RE: PARKZONES NEW P-47
Just got the beautiful 'Snortin Bull' Plug n Play. (actually my wife got it for me) I was hoping to do the maiden flight this morning but 10mph winds are a little too much for a first flight in my opinion. Has anyone had a problem with the stock fixed landing struts being bent badly out of the box? Mine seems to have a horrible toe-in, like it won't even roll. I just got done bending it back to what looks and feels better. I can't even tell you guys how excited I am over this model! Any tips for a first flight?

RE: Blade MSR travel case, where can you buy one of these....
I agree Pelican cases are awesome. I've been using an electric carving knife to cut the foam and it does pretty good (better than a regular knife)

Hey yall. I've been out of the hobby for a while but now I'm back with a new stampede VXL. It's a great truck! Just like all my other stampedes in the past.

RE: Stock traxxas motor
I used the reedy Quad Mag in my stampede and it was a great motor. You'll need to buy a smalled pinion gear (probably about a 15-tooth) to keep from burning it up though. It'll probably go about 30 mph tops depending on how you gear it.

so true. These planes are easy to fix and keep flying. The worst thing is getting them stuck in tall trees. I've been lucky with mine.

I just eyeballed it. It took about 10 minutes. Even if it isn't perfect, you can adjust the length of the control line and use the trim on the transmitter.

My Sky Fly is still kickin'... The other day we had some very low overcast and I flew right along the base of it-- the plane disappeared into the clouds a few times, what a thrill! Sharperguy, let us know how you do!

RE: SV27 Water Cooling
The simplest thing to do is make sure you oil the bearings. I checked my shaft temps after running today and it was 92 degrees on the rear and 88 on the front bearing. The can was 78, ESC 72, batteries 120 (IB4200's).

RE: my car!!!!!!!!!!!!
My first truck was a 93 Chevy S10. I was parked on the street first time it got hit (in the morning before school-- I was sitting in my truck when they hit it!) The left side of the bumper got bent up a little. 3 months later it was rear ended by a girl talking on her cell phone not paying attention to the stopped traffic up ahead... Messed her car up good but it just bent the other side of my bumper so it matched from the previous accident. [:D]

RE: NEW SV27 tuning thread, no rants please
Let's talk about trim tabs. Here is what I understand: Trim tabs DOWN will keep the boat in the water and the increased drag lowers the top speed. Trim tabs UP will allow the boat to get out of the water but will make the boat handle more loose. Correct? I'm running with my tabs a few degrees down. A Graupner 42mm CF prop. Another question: what happens when you change the angle of the turn fin?

RE: SV27 Water Cooling
Hey I revised my setup today. I picked up some 5/32" landing gear straps from my LHS (DuBro cat. no. 239) and they are a perfect fit for the brass tubing. I made a new water pickup and I'm done! See the pics. The DuBro part cost $1.30 (4 of them in a pack) and the brass tubing was scrap I had laying around. For just over a dollar, this is the way to go!

RE: Any deer hunters out there?
Three times in the last two years we've found poached deer at our farm in Kentucky. We found one that had obviously been shot and the antlers were sawed off. The other two had been eaten up by coyotes so we couldn't tell if they were shot, but the antlers were cut off of those too. [:@] It wasn't even deer season!

cool-- I will look into it. My charger charges at 1.0 or 3.5 amps, I guess 1.0 will have to do? Sounds like I need a better charger! One that can discharge too. What charger do you have?
