RE: 30cc Edge 540 build
Just have to be easy on the elevator and bring them in with a little speed. If you ask 100 different people you can get a 100 different answers. I like the way an edge flew just didn't like the way they landed.

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build
I believe its just because its an edge 540. I have never had one that was not afraid to drop a wing. Mine flew great but at slow speeds or to hard a pull on the elevator and it would snap or drop a wing. Just my. 02cents worth. I know some guys swear by them but I would much rather fly an extra or a sukhoi.

RE: NEW DLE30!
Ok its been a while with IMAC and work I finally got to work on my dle 30 increased plug gap to .024" no luck, on the ground it seemed to be ok but once in the air the miss would come back, played with the hall sensor still no luck. My next thought is to change out the ignition with a known good one which I have since I'm building a 3DHS extra with a dle 30 that I know does not have a miss.

RE: NEW DLE30!
I'm going to start with gapping the plug at .024" and see if that helps.

RE: NEW DLE30!
I have a problem with my dle 30 it has a pop to it from 1/4 to full throttle I have tried tuning it out with no luck changed the spark plug and gapped it a .018-.019 and just switched to Stil hp ultra 50:1 oil with no luck yet. I think I could have a timing issue does anybody have any thoughts on this.

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build
I used a xoar 20 x 6 with very good results, aand the same servos. For batteries I used Hobbico 2s life 2100 unregulated with no problems and just 4.8 nimh on the ingnition.

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build
Go with the Aeroworks you will be very happy. The dle 30 fits but I had to use 1/4" spacers that came with my AW 50cc extra 300 to get the prop hub at the correct distance. If you do go with the AW edge when you mount the throttle servo make sure you leave enough room to get a hex wrench in there to tighten or loosen the stand off bolts. I found out the hard way that I mounted the throttle servo to close and I could not loosen the lower left bolt when it came time to take the dle 30 off.

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build
Use a 4.8 jr sport 1500 and you will be fine. I use it on my edge with a dle 30 and after all day of flying when I charge the battery a week later it usually only puts 500 to 700 mah back in it. You don't gain any advantage of using a 6v battery and dle ignitions don't like them, it tends to let the smoke out of the electronic ignition.

I believe channels 1 and 6 are for the ailerons and 2 and 5 are for the elevators.

RE: NEW DLE30!
I had the same problem. When I would do blender and come up on the power flame out. I talked to jedi jody at VVRC the master, and he told me to richen the low end even though I had good throttle transition, well it fixed the problem.

RE: NEW DLE30!
I'll keep my dle's all 4 of them. The only problem I have had is with my 55 had to replace the membrane in the carb. but all that was is a trip to the lawnmower shop and walbro carb kit and ta da problem was gone. I just finished up my Pilot 30cc extra 260 with a dle 30 and ran the motor today, just a little rich on the high end but tons of power and it turned out to be nose heavy even with CF spinner and a sig tail wheel assembly.

RE: NEW DLE30!
You are going to the right spot. I had a similar problem with my dle 30, when doing a blender I would push down elevator and come up on the throttle when the flame out would happen like clockwork. The engine ran fine on the ground good transtion from low to high. Jody told me to richen the low end while other people said to tap and run the breather line inside the fuse, well the low end trick worked no more deadsticks. Jody told me that if you have to run the breather line inside the fuse you have an airflow issue with your cowl.

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build
Better watch routing your ignition wire through the exhaust pipes. I did it that way on mine and it took about 5 flights to burn through it. I zipped tied mine to the other stand off.

RE: Pulling all ar7000 receivers out of my planes!!!
Sure it wasnt the plane itself. I had a H-9 27% cap 232 and it was a handful, it lived up to its nickname of the cap snap. Get it to slow either while landing or in a loop, roll, etc and it would stall big time and would take a lot stick movement to get it back. Just a thought.

RE: NEW DLE30!
Need help with engine issues possibly. I have a new dle-30 on a AW edge 30cc 540, gave its 1st flight today (great plane) on its 3rd flight I tried to do a blender and when I fed in some down elevator and started to come up on the throttle the engine died two seperate times. It will fly from skyline to skyline inverted with no problem, snaps no problem there either 4 point rolls same thing, just when I start to add throttle to flatten out the spin the motor gives out. While on the ground good throttle response from idle to full throttle. Does anybody have any suggestions.

Has anybody tried one of these with a OS 160 on the front. I am building one with a dle 30 but I have a 80 OMP edge with a OS 160 that is a little under powered and was thinking about the extra 300 when it comes out.

That is on good looking spinner on the front. Was it pre cut and drilled from AW? I putting the same set up on my AE edge 540, dle-30 but I bought a 3" spinner from VVRC which was pre drilled. I tried to call AW today but they are closed until the 28th

Building kits
I've been building arf's since I started flying 5 years ago. Now I would like to build either a omp kit or a mojo 40 and was wondering about what tools, glues and other building stuff I might need and any tips that can help. Thanks Greg

RE: My OMP Edge 80
Has anybody used Robart hinges on all the surfaces and if yes how many did ya use. I'm starting to build my Edge tonight and the only hinges I have are 1/8" Robarts. On the website 1/8" should be used in .25 to .90 size models.
