RE: 6S 10A 250W charger/discharger(106B+)
I was thinking of getting one of these because I wanted a charger that could do it all especially to discharge with the same unit. Then I read from 2 post that it burnt them up discharging. Has this been rectified yet? I have a cellpro 4s and is a good charger, but can't discharge, but I guess I'm asking for too much to also discharge with the same unit. Any suggestions?

RE: New to gas engines- having issues
I'm going to 1st move any servos, wires etc 12 inches from the ignition. I also am using a redundant battery backup and both batteries are straped together on both planes and I will seperate them from each other. I will also ground the high volt wire with a clamp to the engine in case the plug boot comes a little loose and lastly going to Futaba 2.4 ghz. It's time to do it anyway seeing that soon or later like Joe Nall, nothing but 2.4 will be allowed anyway. Any more comments welcome or experiences with problems from the past, we can't never learn enough, thanks Randy

RE: New to gas engines- having issues
We range tested with engine off, engine at idle and and at 1/4 throttle and that was at 150 paces with the antenna collapsed down to the first pull out. If I move the servos back farther, I'll have to make a servo bracket for it and move it from it's factory position. I don't mind doing that, but it would seem the factory place would suffice on a purpose built for gas plane. What about the metal pull pull? MY antenna runs inside the fuse right next to it. Are you gas guys running the antenna inside or out of the fuse? I sure like my 9z, but may go to 2.4 before I crash another time due to this. Any more advise welcome and thanks for the help already given.

New to gas engines- having issues
Having trouble with 2 gas planes, one with mvvs 50 prosport and other 50cc da. Ist time out, the throttle went to full on the 58cc when at idle coming for landing. One outing with the 50cc the ailerons went at like triple rates and were uncontrollable causing mild crash damage, stripped servo. Another time when turning on the plane, the aileron servos were out of trim 60 clicks or beeps, retrimmed and flew, the ailerons went uncontrollable again. Next outing trims were out again, and trimmed back to original trim place. We thinking maybe it’s the transmitter since both planes were basically doing the same thing. Switch radio to 7c pcm. 1st flight going ok then in turn 2 the plane pitched downward and ailerons were again uncontrollable. We checked all ,no metal to metal, no metal clevises. Spark plugs are resistor type. Closest wire to choke servo on 1 plane is 2 inches from the ignition battery lead. I’m going nuts here. I’ve been flying 30 years helis and planes but always been nitro stuff. One flyer told me to get rid of the hitec digitals 5945’s, another says get rid of pcm use fm only, another says route the antenna outside the fuse, another says go to 2.4ghz I use 9zwc2 pcm and all receivers are 9 channel pcm all futaba almost new stuff. Any help appreciated from you experienced guys.

I just bought an EQ6 with ignition cut off built in. I see the price between the expanders with and without the optic cut off is $20. Are the pieces I need available for $20? I guess I need whatever plugs into the optic cable port built onto the eq6 with ignition cut off built in, thanks gymm1000@yahoo.com

RE: Hobbyking or Hobby city 2.4ghz questions
Do a search on utube and type in assan 2.4 check by an expert with a electronic checking machine and it showed the system weak and easily locked out with minimal traffic. Personally I wouldn't buy squat from them, I bought a gas engine and had problems with stuff cracking and breaking and was assured that if I sent a pic of the problem, a new part would be sent out instead of sending the whole engine in, well don't believe them, they lie to get you to buy then when you call them on it , they say no and have a good day hear. I told them in an email the way they do business was slow way out of business it's just gonna take some time. Anyway do the search, I thought of giving it a try too but with the combined testing and POOR service, no way for me, you have been warned!!![X(]

RE: TGY 52
ORIGINAL: N2ECW The only constant in life is change. There is no engine that you could have purchased that could have been guaranteed to be perfect right out of the box. None. After one realizes that, it then becomes a matter of turning the odds in your favor. The better the odds toward perfection, the more you will pay. Buying from offshore is a gamble. One must learn not to get so upset when the discount firecrackers go off in one's hand, instead of on the ground as you intended. I bought one too, but I'm sure that my 12' Telemaster won't mind if the engine only spools up to somewhere near 5.9k rpm. For higher performance, I would expect to pay considerably more. I'm sure that you will too from now on. But just think of how happy you'll be the next time when your cheap engine spins up to 6.9k rpm for the same price. That is also why some of us buy cheap. It's a gamble and sometimes you win. Ed Cregger
Yes you are correct and I figured there would be some that would not see it the same as me. But when the forums(not only this one) say #1. I'm getting xxxrpm with xxxprop and it's off 500-600 rpm, ok 1 down I'm still ok. #2. Forums say no problem man just send them a pic and they will send the needed part,NOT. Beginning to frustrated here. #3. It's the smoothest engine in it's class. This thing is tearing my plane apart, shucks it's tearing itself apart, so far muffler welds cracked in 3 places, the velocity stack is cracking. I saw a Zenoah crank up Wednesday and I walk up to it and think I remember it was said they were the shakyest of them all, huh, it made the Zenoah look it was nitro engine. Now I'm real upset. So to say that I shouldn't be that upset, wait for your turn with soooooooooooo many let downs. But all is not lost, I'm gonna put a 3w with triple bearing supported crankshaft, yes I may pay 3 times the price, but at least I'll have the specs quoted, smoothness quoted and best of all[:D][:D] my plane won't crack to pieces. So let's see 3w at approx $600 my plane about $475, that's $1075, with tgy, $205 shipped, lost plane due to balsa cracks everywhere, pull tgy off and do what with it?? Sell it for $125 and go buy a new plane and then go buy a real engine, not counting the countless hours assembling and frustration of having to do it all over again. Not me men.[8D]

I have to admit the chinese stuff made is better than it used to be. I remember when I was a kid if it said made in china it lasted 2 play times then it broke. I will still buy stuff made in china because some time it's the only source fo goods needed, but only from here where if it broke I could for $10 send it back. Yes it is well made and I MAY not have anymore trouble and it may haul a 12 lb plane around real good, but I'm done.

RE: TGY 52
I got mine 2 weeks ago and for a 52cc, it's a dog. All I can get after breakin is 5900 on a 22x8 prop, this is after 1 gallon of fuel. Yeah I know let it break in some more, maybe another 100 rpm. Others were getting I thought 6700 and that's after tuning needles to max rpm. It pulls my 14lb plane around fair. Also my muffler has bad welds around 2 of the welds. I also thought I read, just send them a pic of the problem and they will send you a new part, well try it!! I was told twice by email, I have to send the whole engine in. I told them it was not economical to do that like $35 to send back and I heard stories from other forums of other stuff like motors etc that if you did send it back, it seemed to mysteriously get lost in the mail even with tracking. Now let's see, if I send it back 2 times then the guy that sells XYZ in Florida is right, when you send it back twice then you're at his price. I'm ONLY buying here from now on. That good price is great but only if you have no trouble. Oh and if this is the smoothest engine in it's class, it is shaking my GP yak to pieces. If this is smooth, I would hate to see the others. I'm going to a 20 in prop, maybe this dog will wake up to I hope 6200-6500 rpm. I'm very disatisfied with the engine and especially the service.

Giant Scale Planes Giles 202 109"
Bought this 3 years ago from some online hobby shop some guy named Irwin(probably shouldn't have). Anyway I'm getting ready to cover and equip it with all the necessaties, anyone build one of these and if so, got any tips on balance, building etc, I plan on putting a 3W157 on it, any info appreciated. Also I may try A123 batteries, but don't I still need something else besides a receiver to handle the load of 12-15 servos?? I see some are using 2 receivers, is this why? Do I need to use larger extensions from the servos especially if I have 2 servos on it?This my first 40% so please help so me don't do something wrong. Thanks Randy

RE: A123 battery info
Ok more info please. I won't need regulators but I will still need some kind of electronics to hook my receiver to for higher amps draw for 40% plane right? I mean 12-15 servos, the receiver probably can't handle that load. What's the cheapest route? I saw some had 2 receivers, is that why they are using 2 for the high amps?

RE: SY Props where can I find them?
[:@]Is it not ok to post his site or name? I want to know who this crackhead is so I don't order and get ripped off. Someone pm or email me and tell. It would be a public service to us to know. Phew you think this guy is bad, try dealing with giant rc planes in I think Connecticut, this guy will give you the run around for months and then tell you that you got the plane at below his cost and he wasn't gonna take anymore loss after not sending landing gear and wing tube. When he finally did send something after 4 mos, after 10 phone calls and even more un answered emails, I got a piece of aluminum pipe cut with a hacksaw real heavy like and a too small landing gear. Then I hear later that he was selling inferior heli parts witha name brand name. After the parts started breaking on the helis people caught on. This guy will run himself out of business. Word of mouth can make you a success and also ruin your business and reputation if you don't deal with us correctly. This stuff cost out of the wazoo like a hobby engine as much as short block for a full size car, at these prices we need second to none service. Phew I feel better now time for nap. [:)]

Help with Poulan 42cc
I have a poulan 42cc engine that came on a plane I bought and it wouldn't crank. I replaced the ring and the compression got better but not as good than say my zenoah 38cc when turned by hand without a prop. I got it to run for a few seconds by sqirting fuel in the carb. The problem is it's not getting fuel. I cleaned the carb real good including both screens and sprayed carb cleaner through all passages. The carb is almost new. The clunk is in fuel, nothing on fuel circuit stopped up. Could the engine being low on compression not allow the carb to pump fuel due to low sucking? I was under the impression that when a walbro wt289 got a pulse from turning over it would pump fuel. I opened the carb after many turn overs and no gas in the carb at all. A mower shop told me that if there was low compression on the down stroke it wouldn't suck any gas or the carb wouldn't work proper. Any help appreciated.

Cracking, popping noises
On Reflex xtr , I get these noises when the planes are taking off. Cracking & sometimes popping noises. Also when the model is away from me a bit, the engine noise goes louder & lower again while at the same distance. My computer is only 3 mos old with onboard sound. Didn't I read that these cheap cards are the problem? I contacted W3 which is some of my planes, he told me to play them in a player from the hard drive, I did that & though it is a steady sound(not up & down according to rpm), it sounds normal with no cracking noises, thanks Randy
