Ss on a bobcat will be a great combo. Can't go wrong there A very mild gyro setting on the rudder stops the waggle too. Amazingly so

Three things Check valve Bend sticks into flow Open up the gap around your engine so it won't pull air in from the back at full throttle. Need an inch air gap around motor I get plenty smoke out of one stick and the system pressure is higher. Personal pref

+1 to Boli's, Scotts, and Tams comments.. Look for the common threads instead of pointing fingers.... fuel or INSTALLATION.. I bet 10 cents someone forgot to add oil to the fuel.. baseless accusations.. it has gone on long enough... Two choices....own up fully or go away.. the Jet community has no patience for dishonesty

RE: CO2 extinguishers
Ya, I wish there was a simple Co2 rattle can with the straw that was cheap.. thats all it would take for a jet most of the time.... If you have a real fire at a crash site, you should use water... A garden pump sprayer works fine for water..cheap.. one more technique... most guys have a blower handy for cooling.. it will also put a fire out if its just residual jet fuel on something.. blows it out quickly..I saw a tailpipe fire put out lickety split by a leaf blower down the intake..

RE: Spektrum DX18
You can use a watt meter, just plug between battery and reg.. might have to make some adapters.... I just use my watt meter most of the time and do trial and error.. just to make sure.. most jets are around .2 to .6 amps at idle. depending if there are gyros and such.. Flaps are also a common culprit at the full up, there is often high current if the settings are over driven to the stops.. brakes too.. just cycle everything and eliminate that from the equation and then you will also know the idle current.. Story: I was helping a buddy set up a jet with 1 A123 2300. on a fully charged battery, we set up all the flight controls, but I assumed the other stuff was set.. the jet wasn't buzzing or anything.. we had it on for a bit... we went and flew it once.. all well... After that, we charged it and the battery held 2000mah.. we were about to lose the jet.. culprit: binding servo, but not enough to buzz.. idle amperage was 2.4 amps... we were lucky.. keep troubleshooting.. you will find it.. Additionally, I would recommend you plug a Cricket into the Box.. it has a voltage tell tale and its really accurate..cheap.. fromeco.org... I use the cricket on most new jets.. it blinks at the lowest voltage seen... I have seen descrepancies between the telemetry min V and the cricket.. I believe the cricket...

RE: Super sport No hand over of control
recheck all your connections and relearn your transmitter. Before doing that, plug a servo into your throttle channel to make sure its working, then reconnect the ECU and check everything.. I had flux inside my deans plug once, and wasn't getting good connection to the battery for ECU... the flights could have loosened a plug... make sure you have a good rpm signal, throttle signal, and a good EGT signal. If its out of range, it wont let you have control remove your battery connector and check it for continuity, then replug it.. just some things I thought of

.4 is actually alot for a Nano, for regulator drop.. hook up an ammeter and check all your surfaces and gear/brake servos.. the most common culprit is the gear servo being not set right..

RE: Spektrum DX18
its s smorgasbord radio.. my setup is Basically the same as 12X..I use E for smoke, because it was Aux2 on the 12x and learned it that way.. some guys use sliders or B or the button for smoke.. Its cool that you can do it anyway you want... Make it like you learned your old one because you will have less chance for a switch error at a critical time. With the 12chan, it doesn't matter what channelization you use.. The pain of setting it up helps you learn it and learn what you want.. As far as throttle trim, you can use the digital trim and the kill button, or the slider.. I prefer the slider..because the kill button is also the trainer button... , which is also why its not smoke or brakes...:) I put my gyro and smoke on 11/12 because i dont look at them in the monitor .. the first 10 show on the first monitor page...11+ show on the Xplus page.. Once you get a baseline model setup, then just copy it over and over and change the config... do that before you bind to a new model because if you change wing config, it will steal channels...it takes some trial and error to get it done...

RE: Mobil DTE light?
The only differences I can find on 24 vs Light is in the additives.. 24 has anti shear anti wear additives, such as zinc.... they are made from the same stock base.. 24 is designed to be used as a hydralic oil, and light is a machine oil, but again from the same stock.. so by nature of its design, the Light would foam less, and separate water better... if it were used full strength in a bearing casing All that said, in a 5% mix to paraffin, my humble opinion is it doesn't really between the two matter if its DTE 24 oil, or DTE Light machine oil.. its the same diluted base stock that "grabs" the bearing surfaces... Only a small percentage of the oil gets to the bearings anyway, so in reality, having good clean Kero is as important as what oil it has.. It appears that people have had good success with 24, with 32, with Light.. Syn turbine motor oil is a complete diff formulation because its designed to move particles and suspend them like motor oil for filtering, and have detergent, and high shear, but it still works fine for us.. again because of the dilution and the good quality base stock.. In a turbine, its about keeping the bearings flushed clean, and not galled from heat.. and to get to the rear, the fuel/oil has to cling to the shaft in most designs to migrate rearward.. fwiw...

Wow, thats some low passes... Dave's right.. and the probability of taking it home in a garbage sack goes up asymptotically( engineering for a butload) !.. I saw greg wright tie the record last weekend.. there was a small scrape on the Outside of his bandit wing after a knife edge pass down the runway.. I thought it was close... it was..wish I had a pic of it..

RE: FREE**ROUTE 66 JETS 7TH ANNUAL
We must also mention Big Mike Molinar from Cincy.. that dude drained the airport Jet A fuel tank.. He was airborne almost constantly.... I rolled out of the camper to his viper powered alarm clock every morning at sunup... rockin.. Also notable is Joe Westrich's SM Hawk.. He had a flawless Maiden before the spectators were allowed in, and had it dialed in in a couple mins.. that thing flew awesome.. For me, it was awesome turnin and burnin... this is the event my wren king cat loves... low rippin, long wheelie landings, Bandit slides, lots of smoke, and on site kero.... Thanks to R66 crew for another awesome weekend and to begin to wind down the midwest jet event season with one more to go at Octurbofest. Oh, and the parkzone P-51 foamie racing a jet... (guess who won, :)... I burned 5 Gallons of Smoke oil :) alone!! Finally, There were no aircraft losses.. just bumps and bruises... A testament to the pilots, and the equipment reliability..... Goose out...

RE: BOOMERANG XL II EMERGENCY A.D.
Once repaired, twist the horiz stab to make sure its still rigid.. after a hard landing on my first boomer, the tail began to get striation cracks in the skin too, and it required glassing to repair it, along with adding a rear "spar" in it... just twist it.. if it twists easily, then find the cracks.. mine started around the holes and servo holes..

RE: C- ARF dealer for rookie 1
I feel your pain.. mine lasted about 20 flights until I porked the landing and watched the giddyup bucking rip it apart.. It did help me a bit to angle the exhaust up a few degrees to force the tail down with the landing gear.. I used the canards about 80 degrees.. but it made it pitch sensitive inthe flare.. no speed brake... If I was hogtied and forced to get another, I would use the speed brake.. but it will take a big hogtie... not my fav plane... I went to a King cat from it with no landing issues.. much more relaxing to land...

Yes, it is fully proportional on all 12 channels on the 12 channel receivers.. activate xplus to get 11/12th chan but it is full up.. that is a change that was made before release... also get the newest download 1.02 my numbers have improved significantly on both X and 2 with it..

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video
Ruiz, I had the same issue on first setup.. As Dave said, match the rod length.. I had to use servo matching to get mine to stay together on the UF... they were about 1/4 inch off.. also, you might have to lengthen both rods and move the horn one or two teeth.. It took me a little trial and error to get it, but got it.. If you dont have the extra channel, use a matchbox.. works too..put the "mid point" at the takeoff position and subtrim to match them...then adjust the endpoints to match.. then set the flap settings to final settings... that way, when they stop at each point, they will be aligned perfectly at Up/mid/down..

Yes, its designed that way to do a mix with the elevator to the aux channel you have the aileron plugged into.. It just knows its flaperon because you didnt select ail channel... the trim still works too.. then put that mix on a switch or flt mode.

RE: Elan Has Arrived!
Gus, the brake line routes over the retract into the rectangular gap that is left by mounting gear.. then you have to grind a little notch so it can round under and join the retract line... then your cylinder cutout can mate up with them as you route them in the AFT most former hole.. the lines all come in behind the gear wells.. when its done, my flap servo wires, aileron and tail servo wires, and air lines all ended up together, so I place some aluminum tape over them all as a group for heat protection (overkill).and tied them to the rear former in the fuselage. remember to make the servo connection on the flap servos accessible because if you ever forget to put them up and haul butt, and strip one, its a bear to dig out the wires. so I left the connectors near the servo mount. that routing left enough air line in reserve to pull the gear a few times..
