Cheap ESC replacement for Typhoon 2 3D
Hey there, I'm looking for something simple, and cheap, I'm planing on getting a new plane sometime soon, but still wants to be able to fly the Typhoon. What do you say?

RE: New graphic card, but Aerofly still sluggish when smoke is on?!
I don't think there is such a thing, they didn't say anything about that here http://www.evga.com/Products/moreInfo.asp?pn=256-P2-N751-AR All the other options work fine (duel screen etc.), and I hear the card's fan working hard when flying.

New graphic card, but Aerofly still sluggish when smoke is on?!
Hey there, I've been wanting to upgrade my video card so I could enjoy the smoke when I hover - without the refresh rate dropd below 10fps So I got myself the evga 8600 gt and upgraded my psu, My computer is HP Pavilion a1130n It has an athlon 3500+ 64bit processor 1.5gb ram. When the smoke is off, I'm at 250 fps, but when I put on the smoke and hover close, it will drop to almost a freeze, like it used to do before I bought the card. Is this normal? Thanks.

Wow, never thought about that, I'll make sure before I plug it in - Thanks. I just realized that my old PSU is going to be my new "12v Battery". Sweet.

Thanks for the replays, I do have a PCI-E slot, and was thinking about the EVGA GeForce 8500 GT. What do you think? Would it work? would it be enough for aerofly?

Setting up the Hacker x-30 ESC With the Typhoon 2 motorp
My e-flite esc died on me, so I used an old x-30 I had. Its working rather odd. When I set the throttle from off to idle, it will have a delay, then turn to about 1/3 power, then go down to idle. I've looked in the manual but I'm still not sure how I should set it up. What do you think?

RE: Smoke from ESC, motor fault?
Replaced! Works ok I think, but... When I throttle up from off to idle, the motor would speed up, then speed down to the idle speed. I don't get it, probably something with the ESC settings, right? Any ideas how can I get a hold of the manual?

I've checked, everything looks normal. Do you think Horizon Hobby would replace my ESC and/or Motor, I had it for about 6 mounths... Is there a way to tell if the motor is still good without killing another ESC?

Smoke from ESC, motor fault?
Hey all. I've been flying my Typhoon 2 3d for quite some time now, and yesterday, after couple of flight - this happens: I change packs, plug it in and - No sound from the ESC. It happened before, so I just unplugged it and re plugged it. 3 beeps as normal. I try the throttle slowly - and get some weird response. At first it felt like "On and Off" kinda thing - the prop wouldn't spin more then 1/8 a spin. Then when i pushed it further up, it felt like the gears where grinding, then a high pitch scream (like an engine w/o a prop). Then I've decided something is wrong (the whole thing took about 4 seconds). I took everything apart, and the next time I've plugged the battery back in - the ESC defiantly smoked. Now, I get a very low ohm readings from the motor wires (As if they where all shorted). I know little about these motors, but it seems wrong. How can I tell what's wrong and what should be done? Thanks

RE: AC Lipo Charger
Thanks for the replays. I used to use a computer power supply, and it was nice. I think that will have to be my next (10 minutes) project, once I'll find a computer no one needs. I'm not going to pay $90 for the Vision Peak Ultra, I used to use it, and it didn't fully charge my TP packs, all other chargers did... My car battery shows 12.5V so i think the problem is with the Park-zone charger...

Thanks Swift427. I'm not going to buy an AC-DC thing, either I'll find a good AC charger, or I'll get myself a 12V battery. Will check the car soon. Nobody know a good AC charger?! Am I posting in the wrong form?

AC Lipo Charger
Hey you guys. Well, I've been flying and charging my typhoon 2 3d using my car battery for a while. Lately instead of getting the 12.6V reading I used to get, I'm getting stuff between 12.3 to 11.8V. I don't think all my 3 packs had gone old at the same time, and they are pretty well balanced. So I think, its either the car battery, or the charger. Even if it is the car battery, thats a sign for me to switch to a "non-car-charging" which means something to do with AC. A husky jump start could work, but way not get a good AC charger and forget all about the Parkzone charger? I used to use a friend's Ultra vision (?), but I'm looking for something cheaper. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks.

Did any of you guys tried using it with the Parkzone Typhoon 2 3D motor (and gear box)? I'm trying to save a few bucks[sm=thumbup.gif] The Typhoon weighs 26oz, and hovers easily with this motor, so what do you think?
