RE: 85 ft Harbor Tug/Angels Gate
ORIGINAL: LynxRA Do you have a picture of what I may have to have made also? It sure would be a lot easier by the sound of it taking the rudder off if needed for maintenance. Lynx
Here is a pic. You simply unscrew the screw and remove the bearing block, unscrew the tiller arm grub screw at the top and the rudder should drop down out of the way. Once the rudder is out of the way you can remove the prop and shaft.
ORIGINAL: LynxRA Grinder-RCU, Where do you find these (removable bearing support for the skeg) for the rudder? Phoenix Hobby Shops are the pits for anything for RC Boats. Lynx
Are you referring to pg 8 post 189 of this thread with the pics of my smaller tug?. That tug... a screw to make removing easier for the rudder maintenance. Grinder.

I was able to pick up 2 Pittman 3700 motors from Harbour models for my tug with a 33% gear reduction to a single shaft from two motors. I wil be running a 4 blade 5" prop. Hasn't been water tested yet just going by the numbers. Grinder.

Would anyone have any info on this belt drive. I sent an email address posted, haven't heard anything back yet. Could be a nice set up with Solo prop and hub. http://www.composite-arf.co.uk/P51Equipment.htm I checked the Comp arf uk site and couldn't find anything related to the belt drive pictured. Grinder.
