RE: DL 100 - New Twin on the Block!!
ORIGINAL: frieshoo
ORIGINAL: gronniger After sitting in the box for months I finally got my DL100 mounted and running! What a great running engine. I have a question regarding prop sizes; I started off with the 26x10 since I have ground clearance issues. Everyone here I talk with says that is too small of a prop for a 100. Since this is my first twin I would like to hear some input

I have a question regarding prop sizes; I started off with the 26x10 since I have ground clearance issues. Everyone here I talk with says that is too small of a prop for a 100. Since this is my first twin I would like to hear some input on props that you guys are running. Seems like the 27x10 is the most popular. What would be an acceptable 3 bladed prop for this engine and could I run a 3 blade during the break-in period, why or why not? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

RE: Hangar 9 Extra 300S 1/3 ??
I'm flying mine with a Brison 4.2 (70cc) and it doesn't have unlimited vertical but flies it great. The 330S is a little lighter and would probably perform a little better with that engine. The GT-80 would be a good choice if you want a twin with a little less bark than a 100 [:D]

RE: Hangar 9 Extra 300S 1/3 ??
I would think that the hardware pack for the 330S should work for the 330L... I would ask Horizon about that. A lot of the giant scale ARFs do not come with hardware. As far as the plane goes, it is a little heavier than the newer ones out there, but don't let that scare you, it is the best flying plane that I own.

RE: Hangar 9 Extra 300S 1/3 ??
330L or 330S? The 330L has been discontinued but the 330S is still in production.

Comp Arf Yak 55 2.1m VS. Extra 300 2.12m
Hey guys, I am trying to make a decision between these two planes. The Composite ARF Yak 55SP 2.1m or the Extra 300 2.12m....... The Extra is considerably lighter, in weight and price. I understand that you cannot judge a plane purely on weight, I'm just not sure what the advantage of each is. Does anyone have experience with either one? I would appreciate any insight that any of you guys flying these might have. I'm sure that either one would be an excellent flyer. Thanks!

RE: DL 100 - New Twin on the Block!!
Hey Bob, and all the other DL 100 users. How are your engines running? Still strong, reliable and easy to start? I am thinking about purchasing a 100 from DLUSA and just curious to see if everyone is still pleased with the engine, and it's performance. Thanks!

RE: Futaba 10C is HERE!
I use the R606FS in my foamie. I'm sure that you can find one on ebay for less then $90 as they have been discontinued. I have 4 and haven't had any problems with them, I just think the new 617 replaced it. Bax assured me that they are compatible with the 10c in 7ch mode. Other then that I would go with the R617FS, it it the same size and weight, I believe. [:)] I was hoping for the same antenna setup as the 12 and 14 as well, oh well, hope it's not too awkward. Does it rest on the antenna safely like a 'kick stand' ?

RE: 10C date moves back, update*******
I spoke with two different hobby shops and they both stated that the ship date on the 10c was June 17th. This is, of course, second-hand information so I have no way to verify it other than what I heard. Looks like we could expect the radio to hit the LHS around the 20th. Just thought I would pass this along! [:D]

RE: 10C date moves back, update*******
Okay > This is what I am talking about, this is from page 8 on the 10c manual for those of you that have it. Here is the image of the chart in the 10c manual that differs from the chart on the website. My question is which one is correct? Thanks!

RE: 10C date moves back, update*******
Bill, can you point out where it says the 10c will work with all FASST receivers? It lists a compatibility chart for all the receivers and there is nothing indicating that the R606FS is compatible. Thanks!

RE: 10C date moves back, update*******
Looks like the 10c is NOT compatible with the R606FS Rx (in the manual) [:@] This is something I was looking forward to as I have 4 of the receivers in planes that don't require 7 or 8 channels and the Futaba website stated they would work with the 10c in 7 channel mode. can anyone shed more light on this or am I SOL with my receivers and the 10c? Thanks! Here is the link stating that the R606FS receiver is compatible with the 10c. Which one is correct? The manual or the Website? [sm=72_72.gif] http://2.4gigahertz.com/modules/modules-receivers.html

RE: 10C date moves back, update*******
Hey guys, sorry if this has been covered already.... I have been waiting on the 10c for a while now, I placed my order and have been patiently waiting like a good consumer... I was looking around Tower today and noticed that the release date was "Early June" I re-visited the site today after lunch only to find that they have now moved it back to "Mid-June" How many times has this been moved back, and will it ever ship? Should I join the realm of JR? I have only been flying for a little over a year, I purchased my first radio (Futaba 6EX) in May 07 and it has already failed. (Not due to damage or neglect) I emailed Futaba to see if since it was only 10 days from the warranty if they would repair it for me, along with some other questions, they could only respond with "if your radio is under warranty you can send it in for repair" and they did not answer any of my other questions. Have any of you other Futaba Guys had problems like this? Why does Futaba have only a 1 year warranty compared to JR's 3 years? My product failed 10 days after 1year, I am honestly hesitant to purchase another radio from Futaba. What do you guys think, any similar experiences or am I alone here? Thanks! [:@]
