b4256 g'day and welcome check to see if you have any damage to your electrical components ie:electrical cables that may have been rubbing on some part of the model and baring the wire or binding of the motor, damage motor wires, poor connections between your speed controller, ballast pump, sensors and controll board. Also did you find any moisture inside the model when you pulled it apart?,water or moisture could have caused the short if any had/was inside the model. did you smell any electrical burnt smells comming from the model when you opened it up,have you had a look at the motor or is that running okay when you run it?. cheers, glenn.

G'day Bryan,I'm working at the moment so I'll strip it down on daysoff and see what the problem is with it. Aquasub,I was surprised that it wasn't pumping either as the motor was running fine and nothing seemed to be wrong with it.

AQUASUB what did you use to enlarge your fore planes and how did you make them?. So far the only mods I've done is fit the 6 Blade option to it and mount a gopro Hero HD camera to the front of it. cheers, Glenn.

G'day Jim and welcome, when you click on post reply and the message box comes up at the bottom you have two links you can click on. One is called BETA and the other says click here to upload images and files (I use this one). 1. click on the click on here to upload images and files, this will bring up a multilpe upload box that says browse at the right hand end. 2.click on this and then select the file/folder on your PC to upload from (i'm assuming you using windows),then select the pic you want to upload. 3.click on save and it then should come up on the file upload box. You can upload multiply pics doing this and then when your finished click on ok,just becareful of the size of each of the pic's as the uploader may time out. I'm having problems with the endurance of my Tx battery,it goes flat after a couple of minutes regardless of how long the Tx has been on charge. I'll be changing the the radio out for one that is legal in Oz as the one that came with mine isn't. cheers, glenn.

Flying Fiz Date 2/8/2012 6:26 AM Yes I always do a Fist Pump on take off. I spin the heli up on the ground and while its still on the ground I flick it into IU1 and then zoom the throttle full bore straight up all the way! The heli fairly zooms into space, I put my Tx down, have a big Fist Pump, then down another Fosters Lager and then start flying. How else would you do it? Flying Fiz Date 2/8/2012 10:12 AM To all the Aussies here, you will be pleased / relieved to know I really don't drink Fosters! Best Phil DAMN IT,PHIL,YA' CAN'T GO AROUND SCARING PEOPLE LIKE THAT!. Life is frustrating at the moment and getting in the way of flying, off to perth again on saturday and home on the 18th hopefully no rain between now and then.

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible
G'day all, been reading with interest the above postings on Dr's and EPA's and my understanding is that end point adjustment feature merely dictates the max travel of the servo at either end of it's travel from centre ie:-the max servo arm travel is 125% and the EPA is set at 100% the sevo when given full deflection of the Tx stick will only move the servo arm as far as 100%(which function doesn't matter as EPA is the same for all four stick functions). Dual Rates on the other hand only controls the speed at which the servo/s respond to any given stick input of that particular function (except for throttle function which is an non DR equipped function)ie:-if the servo is rated at 60/0.22 sec's@4.8v's and the low rates are set at 40% then the servo will respond at a slower rate,a high rate setting will allow the servo to respond at a faster rate and is not affected by the EPA settings. As the gyro is nothing more than an anti rotation device, who's job it is to keep the tail straight I am having a bit of difficulty understanding how the DR&EPA settings affect the gyro as rudder imputs from the stick only control the rudder servo and has no direct imput into the gyro. This is of course my understanding of how it works, but I could just be alittle confused by it all.lol[sm=teeth_smile.gif]

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible
G'day all,it's been a few days since I've thrown my input in. I agree with what has been posted about how this thread has evolved and feel this has been good for all of us as it's thrown up some very interesting topics and problems and solutions at the same time. I'm like Bryan and Hugh as I like to fly fixed wing (and pretty badly at that!Lol) aswell as the choppers and this thread keeps me interested and enthused, whereas other thread's have a tendency to die off or go stagnant arfter awhile if the posters stay on topic!. The Mcpx is also a good holiday/vacation model as you can take it with you and fly it almost anywhere aswell as a great little trainer and is damn near indistructable. Okay my flying had been curtailed over the last three weeks due to rain and a tropical cyclone and the fact that it took me 2hrs and one and a tanks of fuel to mow just the back lawn, hopfully we'll get a few days rain free.

Hey Rob are/have you purchased the huey kit?,modelflight advertise the fuse for around $54.00 AUD and advertise it asa 450 size fuse-it will not fit a 450 size frame I've tried it. The fuse is well detailed and feels very durable, also the rocket launchers need to be well secured as they come off easily. Well work and wet weather as well as the odd cyclone and other more important priorities has put things on hold at the moment, hopefully this break comming I can finally get some flying in! chappie.

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible
Happy new year to all, bryan I watched you concept 60 vid and does that bring back memories,Brian the most common breakage is the tailboom and like phil I've done about five also if you deck it check that the tail rotor plug is still plugged firmly into the control board ( I didn't and lost Tr control and had to replace the TR boom!). Garry, yep I find it to be little twitchy compared to the larger heli's aswell, but then I keep trying to fly it where a lot of turbulance is produced. Joaquin nice flying mate especially as it was a spur of the moment flight. Jeff,it was suggested to me to try lengthening the tailboom to move the tailrotor further away from the main rotor down wash by another modeller last year, thank's for the tip to use ally tube although I might give the CF rod ago as I have some laying around. Rob glad you made to Vic safe'n'sound mate. yesterday I repaired the hk450 and found what was to cause of the decking of it,a dry solder joint on the ESC deans plug fortunately when she went in it was only the flybar and maingear that got damaged. Now all I have to do is find the the xt60 plugs that I have to replace the deans with. Whilst I was repairing Yellow I finally got around to fitting the cam mount Joaquin madeup for me,the only issue I had was that I had to replace the skid mounting screws with longer ones and then i remembered I had a few servo mounting screws and used four of those and they are perfect for the job. chappie.

G'day all,i have just been catching up on recent posts bryan I'd your chopper's suffering more from drag induced lazyness as you'd be hauling around a largish block(when scaled against the models size that is!). Last break I broke the 450,chipped 4 teeth off the main gear again and bent the flybar,I've near;y finished the reapairs. Christmas day is supposed to be in the mid 40's and i'll be starting nightshift on crissy night. cheers, chappy.

G'day Edmund when you are connecting the battery,do you have the model sitting flat and level surface?. If the model is tilted when doing so it will throw the gyro/s out of trim, disconnect the battery and reconnect with the model sitting flat and level-I found that one the hard way!. Other than that I'm unsure as to what could be the cause. cheers, chappy.

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible
Hi all,the area that the model is being flown in can also have an unwanted effect on the model aswell ie building's,tree's and other objects that are close to flight area causing turbulence, also is the area flat and level as the model will be prone to drifting off to the lower/down side of even the slightest of incline or any dips on the take off/landing area, during take off and landing (from experience with my big gassers). Either way if you can find a reletivley flat and level surface to fly from that may help with trimming out. Bryan (not Brian, love the last vid) regarding balancing the Concept 60,it's done with a dry tank as the tank is close to the heli's CG anyway and 0.61 size enginges can be very thirsty beast's,also the Concept 60 is capable of mild aerobatics, but as was stated in the vid 3D's out. cheers, chappy.

G'day all,I've spent the last 3 days catching up as I've been out of town for just over 2 months A/L and 6 days down at the company's ops centre,g'day Jenny and welcome. Hugh and Brian watching the kyosho Concept 60 brought back some ancient memories![:)]I had the 30 and to answer your enquiry Brian, unlike modern heli's the the models of that era (Early- mid 90's) they only came equiped with an auto clutch(one way bearing) sometime during the late 90's driven tailrotors came into being, prior to that once the engine dropped below approx 1500rpm you lost drive to the tail rotor, this what you may have been referring too?. Spiros I am in agreeance with Jeff over the hand's off hovering,I've heard the same thing and I have experienced it once and that had nothing to do with my skill more like pure arse than anything else!.lol. Managed to get 3 batts in on the mcpx this arvo,i really need to get more flying in. Oi,you lot putting the boot into the northwest of this great state,I would be deeply offended if I was easily offended but I'm not and at least we're not lacking in space, only shade, water other colours other than red or yellow.[:D] cheers, chappy.
