RE: Tornado tranny help
I'm guessing just undo the grubs out of the drive cups, then the 4 screws holding the tranny in. That didn't show him taking the tranny off the chassis. Thanks for the video though. Anyone else shine some light please...?

Tornado tranny help
Sorry for the dumb question in advance... I have to replace my spur gears in my 2 speed tranny, and was wondering besides the 4 screws that hold the tranny in place...what else do I need to undo to get the tranny out for gear replacement? I only ask because I don't wanna rip apart things that don't need to be messed with. Thanks in advance.

RE: Tornado spur gear question
Thanks for the info man. I recently wrecked it, so that probably shifted the motor. When I checked after I wrecked it, 2nd gear was fine for 2 tanks, then 3rd tank 2nd gear teeth chewed flat. When I replace the gears, do I just unscrew the 4 screws on the bottom of the aluminum skid plate, and drive cup? Or is there more stuff I have to take off to get to pull my spur gears out?

RE: Tornado spur gear question
Its awesome as hell! This is my first hobby grade rc, and I'm in love with it. LOL I'm glad I got a Redcat instead of spending double on a Traxxxas. (no offense to Traxxas fans) I've always wanted one since I was little, and now I know what I've been missing. I still wish I had my old Tyco RC Hammer, that thing was the best toy grade RC I ever owned. I'm thinking of getting a brushless next, or maybe even go 1/8 nitro. Not sure yet. The only thing is about the Tornado is it bounces around alot, so my next RC will probably be a truck.

Tornado spur gear question
My spur gear in my transmission for 2nd gear, teeth have been what looks like "chewed to flat surfaces". Sorry I cant include a pic my cameras pics are crap quality. Does anyone have an idea what could could be contributing to this? Is this an ongoing thing with Tornados? Thanks for your help.

RE: Painting Tornado S30 wheels?
LMAO @ Sharpie marker. I got some RIT dye tonight and got some Rustoleum gloss black touch-up piant in a rattle can. I'll try the dye first, then if that doesnt work just rattle can it. I didn't even think about touch up paint. LOL Its too bad they dont sell black rims, like the ones that come on the Shockwave. By the way, has anyone tried painting the heatsink a diff color? They have that high-temp engine paint in black. I wonder if i could use that? Would prob have to de-anodize the blue off first? Thanks for all the awesome feedback so far.

Painting Tornado S30 wheels?
Has anybody repainted their Tornados wheels? I was planning on repainting them black, and didn't know if anyone has done it or had some insight on the matter. i tried Krylon for plastics, but just looked runny. Guess I'll have to get fine grit sandpaper? Now comes the paint...Laquer, model paint.....? Any info is appreciated. Thanks a lot.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
I havent ever heard that before, but I had to change mine before my car was broke in. I've heard that its better to change your glow plug after you break in the engine because the break-ins hard on the glow plug. I'm still a newbie to the hobby, but thats what I've heard. I would grab an extra just in case. Hope my input helped a little. P.S. As for the o-rings, I have no clue. I didn't need to mess with any of them when i got mine.

tornado s30 steering knuckle questions
2 questions... 1. I'm replacing my steering knuckles to the aluminum ones. How do you get the ball Home page of the leading discount RC screw distributor for model builders. screws out of the steering knuckle? Or do I not get them out? idk 2. I took off the old knuckle and cant get these chrome hex things out. Do I need to get these out for my new aluminum knuckles coming? If so, how? I've tried pushing them out, and can't budge them. (picture attached) Thanks for your time.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
Hello again everyone. Tonight I wrecked my tornado, and busted my wheel off. I got the dogbone that came out. Luckily it looks like the only thing that busted was the steering knuckle, and the exhaust bent up. On the bearings attached to the wheel, do I have to unscrew the black nut to get the old knuckle off? Also, can I get the bearing out of the wheel or have to buy a new one? The steering arms have the ball screws on it, do I screw those out to put the new knuckle on, then screw them back in? Sorry for all the questions. This is my first hobby rc, and dont have a clue on how to replace any of this stuff at all. All comments appreciated, and if anyone knows a link to a site or video on how to replace it all that would be awesome. Thanks in advance to everyone. If it helps, I could post some photos.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums and was wondering if I could get some questions answered about my Tornado. I'm currently in the process of breaking in the engine but can't complete due my throttle/brake servo not responding to pistol remote. When I start to turn everything on and fire my car up, everything works, then after about 3-5 minutes my T/B servo doesn't respond to remote, but my steering servo has no interference. Then, sometimes after my remote stops responding my car goes full throttle, and its making my break-in very hard to finish. I've changed the batteries in car/remote 3 times, not near any power lines or fences, and checked to make sure all wiring to the receiver is plugged in right and tight. Any answers will be greatly appreciated so I can found out whats wrong. Thanks for your time.
