Yes, the Leopard is still available. As to what you need to make it RC....pretty much all the RC components, meaning DMD T-07, motors, gears, wirings, etc etc. I'm not really an RC guy, so I really cannot give much advice regarding RC stuff. I would only advice purchasing this tank if painting/modelling is not your forte, and want a tank that's been professionally painted with accurate camo and colors.
ORIGINAL: takevin That would have been me,i also said I would take the jagpanther which was available per your pm, and then you never got back me thanks. Ill skip the leopard btw.....[&o][8|] FYI the pm system does record pms sent to you, all you had to do was look at that..
The PMs record the replies sent to me, but it doesn't save the replies I sent to other people. And when people are asking pretty similar questions, and are saying basically saying the same things, with similar Subject titles, it does get confusing which person I spoke to, not being able to know which message I sent to other people. That's why I put up a list here in this thread, so everyone can see who got what tank. If I could actually go and look back at the messages I sent to people, I could actually go, "Oh hey, I said I would save the so and so tank to so and so person." But I can't. In fact, some other person has claimed that he is the one that I actually conversed with, about saving the Leopard for him, in case Blitzkrieg backed out. Not knowing if that's true, since like I said, I have no way of seeing the past replies I sent to people, I believe him, since he PMed me right away after my post here. I do know that I only made that promise to one person, since I've been telling people who were asking via PMs that the Leopard has been spoken for.

PM replied. As of right now, here's the status of the tanks: Tamiya Panther: SOLD to Davebcool (shipped) Tamiya Tiger I: SOLD to Pzjgr (pending shipment) Tamiya HVSS Easy-Eight Sherman: Sold to Pzjgr (pending shipment) HL Stug III: Sold to yellowshaker (pending shipment) HL Jagdpanther: On hold for MAUS45 HE Abrams: On hold to Panther F King Tiger and Pershing: On hold for tankedeguerra, if not interested anymore, then Baron_Fel will have them. Blitzkrieg unfortunately had to cancel in regards to the Tamiya Leopard 2A6, so this tank is back up for sale. I promised someone in this forum that I would give them first dibs to it in case blitzkrieg cancel, but I could not remember who it was. The PM system here doesn't record my replies to people, so I could not go back to check what messages I sent to people. If you are still interested, please PM me. If not, then this tank is still for sale. Sorry about the dust. Should have covered them up before storing them in the attic for a year. :( [image]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7041/6794239206_5d59cf9164_b.jpg[/image] [image]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7061/6794240696_6bd9160431_b.jpg[/image]

RE: Any interest in a 1/16 Tamiya Panther? *EDIT* Now with pics
I apologize if I missed some PMs. There's literally multiple persons PMing me at the same time. Sometimes, I may have overlooked some PMs regarding questions about the tanks, because there are literally people just asking to pay for them right away, at the same moment. So of course they get first dibs. Panther F: The HE Abrams is still reserved for you. I sent you a PM about our trade, and was just waiting for a response from you. Lincs Winks Wayne: Sorry, I may have accidentally forgot to answer your PM, because the the Leopard was already reserved to Blitzkrieg. I was informing people the best I could about tanks that was already sold/spoken for. I need to check the order of the PMs, because I believe I already promised the Leopard to someone else, if the deal with Blitzkrieg doesn't fall through. PS: I'm not taking better deals. I sold the Panther, Tiger, Sherman, Stug at the price I asked for. I wouldn't sell something to someone that I promised to someone else just because they offered a better price. PPS: Devebcool, I just sent out your Panther today. I will PM you the details/tracking number when I get home. :) Pzjg, Your tanks will ship out tomorrow.

PS: Here are the extra pics of the Pershing, for those who were asking. Please pardon the dust. The tow cables can actually be removed, but I suggest not doing it, because the PE clamp is very fragile. RE: Any interest in a 1/16 Tamiya Panther? *EDIT* Now with pics
Thanks guys. I really learned a lot from this hobby, and been amazed plenty of times by the work I've seen you guys do with your tanks. I'm still a total noob when it comes to RC stuff (don't even know how to solder!), but I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with everyone about the historical aspects of our tanks. Here are pics of the HL Jagdpanther. I've looked at it, and I'm beginning to think that my asking price was a bit low, because I forgot just how much upgrades I added to it. BUT, I don't want to go back on my word, so this is still $50.00. I've been in the process of painting it, but never had the time to finish it, then just lost interest. I added loops for the camo wirings. [image]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7203/6937203203_bb83409d48_b.jpg[/image] Metal upgrade for the spare track holders. (Axis Modellbau, If I remember correctly) [image]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7209/6937201025_516daef457_b.jpg[/image] PE tool holders. Thanks for the replies, guys. I also have other 1/16 tanks I would like to get rid of. But first, here's another photo of the Panther, to show its insides. [image]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7209/6932106767_36b3885c0e_b.jpg[/image] I am also selling this Hobby Engine Abrams. It runs fine, although it has a damage on the commander cupola and the commander's right arm. Maybe someone who is more knowledgeable with RC could use this as a starting point? [image]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7046/6932100801_88e5dbb669_b.jpg[/image] [image]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7183/6785979170_e2ab2926f7_b.jpg[/image] I am also selling a Tamiya 1/16 Tiger I, full option, minus the recoil and flash mechanisms. All other RC components (DMD, T-03, etc etc) are still in the tank, in working order. Asking price is $300 I am also selling 1/16 formerly RC tanks that I've converted to static models. 1/16 Tamiya Pershing. No RC components whatsoever. Asking price is $200 + shipping. 1/16 Sherman 76mm HVSS with Nick Aguilar's T-23 Turret No RC components whatsoever. Asking price is $200 + shipping 1/16 Tamiya/Mato hybrid King Tiger. This has the turret and upper hull of a Mato KT, and the lower hull and suspension of a Tamiya King Tiger. This tank also has a full PE upgrade, metal tow cables, etc etc. Asking price is $200 1/16 Heng Long Stug III. All the RC components are still in the tank, but the wirings have been snipped. Asking price is $50.00 + shipping. 1/16 Heng Long Jagdpanther. All the RC components are still in the tank, but like the Stug, I've snipped out all the wirings. Asking price is $50 + shipping. I also added some PE parts on this tank, because I originally wanted to make this tank 100% accurate model. Here are some pics. These are old, but I will take new pics upon request if you're interested. HVSS 76mm Sherman. King Tiger Tamiya Tiger I Better pic of the Tiger I, plus the Tamiya Leopard. Any interest in a 1/16 Tamiya Panther? *EDIT* Now with pics
I'm getting out of the hobby, preferring the smaller scale. I have a fully built, fully painted Tamiya 1/16 Panther G, complete with upgrades like Impact metal tracks, metal tow cables, full PE set, etc etc. I will throw in the old Futaba Skysport transmitter/receiver that I've been using as well. Asking price is $700 I also have a full built and painted Tamiya 1/16 Leopard 2A6, minus all RC gear. Asking price is $300. Here are the pics of the Tamiya Panther G. Pardon the dust. [image]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7043/6930607119_88218fee18_b.jpg[/image] Also changed the style of exhaust, as a lot of Panther G didn't have the exhaust shroud. [image]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7044/6784488542_27f0cb53b3_b.jpg[/image] Hull spare track links. Those are actually removable and installed on the tracks, should you need it! [image]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7202/6930602385_369a193fe7_b.jpg[/image] Metal tow cables, PE parts, etc etc [image]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7185/6930598689_ea80249ffa_b.jpg[/image] Also comes with the Impact mantlet, which is more detailed than the stock mantlet. It also eliminates that barrel wobble. [image]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7192/6930591775_0a67b71585_b.jpg[/image] Tank commander plus spare metal track links on the turret sides, which are removable as well! RE: 1/16 Panther Tank Tamiya Barrel Accuracy?
So wait, first, Schumo claimed that the Tamiya aluminum barrel was too short, now they are claiming that it's too long??????? I think it's all hype, designed to sell a replacement part that you don't really need. Here's the old advertisement Schumo showed a couple of years ago: IMHO, get either one.
ORIGINAL: bhop73 I don't get all the hostility...or see any mess.
Exactly. People don't get what they want become irate because the companies that produce and sell these tanks for a living (as opposed to simply being a hobbyist) have the gall not to cater to their every whim.

Well Heng Long has been around for a while now. So they must know how to run a business. I figure they know what they're doing. Sometimes, it's so easy to say what will sell, but they're the ones in business selling these tanks. We just buy them.

RE: Weathering
Some other factors must also be considered. Simply painting a piece of metal and leaving it outside for a year will not show the same effects compared to as say, a vehicle that have seen much combat. Factors that must be thought of: 1. Today's paints are tougher, compared to those used 70 years ago. 2. Just how much combat has a vehicle experienced? Just how abused did it get? 3. What environmental conditions did the vehicle operated in? 4. What types of metal are you trying to weather? For example, steel and aluminum age and rust differently. The best way to judge is to simple look at today's modern AFV vehicles, then you'll have some idea just how bad chipping and weathering these tanks may have. Here's a pretty good thread that has pics of modern day tanks and AFVs that has seen some combat: http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=SquawkBox&file=index&req=viewtopic&topic_id=151367 What's telling is that those tanks that served in Iraq and Afghanistan shows plenty of rust.

RE: Wanted: Leo 2A6 (built or as kit)
ORIGINAL: WhiteWolf McBride Now I'm a tad bothered... There is a bidder on kenskel's Leopard that appears to be pushing the bidding now that its over $500. Feedback is rated at 258, but looking at bidder's 30 day summary caught this: 30-Day Summary : Total bids: 66 ; Items bid on: 39 ; Bid retractions: 14 (thats the past 30 days!) ; Bid retractions (6 months): 143 Now you guys wanna let me know what you think? Is that a ~disturbingly~ high number of bid retractions? Could he be a shill? I've not made 14 bid retractions in my whole eBay HISTORY of almost 10 years... (will be 10 years Easter Monday)
Maybe. Or maybe he's one of those people who uses the bid system in order to check what other people's maximum bids are. ex: He's looking at an auction, but doesn't want to pay more than $300 for the item. He'll bid $1,000 and see what's the maximum bid is. If it's over $300, then he'll simply cancel his bid.

RE: Are Our Tanks Really That Good ??
To say that the tank is less irrelevant in the battlefield today because of modern aircraft and AT missiles is a bit naive. You might as well say that aircraft is now obsolete considering how plentiful and sophisticated today's SAMs are. The truth is, even if there's no more tank vs tank combat, it has been proven time after time that a heavily armored vehicle with a large gun is sorely needed in the battlefield. Despite what you see on the news, soldiers do not have a 24/7 CAS they can rely on. They don't always have an F-18E with JDAMs to their disposal. But a tank will always be with the boots on the ground providing fire support if needed. And as for enemy aircraft wanting to drop bombs on our tanks, that's what the F-22s, F-18s, F-15s, etc etc are for. :)

It would be interesting to see a next-gen MBT. :) I just hope that whatever it is they are going to produce that's "going to change the way people look at Germany" is better than what they produced during the 1940s, because that didn't end to well for them. [:D]

RE: Are Our Tanks Really That Good ??
ORIGINAL: ObsessiveTanker The Bundeswehr is curently working on the latest version of the Leopard series, designed to counter the tanks that modern militaries are expected to put in used within the next thirty years. It is believed to be fielding a 140mm Panzerabwehrkanone specifically designed for one purpose in mind-to destroy all tanks at any range. It is very hard to find information on this but my friends in the Bundeswehr who have heard about it say that it has a new type of armor that is 'going to change the way people look at Germany' to put it in his words. I can't wait to see it come off the production lines!!!! Ob's stürmt oder schneit, ob die Sonne uns lacht,
You mean this thing? http://fprado.com/armorsite/Leo2_Pics/leo2_140mm_color.jpg http://www.fprado.com/armorsite/Leo2_Pics/leo2_140mm_color-2.jpg It's been around since the 1990's. The Germans tested it and found it was just too unwieldy to use on the Leopards. That's why they went for the L55 version of the 120mm gun.
