Seaport Tug Boat converted to hobby grade
I know this is not a True scale boat that is scratch built but on the cheap it turned out to be a great scale "looking" Tug I purchased this Toy grade RC Tug Boat awhile back and I am glad I did :) It can be bought for about $80.00 online Amazon.com: Remote Control Sea Port Tug Boat RC RTT: Toys & Games and it is total junk if you plan on running it stock. What's great about it is once you gut the stock electronics and throw in some hobby grade RC parts it turns into a scale tug boat made on the cheap! I added an old JR servo for the steering, an old Axial ESC, an old Axial 55T motor, and a 2.4ghz RX. I also added some LED's, lead weights for ballast, filled in the water pump, painted and modified the boat. If you gas it full throttle with the 55T it has so much torque that the boat will want to roll over...lol but with throttle control it performs like a champ! Stock out of the box Modded
ORIGINAL: warhead71 i found it when i searched for aluminun frames, now im trying to get my EL Model RC Car 300A Motor Speed Controller ESC SE089 to work with it all it does is make the front wheel servo go  no power to the motor i cant see any ajustments on the controller, here is a pic of the esc
You more than likely need to reprogram that ESC also some ESC's have motor size limits so the first thing you need to do is figure out what motor it is and how many turns it is. Second is find out the limits of your ESC. Third get a proper ESC for the motor.
ORIGINAL: 9five9 i remember when my tt-01 (impreza wrc, same model) looked that nice.....that was a LOOOOONG time ago.
LOL Thanks sir! Since this is a drifter It should stay scratch free for the most part. I ordered my new drive shafts on 9/8 and they came this morning so when I get home I will have my front and rear diffs installed. They look like they will fit the new differentials cups and I will see if they are the right length. Wish me luck! RE: Tamiya TT01 Drift spec
ORIGINAL: Post-Amerika Far from it, sir. I was offering help to you. For the TT01, if you order other-than-stock differentials, chances are that you'll need to order other-than-stock dogbones. I ran into that same problem, and my solution was to buy new driveshafts. It may be difficult to find parts for the TT01 in the states, as the market is sustained mostly with HPI and Traxxas parts. I was giving you ideas for different sources of parts. If I were you, I'd look around (perhaps to www.genkidoridori.com) to see about importing (if need be) parts for your TT01.
looks like I need to order some more parts. The stock dog bones are to big and the outer wheel cups are also to big. Anyone know what parts I need? I saw this on 3racings site but not sure if it will fit or not http://os.3racing.hk/products.php?products_key=3794 At least I got my aluminum drive shaft and aluminum adjustable shocks installed.

RE: Tamiya TT01 Drift spec
ORIGINAL: Post-Amerika I had the same problem that you are having now when I was upgrading my TT01. Here in Japan, there is a huge following for these types of cars. Tamiya being rather popular as well. Unfortunately, some of the parts that would make your life ten times easier are easier found here in Japan rather than in the US, as the following in the US market is based around Traxxas and other speed-related brands. Eagle Racing makes some of the best parts for a TT01 that I can think of. You may be amazed at what is offered by Eagle Racing (and also the amount of parts from Tamiya that are discontinued that you can find) here. I would recommend going with a locked rear differential and a front one-way unit. It changes the car's behavior completely and makes it much, much easier to drift. <a href=''http://www.eaglemodel.com/jp-net/menu-jp.html''>http://www.eaglemodel.com/jp-net/menu-jp.html
Thanks but the only problem I am having is not knowing what parts to order like I stated in my post above. I assume your just trying to promote your web site.

Don't do the dents! At least I wouldn't do them. All the dented lexan bodies I have seen look bad IMO. Before you start doing the rust on the body grab some scrap piecs of lexan and practice. Then deiced if you want to go ahead and try it on the body. If you do the body stick to the edges of the truck and remember less is more.

RE: Tamiya TT01 Drift spec
ORIGINAL: Mr Lee No need to waist money on a locked rear diff.....just open your standard one and pour hot glue in it to lock it! Can easily be removed later if you want normal diff action again. Also try locking your front before going to a front one way.....you never know it may work for you and you won't need to spend money on that too :) Put that money towards a decent brushless system. The hobbywings are pretty cheap and reliable. I run both front and rear locked and use a hobbywing Justock sensored esc and 10,5T motor on 24/58 gearing and it is great. I could play with gearing a little to get it better but I don't have much time to mess around. The standard plastic shocks are fine and those aluminium shocks you posted will be no better than the standard ones.....you could look at getting an on road tuned spring set to tune the suspension a little. If you really want a good shock get the Tamiya TRF's.....they are the best but a bit pricey. You should also be looking at changing the prop shaft to an aluminium one as the standard one warps at high rpm. Your standard 19T pinion will also not last too long. You should upgrade to the racing spur gear set (55T and 58T) as well as the 24T and 25T AV pinion set as they are alot stronger and will allow to fine tune your ratio's with your powerplant.
Thanks for the Tips! I already got the aluminum drive shaft and the shocks are just for bling! I don't mind spending money on bling and I always wanted to try out a one way diff in the front. I have a HPI Sprint 2 Flux 5700KV that I tuned into a drifter by locking the rear with hot glue and adding PVC tires and for me it was way overpowered :) I ended up turning it back into a On Road Car.

RE: Why is a Locked rear diff better for Drifting (I got a TT01)
This has worked for me 1. PVC tires 2. Locked rear 3. On way diff up front 4. Stiff springs in front 5. Soft springs in the rear 6. Lots of practice That being said what works for one might not work for another.
