RE: CMP Zero Makeover
well, lets see.... the motor, motor box, and ESC weigh in at 4lb 5oz. two of the 6 cell lipo's weigh in at 4lb 3oz all 4 lipo's weigh 8lbs 7oz. all that together weighs 12lbs 1oz !!! wow lol, well I should be able to use that weight to balance it anyways, and I'm sure it will handle it fine. that's about 25lbs, 7oz total. It will probably end up just over 26 lbs...Not all that bad for a bird this size actually. Casey

As the plane sits now, it is 13lb6oz. I have not weighed the motor and ESC, or for that matter the 4-6cell lipos. I'll try to do that later tonight. I'm still waiting on my spinner from Yellow aircraft. I need it before I can move forward with the motor install. Casey

Hey Bobby sorry to hear about your issues. Give Sierra a call early in his business day. I've always had him answer. Remember Topgun was just going on and he probably was down at that event. I have five pairs of Pair of Sierra gear, that all work flawlessly and his services always been commendable. He won't screw you over and he will take care of it. He's good man doing good business that can be hard to get a hold of. Casey

I don't have a problem with captive schemes, I believe the Germans were known to have actually flown some of them during combat conditions. I've heard accounts of B17's and P 51's off the top of my head... Casey

RE: Are there constant load servos for flaps?
Drove me crazy it did.....couldn't figure out why something so simple couldn't be fixed, until I saw that the fulcrum of the hinge was too far into the wing....still don't know how I did it, but that was the problem. Big ole digitals didn't help, nothing did until I fixed the hinge. Casey

RE: Are there constant load servos for flaps?
If his flap hinge is seated in the wing too far this still won't help, nothing will as every time you raise the flaps you will get the same results Ask me how I know.... Casey

RE: Are there constant load servos for flaps?
Check your hinges. I had a plane do the same, and after a closer look, I found that I had seated my flap hinges just alittle deep in their pockets and this was causing it. When the flaps were full up I was basically trying to pull the hinge out of the wing with the flap.... Casey

RE: Military colors only at warbird meets?
ORIGINAL: FireBee I love white airplanes and three of my favorites are racers. At-6 Miss Everything piloted by Ralph Rino and two time winner, P-51 Miss Bardhal, and Cook Cleland's F2g-2 #94. But today most events don't allow these warbirds. My third airplane was a Jemco AT-6, designer was j.e.meister. Perhaps you know his giant scale taken over by Dino. Anyway I finished 3rd in a contest (80's) with my ''Miss Everything'' paint scheme. One of the maneuvers I used was Reno racing laps. I did 3 laps low and fast and wrapping up the turns. One judge told me I was downgraded because I flew too fast for scale speed. Whoops senior moment that was a scale event. So is a white japanese Zero a warbird? How about a bashed At-6, painted like a Zero? Would you let him fly? Since Reno racers are usually tabu and I too don't like the trainer warbird, I have found a Navy Snj-4 in pacific tri-color blue, white scheme. Crew delivered intel reports and photo recon pics between bases around New guinea. For defense it had a .303 machine gun in the starboard wing. This will be what I use for my Ziroli At-6 someday.
There actually were white Zero's before we sank all of the carriers that they were based off of, so yes a white Zero would be correct. Chad, with a name like Gohmer, I doubt you will see any chance in his attitude....just look at his posts...smart a**ed remarks for the most part....oh, but he likes Hobby King! Kinda surprising as most of the guys I know up in his neck of the woods are pretty good people. Oh well. Ron, I can understand being bummed about being able to fly it at the same show last year, and not being able to this year. Rules are rules and sometimes they suck. Glad you got to fly though. I'll be ther next year with a flock of Luft planes for sure! Casey

fokke, Please don't go with a HK setup on your beautiful 109.... I think it deserves better! I've had great luck with the eflight systems, and AXI(although more expensive) I've not had very good luck with the HK stuff I've bought(it all was scrapped....1 100amp ESC, and two 5 cell battery's....rubbish) Casey

Bruce, Do you think the hs82mg will have enough "sh*t in their britches" (as Gramps used to say) lol. I know that Futaba makes some very powerful and thin wing servos. I have used these in a glider with a very thin wing, and they were monsters for torque.... Casey

RE: 150% enlarged WingontheWeb HO-229
Thomas, I have to ask, just how are you getting 4 90mm fans, 4 ESC's, and all the battery's for $650? When I set up my edf F86 (that was also a 90mm fan). It cost me $650 for the setup from EJF(electric jet factory)and I didn't even go with blisteryourass speed. I was getting in the range of 6 to 6.5 lbs of thrust from that one fan, running on 8 cells... Casey
