries. Keep in mind that you should install a good fail safe because the one that is in that Rx/Tx is worthless. Once that fail safe kicks in (no response between remote and car) you have about a minute to get to the car and shut it off because after that it's full throttle. An aftermarket fail safe will still kick in and save your car and your engine.

RE: tornado s30 tires
I'm looking to replace the wheels that come with the Tornado S30 and I was wondering if these wheels from the Backdraft 3.5 will fit. Does anyone know for sure and will I run the risk of killing the gears or differentials? BS936-001 http://www.urchobby.com/proddetail.php?prod=BS936-001

Part #'s help please
I'm not sure about a couple of part #'s, can someone please help. Tornado S30 I need the hinge pin that holds the front lower arm to the Front Differential Gearbox housing. The schematic doesn't really show it. It looks like part #6060 but that shows upper arm and #2063 shows rear so that leaves #2036 that I found on a parts search on a website but not on the schematic. I also need the screw that holds the front shock to the lower arm. These cars really don't like curbs. Something about the speed vs cement. The car is amazingly fast which adds to the damage factor.

RE: My redcat buggy froze!
I had this same problem. I started my Tornado S30 for the first time and ran a tank with it sitting on a block. After the tank I forgot to drop the piston to Bottom Dead Center (I'm new to Nitro). About 20 min later when I went to continue the break-in process with a second tank it was locked up. I couldn't move the pull start at all. I couldn't move the fly-wheel with my hands either. So, I called a friend who's super into R/C and he told me to find a way to get channel locks on the fly-wheel to break it free. I removed the glow plug. Then, I disconnected the screw from the throttle servo to take off the throttle servo control arm. This enabled me to get to the 2 screws to the Exhaust pipe. I removed these two screws that connected the exhaust pipe to the engine. Then I moved the exhaust pipe around and out of the way. I loosened the nut the holds the carb tight and then I removed the carb. I now had pretty good access to the fly-wheel. I covered the fly-wheel with the sleeve of an old T-shirt to protect the teeth. Then I used channel-locks to turn the fly-wheel and break the piston free from its frozen position. Once freed, I was able to pull the pull start and the piston would move normally. While I was putting the 3 in 1 oil in the engine I marked the fly-wheel with a sharpie so that I would know when the piston is at BDC. But, once I put it all back together again... it got stuck again without ever starting! So I followed those same steps again but this time once I got it loose I put about 5 drops of 3 in 1 oil down through the glow plug hole and I kept pulling the pull start. It would still get stuck and the top every once in a while so I put 5 more drops of 3 in 1 oil down the hold while the piston was at the top in this stuck position. I left it like that over night. Today I pulled the pull start many times and it felt good. I re-assembled everything and I got it started! I ran another bench tank thru it. Then, I ran a figure 8 tank thru it. Both times I remembered to put engine to BDC. I had to put the break-in process on hold until tomorrow because I didn't want to upset the neighbors. Now you know that a frozen engine is not a dead engine.

Remote Transmitter Help Plz
I have a Tornada S30 and I pushed the button next to the LED "F/S SET Bind". Now the remote won't control anything, no throttle, no stearing. How do I fix this. I've pushed the button again, numerous times, to no avail. I've removed the batteries from everything for hours and it still won't work. It did originally work. But, like a child, I just had to push all the buttons. This remote didn't come with any documentation that I can find and I can't find anything online.
