RE: Windy City Jets (Pilots Gift Bag)
There was about 30 pilots there which I think was great. Never a jam up on the runway. I flew whenever I wanted. No waiting. Nice weather, nice gifts and the dinner Saturday night was very good. Pizza and fried chicken. Also lots of beer was consumed. I didn't take any pictures so I hope someone else did. Great event Dave and Eric. Gary

RE: VELOX.. Build thread with Photo's..
No problem with mine. I just flew the snot outta mine this weekend at Route 66 jets. The only problem was my stained shorts and high blood pressure. With a P70 this thing is a missile and is fast enough for me. It also slowed down very nicely.

Can someone clear up the CG. Isn't the CG on the wing tube? I assume the antirotation pin the the pin toward the LE.

RE: Velox Pilots
I just started building my Ve Lox. What do I need to look for and be careful about. I don't like how they do the flaps. Had they moved one of the flap horns to the other side of the flap I would not need a servo reverser. Other than that the kit is good so far.

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?
I flew the snot out of mine this weekend. For $119 this is a great flying airplane. I had it ready to fly in a week. I have a O.S 46 heli which is good power but this airplane could use a 50. I do not like the placment of the landing gear because rotation is a trick. It just jumps into the air and you and it better be ready to fly. It needs to run down the runway until it is up to speed. It lands like a real jet. It needs power until it is over the runway. Then pull the power and let it settle. I didn't put any rudder servos in and just taped the surfaces. Seems to be ok except snaps are not real good. Did anybody else not use the rudders? Gary

RE: new Arf Boomerang 14lb thrust
frothingslosh, I put the P70 in mine and did the same thing you did. I have not flown mine yet but just make sure the turbine clears the formers and I also used the BVM heat shield on the inside of the fuse. I also turned around the mount so it would fit. There are pictures in this thread from someone else who also used the P70. Take a look and good luck. I hope to fly mine tomorrow. Gary

RE: new Arf Boomerang 14lb thrust
Started building my BB today. This is a great kit. It shows you dont have to give Bob $4000 to get a good kit and good flying airplane. Is everyone using the supplied hinges without any problem. What servos? I am planning on using Futaba 3050s which are 92 OZ on 6V. Has anyone put a P70 in the BB. Looks like a tight fit. Gary

RE: How much runway to launch P80 powered Roo
If this is any reference, I flew a P70 powered Roo from pavment near sea level and used about 500 feet. I don't know how 3500 feet will affect a turbine but you should be ok. Gary

RE: Horizon Hobby Yak 54F, anyone fly yet?
Flew mine last night indoors.I got mid-aired in a hover on the first pack.Minimal damage.TP 900 was good for 15 minutes of mixed hovering and slow flight.I was not happy with the knife edge coupling. It hovered very well.It lands really nice for a foamy.

RE: Horizon Hobby Yak 54F, anyone fly yet?
Ok-my set up.10X3.8 /Phoenix 10/1080kv 370 outrunner/Superlight build. My question is what 3cell battery to get for a light setup with power to hover and won't cut out my esc.I have flown other 370s with 20 amp esc and 1320s,and the power and vertical pull out of hover is exceptional as far as I am concerned.I just want the slow flying ability for the down on the deck aerobatics that only a light package can provide.I am willing to give up a little power.
