Stick - 60
Going together with one of these. 66.2 wing and 60 size eng. Would someone point me in the proper direction on which servos to get? I will be using a Futaba radio and reciever , just for info. Let me know what most guys would use on this plane. Fairly large so as always ,,,,,, standing by. gphil

Avastar wing
Had a little mishap with the ole girl and need to adhere the two wing sections. They just pulled apart a little so I was thinking epoxy. What are the thoughts out there, epoxy or Ca? Wing is not damaged just needs joined. It had been showing a crack for some time so I want it to be strong. Thanks gphil

RE: Avastar fuel tank
Yup you are correct but as mentioned, new at this etc. Also found out that the tank configuration you mentioned is true on my exsisting. So gonna see how much room I really do have in there. I know the battery and rex is up there too and wt / bal come into mind. gphil

RE: Avastar fuel tank
the way the Avastar is constructed, the chin would put the tank too far back in the fuze. The tank I have now is square and fits snug against the firewall with the pulg sticking out into the area where the engine lives. I am sure that I am making a problem out of nothing but don't want to create more problems than needed. Thanks for the info however. gphil

RE: Avastar fuel tank
Thanks guy. I also noticed that the Nexstar has the same size with the exception of the third line and being new I am assumeing this is either a top vent or filler line with an extra clunk. I have been getting longer flights than ten minutes but then I have only a .40 size engine. Thanks gphil

Avastar fuel tank
Been looking for a fuel tank for the Avastar. Plenty out there but if I remember correctly a 270c/c is the size with only two tubes . The one closet to it has three,,,,,I guess it is an overflow vent ?? Point me to a supplier. I think it has to be one that will only fit this plane. HCAA3747 is a number I saw and wrote down. Ok thanks. gphil

RE: Tailwheel installation
SeamusG, I have that exact plane copied and laying on the bench. Thanks for the extra pics. I even have to same main gear. I know that if a little tow - in is used on a conventional gear it aids in the directional control on takeoff run. This gear is crabon , plactic etc. no bending it. Do you think it really matters that much? thanks once more. gphil

RE: Tailwheel installation
I answer to the frist ,,,,, it is a Avistar , so I know it probably need some reinforcement back there so I know too that installing the blind nuts on the outside is not good so guess I will bite the bullet and go inside. and make a little stronger. I was hopeing for a lazy way out. lol gphil

RE: Radios and receivers
The reason for all this back and forth stuff about radios is the nearest hobby shop is hour drive from here. Otherwise would just go in and hand them the equipment and say make it so. gphil

RE: Radios and receivers
Then I guess your transmitter, radio, transmitts on channel 15. Tx and Rx have to match correct? I could still get the 46 crystal for the current receiver and use it with the current 46 in my radio, if so great. gphil

The servos are Futaba 3003 and the radio is Futaba Skyport 4. The up dated radio has a small screen and handle several planes. Now one is analog (fm) The other is digital ,,,, I think,,,, Makes no difference I hope???? gphil
