it is normal to have machined like markings on your blades on shaft directly behind starter motor these are placed in specific areas to complete balancing process

RE: Is this FOD bad?
yes i also agree i have a few friends who's home field is asphalt and due to going to a couple local shows nearby on grass or manicured grass same issues did arise. kerry did specify that there is no way even with a fod screen to avoid this the grains of sand are so thin that entry thru screen to engine is almost inevitable good luck be safe

RE: Is this FOD bad?
i thought mine was fine after blowing out entire aircraft with compressor it was about 2 flights after grass runnoff and the grinding started both bearings needed immediate attention kerry at j central PA said it was the finest dirt he had ever seen affecting the bearings i am i guess anal and i sent it in after i heard the grinding yes i could of flown more and caused more damage or even a seisure but its better to have it checked out for small fee or get in to trouble and get a higher bill to fix just some advice

RE: Is this FOD bad?
just a little info i have had all j central engines and have never run them without screen i had 2 run offs into grassy areas at end of asphalt runway f16 with rhino 1st time nose gear did not collapse and didnt think much of it 2nd time nose did collapse in grass and i did immediate shut down long story short the finest granules of dirt did end up causing bearings to start grinding on next few flights immediately had a 3 day turnaround with kerry at jet central usa in PA he is very efficient pay close attention to the engine spool up and spool down and listen carefully if there is a difference grindage >> thnks

RE: BAE Hawk vs F-16 (fun poll)
i have had the pleasure of flying the hawk in a few scale sizes and stretched all their legs very precise model but my f 16 ooooohhhhhh there is really nothing sexier than a nice 10 mph head wind and turning inbound into a 60 degree alpha across the entire length of the field then again i still want a sm hawk 100 anybody got one haahha

RE: Gotta love the Chinese Copy Factories....
just to clarify my name is gabe from miami about a year ago i was looking around at paint schemes for my viper and i fell in love with marks paint scheme featured on skymasters website unfortunately i couldn't do the large one and i knew that fly eagle could do custom work as long as the pictures were sufficient i was able to contact mark through rc u and he sent me more than 25 pics of this paint scheme incredible job i was able to forward over to f e j what mark had sent me but i just wanted the background no text at all thats what i received no text at all. i had my custom decal talent do the exact decal match to marks viper and it was a match i also had custom airbrush and black detail done to match marks plane perfectly here is a link of my fly eagle jet s version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zagch-8YDAo this is final product of my custom worked viper thanks to the original mark schroeder my viper won best civilian aircraft at florida jets and best sport jet at gathering of the giants now to the picture that was on the post a buddy of mine asked me for the same file because he wanted to do the same paint scheme cause he loved mine i sent him the file that mark sent me and that was forwarded to fej he did infact ask for the text so f e j copied i guess as much as they could unfortunately my buddy did not ask me what was " schroeder" until we unwrapped bobbys new viper we realized that they infact copied and decaled marks name under canopy NOW WHEN I TOLD HIM WHAT SCHROEDER WAS WE BOTH LAUGHED OUR ASSSSSSEEEESSSSS OFF BY THE WAY HIS VIPER FLEW GREAT BUT I WOULD NOT BLAME THE MANUFACTURER ON THIS ONE IT WAS NOT CLEAR ON MY PART WHAT ALL THE DECALS WERE SORRY IF THIS OFFENDED ANYONE BUT I BELIEVE I AM AT FAULT FOR THE NAME ISSUE BY THE WAY MARK I JUST SOLD THE AWARD WINNER TO MAKE ROOM FOR AN ULTRA SOMETHING THANKS FOR YOUR HELP IN MY JOURNEY

has anyone seen or experienced this two flights today all was good then......... fueled turned radio on then turned my switches on 1 second and front gear collapsed mains stayed down didnt even touch any switches thennnnnnn turned all off then on again gear works fine but heard like a buzzing sound coming from the brake port of the valve thought it was a leak but after trouble shooting all lines it seems like it is caught between the on and off position and maybe valve is half open and won't close or fully open does this sound familiar to any of you guys thanks for the time ??????????

RE: Lipo in a 12fga
i use a 2600 7.4 lipo in my 12 fg the standard included nicad is the most horrible battery almost lost my prized jet due to voltage drop i believe it is the power edge battery the only problem it doesnot fit in the appropriate hooks that the nicad is deisgned for. the lid does not close properly so just connect the wire tuck them in nicely and use the best adhesive tape to secure the lid you dont want the battery falling out gd luck
