Brenner, I spoke with APC this morning and they re-weighed the props. The website numbers currently displayed are incorrect. Should be 3.1 oz and 3.35 oz. Gary

Brenner, The APC site lists a 20.5x 20.5 @ 4.34 oz and a 20x22.5 counter rotating @ 4.09 oz. If these are the props you are referring to, the weights do not agree. Gary

RE: Contra Rotating Propeller Drive for f3a 2m Pattern Planes
Hi Brenner, I would like to understand what options are available to me for my particular installation. Installing the contra drive in my Sebart required placing the motor mount foward of the "firewall" ring which prevents me from shimming 3mm rearward. 1. Is adding 3mm of material to fuselage an option? 2. If I understand the backward compatibility can I leave V2 manifold and V2 gearcase in place and mate the remaining V3 components? 3. Then use V3 manifold and V3 gearcase with V2 components on a second airframe? On another matter, I regreased the drive through the driveshaft. Needless to say it is much quicker and easier than disassembly. However, after subsequent flight I noticed grease on spinner and rear prop. This grease must have exited the driveshaft vent hole. Is an extention to the syringe available that would place grease directly in area of planentary gears? Thanks, Gary

Hi Dave, I think I understand the thinking but am not clear on how to epoxy ring and check the thrust angles during installation. Do you tack ring with ca and then push in epoxy? I believe there is a post of you with Wind 140. Any particular problems with that installation? What is propeller ground clearance? Gary

I am installing a ZDZ 80 in a GP 330L. It is necessary to cut an opening in the firewall to accommodate the carb. How close to the upper edge of firewall can I safely cut this opening? Are there any performance issues if the engine is lowered?
