RE: STROBE LIGHT PLACEMENT
the drifting is normal just adjust your trim on the tx or level the swash plate , on the tx adjust it til she does not drift for a few seconds, You shoulld be able to wire the lights into the receiver on the aux channel depending on which brand of lights you got mine came with a harness and it plugged into the receiver . I got two blue mounted to the hroizontal tail fin and a red left and green right mounted on the frame just bheind the main shaft and one white in the nose of the canopy.. The only bad thing about the lights is hover at eye leve it blinds you and make your orientaition worrse so now i was forced to hover to the side a bit ( which is,t bad), good luck

RE: B400 HS-65-MG Servo problem
it sounds like your still in hh mode , finless says to adjusat your trim until the creep stops. when your in hh mode it will not always return to center it will only always return to center in rate mode. Hope this helps

RE: GYRO ? or TAIL BOX ? Tail blowout !
Tied the trex tail blades , Tried may servos up to the Spektrum dsp75 ( worst of all even when programed for the tail ) Got B400 gyro which I will soon try I think I want to get the trex tail system to work? Yea She blow out hard to the tail in right when i gve it full elv. Only with 2150 bats the 1500s are getting tired i think ( about 150 cycles ) or my belt my be a bit tight !

GYRO ? or TAIL BOX ? Tail blowout !
I just finished putting a 43 tooth pully on my HBK2 and STILL get tail blow out when i pin it. The HBK2 has a 3800 esky with a 10 tooh , stock blades, esky hh gyro , stock tail box. pitch is at 12 oclock What do you guys think gyro or tail box / slider. I goth the full esky upgrade ( everything) but that does not include a bell controll or slider. I tried to make the old style trex se tail slider and control arem work ( 6 hrs) but no luck The stock tail box control arm mount is to far to catch the slider in all directions which kind of makes it bind sooo I gave up! I see that you guys are using the align tail slider tail clamps but which control arm. Which ones are u using with the esky upgrade tail box ( I need the slider and control arm but don't know which ones to get or if i need any other parts to make this work ) My goal is to get more pitch out of the tail blades. ANY help will be greatly appreciated. THANKS

RE: Blade 400 Main Rotor Blades
I use the Align 325 fiber on my B400 for about 13 $ a pop > I love them they are durable but HEAVY I believe not good for 3D but great for sport flying and super smooth with the Gorilla flybar paddles.

RE: B400 LOWER GEAR BEARING ON MAIN SHAFT
Thanks a lot guys I feel much better now yeah mines about 3/4 to to get the tail tol hold, Hey choppers rule on your HBK2 do you get tail blowout , I stil do even with the 43 tooth pully ! Mann I played with that thing for hours the other nite could not get the tail to hold actually had it in the air lost rudder controll saved it lost it again saved it lost it again and said the hell with it and it slammed really good into a tree ( the loudest crash I have ever heard) ,Not to much broke front servo , swahs mixer blades and feathering shaft , I have done much worse. got it going again this time on the ground could not contol the tail , give it rudder input and it would stick to that side, changed tail servos and she flies mint now. So any way the HBK2 has a 3800 10 toolth stock size blades Esky hh gyro and stock tail assembly , pitch is good , but still getting blow out when i pin it , is it my gyro or my tail assembly. ( only get blow out with the 2150 bat not the 1500 bat ( thinks they are shot) . I am going to put a post on the esky site later. One again thanks for all your guys help !!

RE: B400 LOWER GEAR BEARING ON MAIN SHAFT
tail issue is ( 401 gyro with 9257 ) that to get the tail mechanically set up in rate mode the slider is off center (1.5 mm)towards the gear box so when i get the heli to hold straight with no rudder in put my slider is off center so when i adjust my servo i loose about 2mm of travel overall. I don't know if that is normal to have the slider off center, she seems to do a peroette in about 1 second so i assume that is fast enough. It just seem that i hade to adjust the tail linkage a LOT to get it to hold straight. In my other post I think I explained it better I am starting to confuse myself now.

B400 LOWER GEAR BEARING ON MAIN SHAFT
Anyone know if the lower main gear ( tail shaft gear ) on the B400 is a one way bearing or is connected to the main shaft. Put it this way -on mine if i spin the lower gear in any direction ( clockwise or counter clockwise ) it will spin both the main shaft and tail shaft liked they are locked together . Just want to see if your guys do the same I am trying to resolve a tail issue.

RE: FUTABA 401 WITH FUTABA 9257 TAIL SLIDER NOT CENETERED ?
turn the limit up on the gyro itself (if so to what) or turn it up on the radio. I jsut donyt get it the dsp75 worked fine with the tail centered but now I am 8 clicks on the radio or 2 1/2 turns on the tail rod to get it to hold straigh in normal mode. If i center it and put it into HH yea she holds but eventually will slowley drift.

RE: b400 lipo no good anymore?!?!
try to replug it in mine did that a few time and i unpluged it and repluged it in and it worked fine. also look at where the power ( ac or dc ) goes into the side of the charger sometime the plug does not go all the way into the charger and it gets a bad connection. I think you have to run the bat so low the heli would not even lift off in order to destroy the bat. maybe the battery was to hot when you wnet to charge it.

FUTABA 401 WITH FUTABA 9257 TAIL SLIDER NOT CENETERED ?
On my B400 with a 401 and a 9257 she holds incredibley ROCK solid. The only question I have is in order to get it to stop yawing to the left I had to adjust my tail linkage a lot ( 1.5 mm ) off center in normal mode. My gain is at 80 on the dx6 stock tail blades align 315 fiber main blades and my servo horn is 90 degrees to the servo as far as i can tell. She flys great but this off center thing is bugging me a bit .Any one else have this situation.

thanks guys its all making sense now I got a 4 aa battery holder which I can put an adoptor on and a 6v receiver battery which I can also use. ( thank god for other hobbies- (Nitro truck pars)) That third wire was throwing me off but I fpund out that it was not used I will give it a shot tommorw Thanks again

BATTERY FOR SPEKTRUM DSP programer
I just recived a DSP programer for my dsp75 servo and they say I have to use a receiver battery to power the prgrammer, Kind of ticked me off because they tell you after you buy it. the dsp was 25 the batt is 35 thats 60 bucks i can by a better servo for that. so any way i am done venting. if any one knows if i can use antoher battery like a 11.1 v or if i can make one by using 5 AA batteries tied togther ( used them for breaking the brushed motors back in the day) or any other way to power this thing before i send it back ( I don't think I have any use for the receiver batt in the B400 ) I would greatly appreciate it.[:@]

RE: FUTABA 401 STUMPED !!!!!
watched finless may of times I think I will try the servo programer. Put the pusrod onto the lowest hole which made it much better but cna't get full travle no matter what I do ( fully adjusted on gyro and adjustment on radio makes no diff) the programmer sound better the more I think about it I need a quicker response the dsp 75 is .11/60 sec but if I move the rod down to the first hole it gets better so that means it is moving faster -- I think ?. All my sub trims and trims are at 0 nothing is binding I let it sit ooutside for a while (35 degrees here) I keep going back to normal mode at 50 % to make sure she still is holding steady without drifiting ,0 trim 0 input ! holds straight !

RE: FUTABA 401 STUMPED !!!!!
Flipping the swithc did not work its was only for if the tail was drifiting. My tail wag is very small maybe 1/2 inch to each side if I keep adding gain it stays the same but gets faster. so I think it may be mechanical, I am running align 325 main blades which are smaller but heay ( makes it very stable) I was wondering if my head speed could though the gyro out. I am going to try and lower the rod to the first hole which means I have to put the nut on the inside and see if it hits the servo hub. I am still stumped ( good hold in normal mode , no binding , just libed tail shaft , belt is good , have aftermarket tail blades neon ones ( sanded down to same size as stock ) adjusted the travle pot on the gyro to go a little past at full stick ( it helped a little) ( read that tha might work) i am just about out of ideas !!

RE: FUTABA 401 STUMPED !!!!!
naa she arms ok- pitch slider is good -I am going to try a little delay even they say not to with this dsp75- going to try and tighten the belt even more I also read that onece you sete the neutral position in normal mode you have to flip from normal to hh 3 times and wait for the gyro to flash so that it remember the same center as in normal ????

RE: FUTABA 401 STUMPED !!!!!
yes to all only once or twice the gyro did not arm unpluged it and plugged it back in and it was fine, UHOOH wife is dragging me out of the chair gotta go out to dinner now i will talk to you guys later hopefully you gus can help me figure this thing out. Hey on your dx7 the same as the dx6 ( o to 50 normal 50 to 100 hh) I am at 65 which is like 26% gain i Guess. what do you mean is the pitch slider moving the right way ? the heli flies fine. gyro is in normal when i pull the tail towards me the servo moves foward when i give right rudder input the servo moves foward. when i get back form dinner i check it again --gottoa go

RE: FUTABA 401 W B400 question
on the dx6 if i drop it down to 53 if fals out of hh ( red light goes off) I set the tail up at 50% in normal . 50% in hh seems to tight. I was wondering , MY gyro is mounted pretty close to the servos actually i tucked the wires inbetwweb the sevros and gyro which was a snug fit , maybe the sevo motor nois is effecting the gyro ?????

FUTABA 401 STUMPED !!!!!
I am stumped I got the 401 installed centered everythging ( holds straight in normal mode no input required) gain in hh is 65 on the dx6 the linkage is on the second hole from the bottom and she is STILL waggin ( a little) belt tension is good tried ,different tail blades, played with the gain from 55 to 95 ( 95 is wayyy to tight even 75 is to tight - at 75 she wags fast) Maybe its time to get another servo becuase am am running the DSP75 ( digital or normal mode no difference ) ANY THOUGHTS ?????[:@]
